Delighted with my choice! Quaint cute little cafe type with a dash of pub thrown in. Very homey. What really made the day was Sarah. Right on top of things! Drinks promptly, follow up great! They just opened. Tried takeout via Toast app of the seared rockfish, roasted Amish chicken, succotash and the chocolate pot de creme. All the dishes were tasty and had quality ingredients. The pot de creme was the star. Creamy with strong chocolate flavors, but not too sugary. Rockfish was tasty and perfectly cooked. The chicken could have had more seasoning and crispier skin. Succotash also could have used more seasoning. Overall this is a good start, but there could be some improvements. read more

When you don't need to head into DC for a culinary experience. I had the opportunity to finally check out Farm & Fork Kitchen Thursday night with my boyfriend. Definitely an awesome date night spot, atmosphere was is beautifully done, I loved the open kitchen and the bar had a cool backlight touch in the evening. Cocktails, was crafted perfectly! Loved my Grand Slam with a touch of maple. We started off with their rustic bread, as simple as bread sound, they took it up a notch and adding black truffle salt to it. For appetizer we had their Grilled Octopus, the octopus was cooked perfectly, loved the little bit of char touch to it. The Deviled eggs, with roe and maryland crab, right amount of creaminess. For entree, my boyfriend had the Muscovy Duck Confit, the meat so fall of the bone tender, lentil salad paired flawlessly! I on the other hand got the Ribeye steak, that was cooked to the 't' of the temperature I requested. I loved the fingerling potatoes that came with it and the salsa verde made the steak just that more flavorful. To end the night, we had the Apples Poached in Red Wine desert, wow!!!!! The creativity to this desert is on point, all the right flavor with the beautifully done poached apples and the vanilla-honey yogurt, flavor galore. I could not pass on anything coffee so also had the Chocolate Pot de Creme desert. The rich chocolate paired with the lightest coffee cream, the balance of two definitely satisfied my sweet craving. Got the french toast and it was very well made, however, the portions are smaller than average. I was fine with mine, but others in my party were not satisfied after their meals. Especially because you would expect some food for the price. The service was really good and the atmosphere was nice. The only major downside for me is the cost. We have been here 3 times you heard it right 3 times and they have never disappointed us. We have tried dish after dish just amazing to die for.. from the mussels, the octopus, the local hush puppies I can keep going and going... Did someone say brunch? The Farm & Fork is the place to go. My husband and I went with a couple of friends. It was a great choice from start to finish. The place was easy to find, plenty of parking, our server Cindy was on top of her game very attentive but not overbearing. Nice selection on the brunch menu. The drinks were perfect. I had the Goose Creek Cocktail. For an entree I had the Three Meat Hash. It was well presented and delicious. The other three dishes that were ordered were The Farm Fresh Breakfast, Smoked Salmon Platter and a Burger Platter My only disappointment about my visit was I didn't take any pictures to go along with with this review. I will need to go again to correct my mistake. So give the Farm & Fork a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

This review for brunch only, not dinner. We visited on their first day offering brunch service. I've really been looking forward to brunch since we visit often for dinner and drinks, but sadly it was a huge disappointment. We ordered the pastry "basket" (not in a basket), eggs Benedict with crab and the burger. The drinks - sangria and mule- were delicious. The eggs Benedict were served cold. The eggs yolks were not runny and had a paste-like consistency when I cut into them. The whites were very runny. I let the waiter know and he came back with another plate. No change on the 2nd plate, although the temperature was a hint of warm. They had forgotten to include the crab and brought it over in a tiny ramekin. I barely ate any of it and didn't get the chance to tell the wait staff because no one came over to check if the second plate was better. The service is usually on point, but today I think they were trying to figure things out or maybe they were avoiding us? My BF got the burger, which was flavorful. However, he asked for medium well and it was definitely well and dry. The bacon made the bread bun quite greasy, so we used a fork and knife to eat it. The fries were crispy and delicious. Overall, the brunch was a total miss for us. I ended up eating 1/2 of the burger as my meal. I'd suggest giving them a try for dinner definitely, but they need some time work out the brunch kinks. read more

We came to Farm & Fork for my best friend's birthday brunch! We arrived a few minutes late but we were seated right away. The restaurant is smaller than I expected and nestled in a nice strip mall. The vibe was farmhouse with the layout and decor. The staff were friendly and attentive. We got started right away by ordering drinks, 2 Prosecco mules and a mimosa. The mule was the favorite of the table. For entrees we had a traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs which arrived not so scrambled and then runny. And 2 of the meaty skillet bowls which definitely lived up to the name. It was a heaping portion (mostly white potatoes) and flavorful meat with eggs over medium. For dessert we shared the apple bread pudding. It wasn't the best but not terrible I expected more flavor. We were enjoying our conversation and drinks before realizing they close at 3. I never leave reviews but I truly could not believe how bad this meal was. We were served produce that was going rotten so 2 out of 3 of us had meals with that funky taste/smell. On top of that the muscles and my duck confit was insanely salty but I was too embarrassed already after the rotten food complaint. I am not used to ever giving that sort of feedback. The manager was nice, apologized and comped us for 1 meal. I really was looking forward to this place as the menu looked amazing but wow I don't think I have had a worse meal. read more

Went here two day ago for an early dinner. We arrived a little after 6PM and the restaurant was mostly empty. Couple of tables and people at the bar. We were seated immediately and our server was prompt. Drinks and appetizers came out fast. For apps, we had the deviled eggs (plain, not with the topping options) and their take on hush puppies. Both were fantastic. For dinner she had the Rockfish filler and I had the braised beef. My wife enjoyed her meal, so no issues there. The braised ribs were great. Super tender and well seasoned. The grits were on the watery side of creamy. The red wine jus was overpowered by the red wine vinegar used in the recipe. Way too much vinegar to the point that nobody tasted it before sending it out. If the grits were thicker and the jus had less red wine vinegar, the whole dish would have been a hit. read more

Pretty solid, fresh and healthy farm to table restaurant. The service was prompt because it was relatively quiet on a weekday. The food was good but nothing amazing so I would definitely give this place a 3.5 stars I'm not sure if I would be back, but maybe I would, and try something else on the menu. I really liked the deviled eggs and I thought that they were prepared very well. I tried the Amish chicken and while the chicken was tender it had a little bit of an odd flavor, and I am sure it could've been cooked a bit better. I took my family here on the recommendation of a friend. Chef Jorge Chicas has brought his DC and worldly top chef talent to Ashburn and it's indeed fantastic. The food is excellent. We started with the eggplant meatballs and even if you don't like eggplant, ie my wife, you'll still love them. We also had the chicken croquettes and the grilled octopus and wow. I was very excited for the entrees. My kids are picky but they love great food, 12 year old daughter had Amish chicken and nothing left on her plate. My son who is 9 had the pork loin which was huge by the way, he ate everything. My wife in my opinion had the best dish which were the scallops. They were decadent. I had the yellowtail which was the weakest dish, slightly overcooked and dry. We had the pot de crème for dessert. Drinks were delicious and flavorful. This was a great place for brunch. The decor was lovely, very welcoming. It was not noisy and it looked like they had a full bar. Our server did a wonderful job. He was courteous and helpful. He knew the seasonal ice cream flavors and the ingredients of the cappuccino. Farm and Fork Kitchen had a small plates menu as well as the regular brunch choices. We had deviled eggs, a chicken sandwich, chicken croquettes, a delicious fancy grilled cheese plus ice cream for dessert. Delicious and beautifully presented. Sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine to be served when seated since the server said our table would be ready shortly. Was seated and didn't receive the wine until about 15min after we received 2 dishes already. We were also missing 2 dishes (1 was not inputted) and server insisted we received it when we clearly did not get it. Empty plates were not cleared until we had to ask for them to be cleared. Service left a lot to be desired... felt like we had to keep scanning the restaurant for service and the lack of apology from management on having to wait 20min for our table to be ready. I was severely disappointed, the octopus appetizer was overcooked, the mashed potatoes were bland, the short rib was bland, and the carrot's accompanying the dish were stone cold. The lobster was very overcooked and had a very chewy texture, they were served with elbow macaroni. The deviled eggs were also average at best. The concept seems promising but I believe the restaurant has many issues to resolve. The service was good and the management was friendly. read more

My family truly enjoyed our dinner here. We ordered and shared the rockfish, the scallops, a NY strip and a kids grilled cheese. Every dish was executed perfectly. The fish and scallops had a nice seer. The steak came exactly as my son ordered. We ate every single bite. In addition to the food, the cocktails were fantastic. All in all, highly recommend. I ordered Eggs Benedict and I never knew that you could poach an egg with the result being a rubbery yolk and slimy white...but they have mastered that art! The Hollandaise was hard to discern as it was mixed in with the slimy egg whites. The waitress did ask if I liked my eggs runny but I assumed she meant the yellow! I rarely send anything back but I made an exception ...they replaced my meal with a nice looking under seasoned frittata with undercooked vegetables. We also ordered the pastry basket for $15. It was ok but looked nothing like the pictures online. I really wanted to like this place...great location for us, nice ambience inside and a charming outdoor seating area. My family and I celebrated my B-day dinner at Farm & Fork. The manager (I can't recall his name) was very attentive ensuring we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The meals were creative and presented beautifully. My oldest and I ordered the Strip Steak. Both were cooked to perfection. My youngest chose the Scallops and husband Rockfish. We have a home at the beach so I typically do not order seafood when in VA but both the Scallops and RockFish were fabulous. It would be wonderful to see a few extra GF options added. The owners wife was hosting friends (4 people) for dinner and they were unbelievably loud. Shrieking distastefully as if they were at a football game or club. Unfortunately after being asked multiple times by various waitstaff to quiet down they would just laughed followed by looking around to see who was complaining; just about everyone was... no apologizes from the wife or an attempt to make their other paying patrons more comfortable; unfortunately the attitude of the wife was its our restaurant and we will do as we please... We won't be returning and they will surely be just fine without our patronage. The food was decent, some hit dishes some miss dishes, but we all agreed that its expensive for the quality. Though Chicas is a specialist in Mediterranean cuisine, his menu suffers from a lack of ambition. Dishes lean in the direction of roasted chicken, deviled eggs, and steak. They're prepared well, but there's little about which to get truly excited.".
