Farm House is located near my place so my partner and I went over for a nice brunch one weekend. I do love how it looks on the outside with vines covering the building. It is tucked away in Belmont, behind one of the busier plazas. Our waiter was nice but there was someone else, a hostess I think? That was waiting for us to order and she kinda rolled her eyes when we needed more time, and that made me a little uncomfy. The place wasn't busy yet either! There were only about 4-5 tables being served. I got an iced latte and usually I don't love iced lattes on their own without some sort of flavor, but their coffee is very good quality so it was delicious. I had a breakfast skillet that had steak, tater tots, mushrooms, and poached egg. Very hearty and yummy. My partner got a liege waffle which I had never heard of. Its denser, kind of like the difference between a croissant and kouign amann. Baked brie was fantastic and that roasted garlic really upped the flavor and quality. I do wish they gave more bread though. We had a lot more brie and roasted garlic leftover with no bread to scoop it up. We took the rest home :) All in all a great place, just a bit too pricey for me to come regularly read more

Food was very fresh, and the portions were generous - two dishes were enough for two. We ordered the Pear & Walnut Salad and the Baked Brie, and both were packed with flavor. The restaurant was kind enough to split the salad and brought it in 2 plates. The baked brie was hands down my favorite, and the combination of fresh pears and caramelized walnuts was also so good. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic cabin feel that makes it a great date night spot. They even bring out a candle for the table in the evening, which adds a nice touch. The staff were warm, attentive, and very polite throughout our meal. The restroom was clean, and finding street parking right outside was easy enough. It was surprisingly quiet on a weekday evening, though I have a feeling it's much busier on weekends. I've been here twice and the experiences were so different from each other. I came here for dinner with a group and had a great experience. The food was so good. We ordered different plates and got to taste a little bit of everything. Every dish was delicious. Because of the great dinner experience, I decided to come here with my husband for brunch on a Friday morning. I had heard that brunch was even better than dinner so I was so excited to bring him. Tried to give these guys another shot for Easter brunch. Bottom line, not going back. I made a reservation on OpenTable. Given my prior experience, I called to confirm the reservation and asked since I had reserved for outside whether they had any available tables inside. The guy was like "you reserved an outside table" I said, "right, I'm wondering if you have any inside tables available". He said "if we had them you would've seen them. ". I mean, it's not unreasonable to think that a restaurant would have only some of their inventory on OpenTable or maybe that's something would change. This guy was just a jerk. We were seated fine at an outside table - a bit awkward in that the three of us were at a two top, which basically meant that someone had to sit out in the aisle, and people were rushing by us all the time. No big deal. Anyway, service was super slow and painful. Had to ask for things multiple times the server warned us in advance that everything was going to be super slow today because the restaurant was full. She was basically inattentive and completely uninterested. Said all the perfunctory things, but wouldn't even make eye contact and just went through the absolute basic motions. As promised, everything was extremely slow. Steak frites was decent. A bit fatty and chewy. Waffle came with berries but no syrup so was super dry and had to ask for syrup. Scrambled eggs and bacon were fine. Overall was just a bit overpriced and average. The crowning insult was just after we paid our bill and we were sitting for a minute to finish our beverages, the server came over and said "I need this table in two minutes so you have to leave". Given how slow everything was I thought that was pretty rude. Even if it is their policy. We weren't lingering or over occupying the table and anyway we were about to leave so that was pretty unnecessary. One final thing that was pretty gross was it is a dog friendly patio, which is fine, but the servers were going by and petting this big dog. Decided to try somewhere new for brunch and left pretty disappointed. We came on a Friday afternoon and there was only one group seated at that time. We ordered the brisket omelette based on our server's recommendation, but it was pretty underwhelming. I know an omelette isn't the flashiest dish, but I expected a lot more. The eggs were really dry and under seasoned, and the brisket, which should've been the star, didn't stand out at all. It came with a small side salad and a small portion of tots, which were fine but nothing special. The server was friendly and checked on us a few times, so service was okay. This spot completely is a hidden gem. The restaurant has a wonderful feel with cute decor decorating both the inside and the outside seating areas. The food was spectacular. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and paired wonderfully with delicious cabbage, the mussels were flawless, and the panna cotta had an amazing texture and flavor. Best of all, the service was exceptionally attentive. They kindly accommodated us by changing our table when the guests next to us got too loud, and they even threw in extra cabbage for free. Years ago I came here for dinner and it was great. However, I recently came here for lunch and the vibes felt a bit different. Service was good. We were seated at our reservation time and the staff was attentive. My issue is that the food options are now very basic. Eggs with tater tots, grilled chicken sandwich with fries, etc. I enjoyed my sandwich but I could get it at any pub. The decor also didn't give off "farm house" ambience, and the indoor dining room was fairly chilly. Not a bad place to eat, but nothing worth going out of my way for (at least for brunch). read more

Recently I dined at Farm House. It was not the best. We ordered the baked Brie, short rib, bucatini pasta with wild mushrooms and buttermilk fried chicken. The baked Brie was so gooey and paired well with the crackers, garlic, arugula and fig jam on the plate. It's a lot of fun because you get to put all the toppings on your piece of Brie. The short rib was tender and the sauce was rich, but way too bitter to my liking. The wild mushroom pasta was creamy and delicious, but could be enhanced with a bit of acid. The fried chicken was juicy. It was served with 3 cheese macaroni, corn bread and parsley. I didn't know what to do with the parsley. Overall, the meal looked and sounded better than it tasted. It's good food in a nice, homey neighborhood setting. The service and ambiance make it 5 stars but the food is one star less. I had the Warm Napa Cabbage Salad and while it tasted fine, it was swimming in liquid. Every forkful required a bit of dripping time before eating it. At the end there was roughly a 1/4 cup of liquid at the bottom of the bowl. I have had the same dish at other restaurants and while a bit of liquid is expected from the wilting of the cabbage, I have never had it plated and presented this way. OMG! The people who leave reviews on here are ridiculous!! The one guy below me with the 3 strikes? Because they got your drink order wrong? (I'm sure they corrected it!) and a few reviews below that with the lady that said the short ribs were good but the sauce was too rich? (Maybe you're used to eating bland things!) Anyways, had brunch here on Father's Day. As you can imagine, the place was pretty packed. Lucky for us we had reservations. We had to manipulate the reservations a bit as our party slightly grew. No problem. They were very accommodating! They sat us right away as I'm guessing we had reservations? We had a young child with us. They immediately brought us a small bowl of fruits for her. WOW!! I am impressed! That's definitely a nice touch. Never seen that before. I'm used to seeing the crayons and coloring paper. Our meals were delicious! Everyone at out table loved their meals. Love the tots over fries and home potatoes. Will definitely be back for brunch again and definitely have dinner here someday. They have a really cozy outdoor area which I would love to try on a really hot day! Inside is very nicely decorated also. I think I will probably add this place as one of my local favorites. I came here for lunch, and I really enjoyed it. I had the cubed steak hash with tater tots (potunga?) and the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. This place is fantastic. Quaint and homey with an adorably charming outside area. We ordered eggs Benedict with Bacon, minus the ham, and the breakfast burger. The eggs on the Benedict were poached perfectly, which I very much appreciate. Not only were they poached perfectly, but the eggs themselves were beautiful. Very fresh with that vibrant bright marigold color. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and delectable. The breakfast burger was amazing! It comes served on Filone bread which I thought went perfect with the burger. This bread is similar to ciabatta. Crusty on the outside, with a good chew on the inside. Firm enough to handle all the contents of the burger, but soft and chewy on the inside. The meat itself, chuck and brisket, was sensational. I'm not the type of person to ever order a burger without cheese but this burger could've definitely stood alone. Melted Monterey Jack, thick slices of bacon, fresh slices of avocado, and a perfectly cooked runny egg were just added bonuses. There was something on this burger that had a slight sweetness. I don't know if it was the samurai sauce that they put on it or the bacon, but it was delicious. I love that. It came served with a light salad tossed in vinaigrette as well. Coffee was served beautifully with a nice frothy head. Service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing. Our server, Da, was so sweet and made our experience even that much more wonderful. Can't wait to come back. My one gripe was the size of the potatoes that came served with the eggs Benedict and the burger. This is not a cheap place to eat. For two of us to have breakfast with one coffee and an iced tea is $60 before tip. Don't be so chinsy on the tater tots and French fries. 10 tater tots? Come on now. It's not caviar. It's potatoes. I don't need a mountain of them just a decent portion. I almost knocked off a star for that, but everything else, specifically the service, warrants the five stars. Came here for Easter brunch and I arrived a bit earlier than my appointment as they had originally asked if I could arrive earlier than my booking time. When I showed up, it wasn't too busy, yet I stood in the doorway with the hostess talking to a staff and other staff were squeezing around us because let's face it, we were standing there longer than we should have waiting to be seated. I wanted to give this place a try since new ownership took over. After getting seated, I had to flag down our waiter to take our order because we were just sitting watching her check in on other tables. After the food arrived, she checked on us before I had even taken a bite. Then they were rushing to clear our table even though there was still food on my plate and I had literally just put my fork down to get a sip of water. Once we said we were done, they stopped checking on us and I had to flag someone down just to get my check. I was thoroughly annoyed by the lack of awareness with where we were at with each stage of the meal. Food was alright. Mac and cheese sauce was broken and gritty, flavor was good otherwise. Kids were even shocked by the odd timing of service. Also had to flag someone down to get another $8 passionfruit lemonade, which was yummy. No worries, they still got full tip in addition to the employee living wage fee. I just won't be coming back. Despite it being some of the same staff as previous owner, service went downhill. read more

What really threw me off was when the waitress picked up a visibly dirty blanket off the ground and put it on my table, which felt pretty gross and unprofessional. Food: Appetizer - Baked Brie: The baked brie was actually really good, but it definitely needed more toast. It only came with six small charcuterie-style pieces, which wasn't nearly enough to enjoy all of the brie properly. Sure, you can eat the brie without it, but it's just not the same. Main - Farm House Burger: The burger was cooked well, but it was surprisingly bland. I even added Swiss cheese and avocado, and somehow it still had almost no flavor. The fries were definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly salted. That said, for a meal that cost over thirty dollars, serving it with basic Heinz ketchup felt a little strange and cheap. Ambience: The ambience was fine, nothing special. I have been to Farm House for both dinner and brunch and I will say the brunch here is way better than the dinner. BUT the service is consistently great during both times. They have a good sized outdoor seating that has been renovated since pandemic. Parking is abundant as it's a residential area. For dinner, I find the portions to be much smaller and pricier than brunch. I had their pork loin and the flavors were ok but the pork was a little tough. The biscuit sliders were great but it didn't feel worth it. Lastly the truffle mac, though a small portion, this was my favorite. It was cheesy goodness. Sad it's not on the menu anymore. Onto brunch. Friday afternoon, no wait. Plenty of indoor seating because everyone was outdoors but even then there was no wait. My family and I shared the Colossal Omelette, Peaches & Cream French Toast, and Salmon Hash. The Colossal Omelette didn't disappoint. It really was collossal. The egg was silky and complimented the tasty brisket. The salmon hash had a great flavor. The salmon was still slightly raw for our tasting but it was really good. The potatoes on both dishes were seasoned well. Lastly the Fresh Toast was a tasty end. The apple sausage was not as fatty and had good flavor. The blueberry lemonade was too tart for my tasting. The french toast is the best thing ever. The portions are large. My daughter and I had the french toast and brisket omelet to share. It was literally enough for 3 people. For drinks we had iced latte, mocha coffee, and a blood orange mimosa. Everything was excellent including service. The inside was a bit noisy for me so we decided to eat outside. It was not the best day, windy, but they had heaters and blankets. The chairs are hard, ice cream parlor style, and a cushion would have been appreciated, and that is my only critique. The chicken in my sandwich was not dry and perfectly crispy on the outside. 5/26/24 We came here again for lunch, but this time we brought Zach's parents also since we really enjoyed the food here last time. Zach was giving them a choice between Farm House and BJ's.... The choice couldn't have been more obvious! Lol Here's what we got: - Baked brie for the table - Zach's mother and I got the fried chicken sandwich - Colossal omelet (Zach) - Crab cake benedict (Zach's father) The baked brie was really delicious and smooth. I ended up getting the fried chicken sandwich again since it was so good the first time. I'm happy to report that it was also great on the second visit. The colossal omelet lives up to its name since it is a lot of eggs! Zach enjoyed his dish and Zach's father also had high praise for the crab cake benedict. Farmhouse was a wonderful location to celebrate our aunt's 90th birthday - the staff are remarkably gracious and patient, particularly after a few mis-communications due to our aunt's hearing problem.
