I am a big fan of St. Louis style pizza and always attempt to try a new one every time I am in St. Louis on business. That is what led me to Faraci tonight. Overall, it was a decent place with a decent pizza. The ingredients were good and the place was clean. However, when I compare it to other St. Louis style pizzas, it is not one of my favorites for a couple of reasons. These reasons are completely subjective. First, the crust was just a little too thin for my tastes. I prefer enough thickness to have two layers, a crispy bottom and a chewy center. It felt like I didn't quite get either. Second, there was a sweetness to it that I think came from the sauce. I just don't care for sweetness on my pizzas. It is one of the main reasons I don't like Imo's either. It's a decent representation of St. Louis style but I think there are better ones. Service was great. read more

Got here on a 6:30 Saturday craving a pizza. Firstly, not even acknowledged or greeted after being the only ones in line for dine in. Second before we were seated they said it would be an hour if we wanted a pizza. WTF, it's Saturday evening, your gonna sell a lot of pies...trust me,I know these things so be prepared in advance. Faraci Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Ballwin, Missouri

Faraci Pizza is actually in my top five favorite pizzas in St. Louis. It's thin and crispy, but not paper thin, and has a sweet tangy sauce and gooey orange provel cheese. If this isn't your jam then maybe Faraci Pizza is not for you. My one complaint about it is their location. I just don't get to Ellisville all that often. I happened to be fairly close to there on a Tuesday afternoon and had the worst day ever and thought hey, why not order from Faraci? I'm not far and I haven't had it in forever and what else besides pizza and toasted ravioli could turn a bad day around? I picked it up in 15 minutes and took it home. YUM! I've missed this food and I need to make a point to get there more often because it is really really good. If you're a St. Louis pizza fan you really need to try this one. read more

I just got a large carry out Faraci pizza and was reminded by the weight of it just how good those pies are and felt I should share my thoughts about this place. If you like St. Louis style pizza, this is the BEST pace to eat the greatest pies in the St. Louis area. The pizzas are loaded with fresh toppings, the cheese is "burn your mouth" hot if you take a bite before it cools, the sauce is delicious and the thin crust is perfectly cooked with crispy edges. Seriously, this is the true gold standard of St. Louis style pizza. I have been coming here for years and have never, ever had a bad experience. This restaurant is spotless, the servers are friendly and efficient, and the food is always served in a timely manner. It also, after the dining room reopens, is a wonderful place to take the whole family. And, it won't cost you an am and a leg to enjoy their great food. It just doesn't get any better. Best STL-style pizza I've had since moving back to the area! The crust tastes and feels so fresh, and the sauce, cheese, seasonings and toppings are prepared and cooked just right! Seriously, this is a diamond in the rough that could run circles around what you get at other STL pizza shops these days. I've had pizza all over the world and this wins my award for worst I've ever tasted. Cheese whiz on a cracker. And by cheese whiz I mean that ridiculous Imo's innovation called "provel cheese" which isn't even considered real cheese. Look it up on Wikipedia. It gets worse. No perceptible taste of any sauce whatsoever. Flavorless. Crust is lifelessly thin and cardboard-like. To make matters worse, my request to sit back in the dining room was denied because "that section is closed," forcing me and my companion to sit in front next to the cashier counter, entryway door, and lights so bright that anyone passing by on Manchester Road would think we were performing a stage play called "Choke It Down." read more

I went tonight to get a pizza. Never been. Got a large double-cheese, black olive and sausage pie to-go. 20 minutes. Very flat-crust pizza. Good toppings. Tasted wonderful fennel from the sausage (which they make). Overall, it didn't knock me over. I ate two pieces. They cut their pizzas in squares. And it cost $20. Too much. read more

This is one of the few places that will get one star for having really good pizza. While the pizza is very nice if you like st. louis style you might want to consider my last visit. While waiting for my pizza that was called in ahead of time, I stood at the register where you can see into the kitchen. While I was watching a few of the cooks I noticed one who decided no one was looking, and decided to dig deep into his nostril with is index finger. As I watched in disgust (and prayed he was not assembling pizza's) he finished his little dig, and without so much as a wipe I see him reach down and fluff up a plate of spaghetti to look more presentable. I tried this place for the first time today on the recommendation of another foodie friend of mine. I was not in the mood for pizza so I decided to go with a sandwich. I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she said they just made the meat balls today so I decided upon that with cheese. It took a few minutes for the sandwich but when it came out it was extremely good. I was in a group with 3 other people, and they said they enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and the Roast Beef sandwich. The service here was very good and the waitress was very nice. They do impose a $10 minimum on all credit/debit purchases and that does NOT include the tip. read more

EVERY time I land in STL there are 2 MANDATORY stops- Faraci's pizza and Trader Joes. My family has been coming to this restaurant for YEARS.. like 15+ years. Always consistent. Called in an order for pick up on Saturday night and was told it would be 45-50 minutes. It ended up being 55 minutes so they weren't lying! People love this place...it was packed from the time I arrived at 6:45 pm until I left at 7:05 ish. The pizza? It was decent. The crust was good on the edges but wasn't very crispy in the middle. Tasted good though. I think I just suffered from too high of expectations for this place. I was told it was pretty much the best St Louis style pizza. While good, it doesn't hold a candle to Stefanina's. I was really hoping to have a Stefanina-like place closer to home but, alas, it was not to be. Family run and fantastic! This place, while packed and can get a little crazy with it's wait time, always serves up some fantastic pie and good set of supporting foods. It's St. Louis thin crust square pizza, but a little thicker with more conventional crust. The sauce is one of a kind an always consistent. A large will easily feed 3, but we usually get 1 large per two people so that we have leftovers. The salad is definitely it's own mix. The house salad is nothing extravegant, but the dressing is light, its got great flavor, and it always starts off the meal well. Do yourself a favor and also get some cheese garlic bread. Like I said, the wait can be bad. If picking up, I recommend calling ahead, and then arriving a few minutes before your estimated pickup time, but still ok on time to take quick seat to wait and grab a frosty glass beer until it's ready. If you're in no hurry, eat in is also great. The staff is really nice (at least to the customers, not always to each other when it's kinda busy), which makes for a great family atmosphere. Came in on a Friday night. Place was busy, was told an hour wait for pizza. We ordered, got the pizza in about 40 minutes, which was a nice surprise. The pizza itself was just ok. Sauce was sweet, crust was thinner than I like (though not cracker thin). If you like thinner, crunchy crust, you'll probably like this. I'd eat it and not complain, but it wouldn't be in my top three in the area. Staff was nice all the way around, and though it gets a little tight and loud, it's not in an uncomfortable way. If loving Faraci's is wrong, I don't want to be right. I grew up in St. Louis and this was my absolute favorite place to eat pizza. Actually, the original in Ferguson was where we ate. It was amazing, and still is, although no longer owned by the Faraci family. Fast forward many years and business and family take me back to St. Louis a few times a year. I cannot go anywhere within two hours without going to Faraci's, and this location is such an improvement over my childhood mainstay! The pizza is the same....AMAZING....but the environment is infinitely better. There are actually tables and servers and it seems like a real restaurant, rather than a glorified take-out counter. The service is very good, and have I mentioned the pizza? I haven't lived in St. Louis full-time in more than 20 years, but I still have the phone number and a picture of the pizza in my phone. Yes, I love it that much. I've had St. Louis-style pizza (which, for those of you who don't know, has a cracker thin and crunch crust, sweeter than normal sauce and the magical Provel cheese - which really is a custom cheese blend) a million times, but nothing even comes close to Faraci's. They hand-make the dough, hand-slice the sausage and make fresh tomato sauce I was told. The pizza was HOT when served. Bonus points there. Tasted like food out of the fridge - not out of a can or off a pallet. Plus, I felt like I was buying a meal from PEOPLE, not from a company or organization. While looking for a new pizza restaurant to patronize after a move to the suburbs, we tried this local establishment on the recommendation of a neighbor. I'm happy to say, he was spot on in his assessment! We ordered a "St' Louis Style" sausage pizza, and what was delivered to our table was beyond delicious! I'll always be a big fan of the more popular chain that is synonymous with this style of pie, but Faraci's will be our go to place from here on out. Oh, did I mention they actually make their own dough? It was superb. We also tried one of their meatball sandwiches, and it was such a hit with the family, we ordered extra meatballs (made from scratch, of course!) to share around the table. Best... meatballs... EVER!
