We have been big fans of Farhat, especially in Troy, where we just went the other day. But, I just ran across this location a couple of days ago while trying a new tea place next door and stopped in for a couple slices of cake. While I do prefer their Troy location, size, and variety, I am excited to have a location closer by in case I want any of their famous baked goods. We got a tiramisu and a Ferrero Rocher slice. It was good, not sure if they make cakes here or it was brought in from the other locations. They have the viral fruit shaped cakes, and of course, gelato. I felt like some of their prices, like the crepe prices for $25 was a bit high, but the cake slice prices are great and that is my typical order. We will be back very soon.

I understand employees may be busy, so that wasn't my concern. What bothered me was the customer service that followed. I asked for a small Berries Delight and pointed to the individual desserts on the left. Instead, the young man assisting me went to the cakes on the right and attempted to hand me a small cake. I politely stopped him and explained that I wanted the personal-sized Berries Delight on the left. He responded by saying, "Those are called slices," in a tone that came across as rude and condescending. I then asked if I could have a fresh one from the refrigerator because the one in the display case looked like it had been sitting there for a while. He insisted the display one was fine, but I repeated that I would prefer one from the refrigerator. He reluctantly got one and handed it to me, saying, "There's your fresh Berries Delight," in a sarcastic tone. I visit Sweet Dreams regularly--between this location and the previous one, I stop in about four times a month. I've always enjoyed your desserts, which is why this experience was so surprising. I've never been treated this way before. I hope this feedback is taken seriously because the quality of customer service should match the quality of your products.

It's off-season and I needed a raspberry tart to use for flavor cues for a client's launch of their new Raspberry Tart Wafer protein bar flavor. Due to a food allergy I didn't want to style the tart myself. I contacted a number of local bakeries as well as Plum Market, Whole Foods, Zingermans and more. None could accommodate my specific request. Finally, I came across sweet dreams and they were able to make me a beautiful raspberry tart to use for my images, based on the appearance, I wanted and in a timely manner. The location and store seem very nice too. And the pastry itself turned out great! Check out the images to see how pretty it was and how perfectly it worked. Since it closed upon the owners retirement, I have looked for something similar but usually disappointed mostly. Not here, the cupcakes I brought was some of the best I have had in my 60+ years. Fresh, flavorable, and rich. Well worth the $4.75 each cost. Service was friendly and efficient that seemed to enjoy talking with the customers. Plenty of parking in the front. At the SE corner of Longlake and Woodward right next to the new Einstein Bagels. I hope to find my way back to this area because it is worth stopping.

Talk about DELICIOUS! You can tell they are baked FRESH daily. Not overwhelmingly sweet and the icing is scrumptious! Price is on par at $5.50 each. They have a menu that changes monthly, along with special items for holidays and other special occasions. These were for my birthday and a nice handwritten card was included. The ribbon was $1.50 extra but added to celebratory occasion. I had a plate that matched so used it to create a nice photo, including adding a candle and making a wish! Not only are the cupcakes beautiful, they taste as good as they look! Another plus is each box comes with instructions for storing and handling. I'm already planning my next visit!

Last week on vacation I brought it up to my mother in law, then yesterday when I was visiting her. We decided to look to see if Adela's was still open, and it is! We got in the car immediately and came. We each got dolma, I got vegetarian and mom got beef. We got beef pies and spinach pies too which were packed with filling and absolutely delicious, my MIL said it was the best meat pie she had in her life. My husband devoured them. I was only interested in one thing, the dolma. I tasted it and it was absolutely perfect. Tart, a kick of spice, a tang and sweetness from the tomato, and the grape leaves are cooked perfectly they're a very nice bite and then they just melt in your mouth. I ordered a pound and a half around 2 pm yesterday, 24 hours later is has all been eaten. I can't wait to go back for my next fix, I certainly won't be waiting another 3+ years to have Adela's

I asked the man behind the counter if there would be a discount if I bought the entire stock of one of the desserts in the display case (about three dozen). He went and got who I assumed was his wife, who wasn't happy to wait on me. She said the desserts were sold by the pound. (I had intended to purchase more than three dozen desserts and would have bought several dozen more desserts had their attitude been different.) I wanted the desserts that were in the display, so I asked what the cost was for all three dozen. The woman begrudgingly began to weigh them and told me it would be "$30 for all of them." I asked her if she would put them in a box for me. She again begrudgingly said that she could put them on a tray but that she would have to charge me for the tray. Never before have I been charged for a tray for a bakery item that I purchased. She ended up charging me $3.00 for the aluminum tray, stating that "trays are very expensive." I'm surprised that she didn't also charge me for the plastic cover. While I was there, another customer came in who happened to speak their language, and the couple was very polite to her and smiled and gladly helped her. I can only surmise that it was my blonde hair and blue eyes that they didn't like, or perhaps the fact that I didn't speak their language. I wasn't looking for a handout; merely to be treated fairly and with respect. If they don't want to treat all their customers fairly, they shouldn't be in business. I live in West Bloomfield, and I've never encountered this kind of treatment before by any shop proprietor. As I was leaving, I could hear the woman in the back room complaining to another employee about the fact that I had asked for a tray for the desserts that I purchased. I told her husband that she shouldn't be complaining about a customer who just made a purchase from their shop. I won't be returning to their bakery and from now on will go back to Sweet Dreams. Sweet Dreams at 4153 Orchard Lake Road is amazing, the desserts are out of this world, and the staff knows how to treat their customers. I wouldn't recommend that anyone give Adela's their business. By the way, my grandparents were immigrants from East Central Europe. They and my parents taught me better than to treat people the way these shop owners treated me.
