Terrible experience! I went here for threading and she did an okay job. When I went to pay, the lady who did my threading asked for my number. Reluctantly, I told her my number. She asked for my name. I was hesitant to share my full name so shared a short version of my name. She asked "Is that your full name " and I said yes. Next second, she picked up my card holder which one was on the counter and started checking my name on my ID card. This is such a violation! I don't understand how people can be so unprofessional. When I told her that I don't appreciate this behavior, she did not apologize!. Instead she tells me that she has data of 1000+ customers and this is not a big deal. All this for an offer of $5 threading. If I was told this in the beginning, I would have opted to pay the full amount than sharing my details. This was a horrible experience- this business was not trained in the wax package advertised to provide-FYI I've been getting waxes for years and the service was horrible. You could tell she did not know what she was doing. I left with burns, access wax and a hair all over my body after purchasing a wax package via Groupon (in which the business had a different name on the website called (Reveal salon). They also racially profiled me and attempted to charge me extra amount of hair before examining anything on my body. I started coming to this location after the Fremont Blvd location closed and I've had great experiences. I have been coming to Arch for 3 years - and it started with a Groupon and then I began ordering their affordable wax packages: lip wax, eyebrow threading, and, underarm/full legs/Brazilian. Honestly, they have the best prices!! I've looked and I cannot find anyone who beats their prices! First, you should always try to make an appointment because often times only one girl is working: Shilpy. If I ask for an appointment, even if it's last minute, they always try to accommodate me. You can reserve online too. They are great at doing the wax combo fast (I.e. 30 minutes). I like to have my eyebrows threaded and my upper lip waxed too. The lip wax is a delicious-smelling chocolate wax; I love it! They shape eyebrows really well. They sell Indian clothes and jewelry here too. The jewelry is very beautiful. I tried a facial for the first time in many years because my pores were getting too large and I needed extractions. I was shocked with how well my skin looked afterwards! I highly recommend the European facial if you want healthy, refreshed looking skin. They steam your face, perform extractions, etc., but what really sets them apart is 1) their water vacuum suction machine which cleans and shrinks your pores, and 2) cryo balls which tightens your skin. I've never had another facial that used these techniques. Honestly, if you're trying to avoid Botox, this facial is the best thing for you. read more

I bought their package for waxing (arms and legs). This review is for my most recent visit to their paseo padre location. Since i started going to them, they have gone from 3 locations to 1. What follows might explain why: I walked in 5 mins before my appointment. i was asked to wait while someone would see me for my waxing appt. another woman walks in 10 mins after me for same time appointment and she gets to go into the room right away while i wait outside. i find that unprofessional but thats fine. i continue to wait, to be led inside finally. They ask me to undress and cover up with a piece of paper. they dont give you a decent gown or anything. When I did, Manisha walks in 10 mins later and says she needs a loo break and walks back out, another person Mamta comes and does my arms and legs waxing. All the while, the front desk person is yelling at someone on the phone. its not a good experience. Manisha returned and I asked for a brazilian wax and she gave me a different product and claimed that is brazilian wax when it clearly wasn't. when we were done, she did not give me time to dress up and just opened the sliding door and walked out. no privacy. Billing: I still thought i should give her some tip and went to the billing counter. She asked me if i want to renew the package and I said no, She then added a $20 fee for excess growth - legs while i clearly did not have any excess. When i confronted her, she said it is policy since my last visit was in Feb '23. I said but that does not mean you charge me extra when i clearly did not have excess hair on legs. even if i did, they never told me this when the package was purchased. She said it is store policy. I chose not to tip because of this and walked out. I would stay away from their business. I've been getting packages here since I moved to Union City in 2019. Since then, I've moved to Hayward, then San Jose, and still remain a loyal client to the best ever, Shilpy! She's friendly, makes you feel comfortable, and is excellent at her job - always a positive experience with her. If it wasn't for Shilpy, I wouldn't be giving 5 stars. My only negative experiences here were when my appointment wasn't with Shilpy so be sure to call and make an appointment with her specifically. And be direct/firm about who you want too - I've had an encounter with a new lady who told me Shilpy was not available for an appointment (when she clearly was available by the time I showed up). I went with the new lady anyway and never again! I walked out of my Brazilian still feeling waxy and sticky and now my eyebrows are way thinner than they need to be. read more

The eyebrow threading service itself was fine, and I mean fine, wasn't exceptional but wasn't horrible or red flags either. Customers are to wear masks at all times during covid which is nice. I'm not sure if chairs are fully wiped down in between as I was the only one in there at the time. I can see what others complain about they are pushy about buying a package, but during covid times it's hard, not sure what's going to survive or what's not and it's hard to commit to 10 waxes like that when I only go every so often. That brings me to my stars. The marketing/advertising is misleading. It is only $5 if you buy a $50 package for 10 threadings. And as far as the yelp check in $5 off eye brow threading (which is what brought me here). They don't accept it and they really frown upon purchasing groupons. I could tell when I tried to redeem the check in and they had mistaken it as a groupon at first, then when they realized it was a yelp check in they were like nope, we don't take those. So if you're looking for a $10 threading this is the spot. They do take walk-ins which is nice. read more

Well.. this review is about the service and the whole experience. If i try to recollect, I bought a Groupon for Brazilian wax. The whole thing started ok - nothing go good or bad - but the told me about the stupid extra charge for extra growth - nowhere else I have heard such thing! Then they kept on telling me about these packages - it was like 10 Brazilian wax package. I did sign up for that since they said that there was no expiration date. And at that time it felt like a good deal. I choose the payment plan where I paid upfront for all 10 in like 3-4 months. When I showed up for the wax for the next time - they tell me they can't find my name in the system! Then for 1 hour - the receptionist kept calling - god knows who she was calling. I pulled up my credit card statements to show that I have paid - exact dates and exact time of first, second and all payments. Then they tell me that the package I signed up for - now has 6 Brazilian waxes. I mean - come on! I had not used even a single one of those. I really like Masnisha my friend recommended I come here. BUT I had purchased a Groupon and upon arrival, she asked to see the Groupon and sent a picture to her manager. The manager stated that they were not able to redeem the Groupon and it was "pending" that I needed to wait 24 hours...it never said this on the listing on Groupon. Then they proceeded to tell me that the manager said I can cancel the Groupon and pay in store $38 for one session saying that was the price on Groupon when it said $32.30 for that day EVEN THO I paid $41.30 for 2 sessions on Groupon. I didn't care for my experience here. Other places use tweezers to make sure they get everything, but I had several strays and I asked for a Brazilian wax. They also tried to charge me $15 extra for "extra growth" hairs even though I shaved before to make sure they were short. I spoke to someone on the phone the day before and they explained the criteria for the extra growth price, which I followed. I've never heard of this charge before, and I've never been charged this at any other place I've been to. She was pushing their packages for me to purchase afterwards, the whole thing just felt really pushy. It felt like a money grab or like they were trying to pull money out of you every little chance they got, which made me uncomfortable. Hi Everyone Bear with me; this will be a long story to make everyone and the owner understand what happened!! I used to visit this salon on lake arrowhead avenue from 2019 start. I use to get a very excellent service. But later in March 2020, I have been charged for the amount of $1700. The package was 1400$, which was charged unknowingly as an auto subscription. On top of that, they have charged $300 extra without any reason. I requested the owner Deepthi on call multiple times for a refund since I moved to a different state and also as it was charged during the Covid period. First, she assured me of a refund, and then later on the call, she mentioned that it is refunded. I called the salon two weeks later to mention that it is not refunded; Deepthi would be answered very rudely and told me that she would, call me. I waited for a month for her to call back, she didn't call me. I called once again, one of her assistants received the call. She confirmed on call that I was charged $1700 and I haven't used it all. And Deepthi has not been refunded it as well ( Call was recorded) as proof. The assistant told me she would make sure Deepthi will call me back. Deepthi didn't call me. When I called Deepthi after two days, she just lied that she is not the one answering the call. However, I clearly know her voice and her sister Preethi's voice (Recorded for proof). Please be careful with all the transactions everyone from this merchant. They are not professional at all once you pay and except for a refund. To deal with this, planning to proceed legally and submit my proof. This is the same case as that of one of the reviews on Yelp. I moved to a different state; no service was used but not refunded. In just one click ... they will charge you even you didn't get the promo. Last week i just saw my acct that o was charged $948. Horrible customer service. I purchased a groupon for three leg waxing services and only used one in February. Alameda County then went into SIP and I didn't use the rest. According to Alameda County all salons and indoor services were supposed to be closed up until recently. So not sure how this salon was opened since June. There would've been no way for me to know since everything was supposed to be closed. Manager said she would only honor one but not both. Then she proceeded to tell me she preferred to loose money than to have a sour mouthed client come in and cause a scene. She said I could take the one service or deal with groupon. I came here after purchasing a Living Social pkg. for 3 brazilian waxes. They have a number of locations in the tri-city area, all of which are pretty conveniently located. They're all owned and operated by one person, and employees typically work in one location, although I've met two ladies who cover shifts on specific days at an alternate spot. This review is for the Alvarado location, which is definitely in an outdated building, but the inside is clean. Even with an appointment, I waited 15 mins. to be seen, when there was no one else in there. I was told that it was because they couldn't use my voucher, they needed Living Social to confirm from their end... Okay. When I was finally brought back to the room, the first time the woman didn't leave the room to allow me to change. There was also no towel or anything to cover myself and both rooms I've been in so far, have the beds facing the doorway, so this is a little uncomfortable due to the lack of privacy and the lack of clothing on my nether-regions. Then the waxing process began and the woman spoke to me non-stop about their packages and how if I "purchased today, I could get the best deal" - she later changed that to 24 hours after I declined. Personally, I love deals, but I always wait a few days after going to a new waxing spot to see how my skin fares. The wax job was decent, but missed thin strips of my hair in three places. I did not notice this upon self-exam on the table - but let's be real, who exams themself scrupulously with some stranger watching?!? I always check thoroughly once I get home. Also, the wax that they claim is the best available, did not pull my hair from the root... which means that it grew back quickly, much faster than I'm used to. Upon leaving I tipped for the visit and the next two in advance, but on my second visit there was no note indicating that I left $$ (the esthetician was different my second visit). All of these notes as well as the client info is kept in a hand-written, notebook, in pencil. :-/ Brazilian - less than average, not completely clean, fast grow-back Facility - just okay, they tried with what they had but the way the beds are facing with the open doors could be problematic for privacy. Service - the first person who helped me was not friendly, very monotone and spent her entire time trying to sell me (maybe this is why she missed spots?) She also never asked me if the wax was hot and I had to tell her; ouch. The second woman I saw was wonderful, although again, the wax job was not 100% clean. I've been getting Brazilians for over 10 years, so yes I'm picky, but I also have little growth and usually only go every 7-10 wks. I had to go back in 4 this time. I am beyond appalled. I've been getting my eyebrows done for 15 years from different places across the globe and I never have experiences such horrible service ! Not only are my eye brows uneven and I'm horrified to go to events I've been anticipating to go to this weekend, my eyes are hurting . The women who did my eyebrows seemed to be the owner or supervisor. Everyone except for her was wearing a gown gloves and mask and she wasn't wearing any of these . She was breathing on my face and her breath the whole time and her hands smelled. I specifically told her I want my brows thick with an arch and to keep them natural. She did them unevenly and I was in pain the entire time and then she said oh you can use a pencil to fix it and proceeded to leave the salon asking her employee to fix it and not charge. Could you be more condescending? She didn't even apologize. I had grown my brows the whole month to get the best shape . Her employee tried to even them out but it was beyond repair and said sorry too. This is my first ever negative review of a salon, and I'm still fuming and traumatized by my experience. Must I add how they made me and so many others pay for a package of 10 sittings and did not bother to update anyone about closing of a location, given they made the package attached to phone numbers so they had everyone's cell numbers. They basically made every customer drive up and see there is no salon, you call them, and they ask you to drive 20 more minutes to other locations, and when you get there they treat you like this. Butcher your face and insult you and instead of apologizing tell you not to come if you don't like the horrible service. Also, mind you this is without returning your money. An addition after rude Insta & google review reply from owner: Also the most fascinating and audacious thing the owner did. I posted any Red eyes on my insta and tagged them and she messaged me back with rudest messages calling my rat and whatnot. I have screenshots. I was surprised by this attitude even after the experience at the salon. I have never had to deal with a business that doesn't do its job and tries to blame you and call you names instead of apologizing. 15 people on my insta who also live around the area have had similar experiences with them. Being a journalist I can really record all the video responses and post it, but you can well read all the horrible experiences here on google and yelp reviews. They will show you how they don't return money and insult and make their customers suffer on regular basis. Also look at how she tried to make the sad excuse and blame me and isn't even very creative with reasoning, just using the same thing I called them out for and turned back at me. Must I point out again only one person was without mask, gloves or gown, the owner woman, her staff was all clean and masked. I came to this eye brow threading center for the first time this morning and the lady was sweet and let me in. there was someone else who came before me so naturally she took care of her service first and I waited for about 15-20 mins. After she was done with her customer she checked my temperature. She checked my temp after I waited there inside the place for 15 mins. My temperature was 99F so she didn't feel comfortable and I said OK, respected that and I left. I stumbled upon this establishment and have never went back to European wax center!! I have started to meet different ladies who are better at certain services. But all very nice ladies no matter the location! I think the Brazilian is around $45 and cheaper with the bundle. But EWC is $58 and forever rising. So this place was a more efficient way to keep up with those appts. And the under arm wax here is like $10-12 less on your first time and it was like $20-25 somewhere in that range at EWC but come on, it's like 2-3 strips of wax laid down for such a small area that this is the obvious choice. I recently moved from Hayward to Oakland, CA making this an inconvenient location for me. When asked if I wanted to purchase more packages, I persisted saying no. Finally, I said I'd think it over just so I could leave. I called them the next day to confirm my answer was still no, they said okay and that they would call me back. They avoided answering the phone after that and charged me anyways.... Over $200. I am now reporting them to the BBB and having to dispute the fraudulent charges with my bank. I will part ways with the sessions I previously paid for and no longer be returning to such a shady business. I never signed anything agreeing to those charges, I never authorized them and I was very clear about not wanting to purchase more packages. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They do not care about you or your financial well being, they are selfish and only concerned about making money. I called a few days ago and asked how many sessions of a full leg wax I had on my pass (which I signed up a few years ago the woman who signed me up said there was no expiration). Which is one of the reasons why I signed up. The woman over the phone hung up on me. That was the first red flag. I called back again because maybe it was my signal or hers. The woman on the phone said I had two sessions left. I made an appointment that following Saturday. I arrived to my appointment and the woman asked if I had a pass with them and said yes. She then proceeded to say I had only one session left and it's been two years since I've gone to them that I would have to pay $20 since it's been that long. It would have been better to hear this while I was on the phone with the woman but the women at the front seemed unsure and made it seem like this rule was made up on a whim. Very concerning. While their quality of eyebrow service or waxing service is not bad, their customer service is really subpar. I tried their place 2-3 times now and have decided to stop visiting them. They have convoluted policies and seems to bend the rules as they desire. They are also very aggressive in their pitch to make you sign-up on the packages they sell (e.g.: buy 4 waxing deals get 1 free, etc.). I would highly recommend you clearly understand the T&Cs before signing up for any kind of deals. Also, they advertise that they do not double-dip for waxing but they did double/triple dip every time I had waxing done. However, when she returned my phone to me and I looked at the chat, the Groupon representative was under the impression they were chatting with me instead of Arch staff. Debbie, at one point, told me to have seat while she chatted with Groupon as if it was okay to use my phone instead of her own or by some other means to contact Groupon. I feel that it was already unprofessional enough that they refused to render service as I paid for, let alone being comfortable enough to conduct business matters on my phone.
