Great casual cafe for brunch. This is where you go for old school homey brunch, maybe even regularly, and not the trendy Instagramable brunch with fusion dishes. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the food. I got the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns, eggs over easy and pancakes (hotcakes). The chicken fried steak was good, the hashbrowns crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with lots of buttery flavor, and the pancakes were perfectly fluffy. My family and I have been dinning here for as long as I can remember! This place holds such a dear spot in my heart. The service is always top tier, the servers and wait staff are always so kind and have great recommendations if you're looking to try something new! They're really attentive and helpful! The ambiance is so nice too, over the years this place has gotten a much needed make over and it looks great! I Love the outdoor seating in the patio area as well as the seating on the side of the building! So nice especially on a nice sunny morning. The food is absolutely delicious, they have a combination of Mexican and American breakfast and some items that are a mix of the two! I really wanted to try the Joe's omelette but what turned me off was that the lady told me the mix is pre-made so you can't ask for any substitutions. We ended up ordering; 1. Corn beef hash with hashbrowns and Sourdough toast - The corn beef was flavorful and the hashbrowns were crispy just how I like it. The toast complimented it perfectly. I liked that the toast wasn't burnt like some places. 2. All meat omelette - Super flavorful and not greasy. I appreciate that the eggs were not watery and runny. It wasn't super cheesy and I like that they had added onions to give it a crunch. The house potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Overall, a very good experience. I decided to duck out of today's atmospheric river and grab some breakfast. So, I stopped at Little Belmont Cafe... a great, local family-owned diner that I have visited in the past. I ordered the Modesto Special. It's a muy delicioso scramble with spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The service was quick and friendly. I'm not a regular... yet. But I noticed a lot of families and other patrons arriving for brunch. They were warmly greeted by the wait staff. We've been dining at Little Belmont for more than 15 years. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly family service and a comfortable and convenient setting. They have always been 5 stars-before, during and after the pandemic. The real mark of a merchant is what they do when something isn't up to expectations. We had a rare instance of this this weekend. About the only criticism I have for this place is that it's hard to find a parking space (or leave) with cars rolling into the street right off 101. But maybe that's a good thing. I was running an errand close by and I did a Yelp search for "pancakes" and lo and behold, it said that Little Belmont Cafe was about .8 miles away. The cakes are terrific ---really everything here is too, from the friendly, attentive service and coffee refills. I had the 2/2/2 special for breakfast: 2 cakes, 2 soft scrambled eggs and 2 bacon strips, all done pretty well. I like my cakes in between thin and thick and these hit the spot. Thirsty for syrup that came out of these cool tall bottles, they really hit the spot. The bacon was crisp. The eggs, while not entirely soft, were quite good and at least they weren't rubbery. Server was always around if I needed something, or that extra refill of coffee. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I would have never seen this place. Worth another trip to try out the omelettes and the Mexican items I saw on the menu. Great job! read more
