Great casual cafe for brunch. This is where you go for old school homey brunch, maybe even regularly, and not the trendy Instagramable brunch with fusion dishes. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the food. I got the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns, eggs over easy and pancakes (hotcakes). The chicken fried steak was good, the hashbrowns crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with lots of buttery flavor, and the pancakes were perfectly fluffy. Food was a bit on the greasy side but it's what gives this place the classic diner feel. read more

Unpretentious Cafe off of 101S. Food is mostly unseasoned out of the kitchen but that just allows you to use their homemade hot sauce on everything. It's actually a good thing if you are a watching your sodium intake. It has a very mild heat level but flavorful so definitely ask for it if not offered. And yes, it's definitely better than the Tapatio on the table. read more

My family and I have been dinning here for as long as I can remember! This place holds such a dear spot in my heart. The service is always top tier, the servers and wait staff are always so kind and have great recommendations if you're looking to try something new! They're really attentive and helpful! The ambiance is so nice too, over the years this place has gotten a much needed make over and it looks great! I Love the outdoor seating in the patio area as well as the seating on the side of the building! So nice especially on a nice sunny morning. The food is absolutely delicious, they have a combination of Mexican and American breakfast and some items that are a mix of the two! I love all the omelets they have and I'm a huge fan what they include with your entrees! You can either get a pancake, toast or I believe a biscuit/muffin and then hash browns or country potato's. The food was good overall, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I found a hair in my eggs, and my father also found a hair in his eggs, which was disappointing. To help prevent this from happening in the future, I would suggest that all kitchen staff wear hairnets. Aside from that issue, we had a pleasant experience. read more

This place has a lot of seating indoor and outdoor. It's simply decorated. I was greeted right away and placed my to go order. I really wanted to try the Joe's omelette but what turned me off was that the lady told me the mix is pre-made so you can't ask for any substitutions. We ended up ordering; 1. Corn beef hash with hashbrowns and Sourdough toast - The corn beef was flavorful and the hashbrowns were crispy just how I like it. The toast complimented it perfectly. I liked that the toast wasn't burnt like some places. 2. All meat omelette - Super flavorful and not greasy. I appreciate that the eggs were not watery and runny. It wasn't super cheesy and I like that they had added onions to give it a crunch. The house potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Overall, a very good experience. I decided to duck out of today's atmospheric river and grab some breakfast. So, I stopped at Little Belmont Cafe... a great, local family-owned diner that I have visited in the past. I ordered the Modesto Special. It's a muy delicioso scramble with spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes. The service was quick and friendly. I'm not a regular... yet. But I noticed a lot of families and other patrons arriving for brunch. They were warmly greeted by the wait staff. They have consistently delicious, inexpensive options like steak and eggs, club sandwiches, coffee, orange juice, soup, salad, coleslaw cottage cheese, pancakes, omelettes, bacon, sausage, and breakfast burritos. I had the Mexican Omelette with chorizo, onions, cheese and it was yummy. Right amount of spices and went with the eggs perfectly - I did use their homemade hot sauce generously but mainly because it was so good. Large portions and good pancakes too! We've been dining at Little Belmont for more than 15 years. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly family service and a comfortable and convenient setting. They have always been 5 stars-before, during and after the pandemic. The real mark of a merchant is what they do when something isn't up to expectations. We had a rare instance of this this weekend. Besides personal apologies, an adjustment to the bill was made. They truly are 5 star people. read more

About the only criticism I have for this place is that it's hard to find a parking space (or leave) with cars rolling into the street right off 101. But maybe that's a good thing. I was running an errand close by and I did a Yelp search for "pancakes" and lo and behold, it said that Little Belmont Cafe was about .8 miles away. The cakes are terrific ---really everything here is too, from the friendly, attentive service and coffee refills. I had the 2/2/2 special for breakfast: 2 cakes, 2 soft scrambled eggs and 2 bacon strips, all done pretty well. I like my cakes in between thin and thick and these hit the spot. Thirsty for syrup that came out of these cool tall bottles, they really hit the spot. The bacon was crisp. The eggs, while not entirely soft, were quite good and at least they weren't rubbery. Server was always around if I needed something, or that extra refill of coffee. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I would have never seen this place. Worth another trip to try out the omelettes and the Mexican items I saw on the menu. Great job! read more

I do wish they gave more bread though. We had a lot more brie and roasted garlic leftover with no bread to scoop it up. I don't mind restaurants charging premium prices during holidays, especially if they enhance the experience with add-ons, but what this restaurant did is straight-up robbery. There was no special acknowledgment for moms (like a flower, a card, or even a simple greeting). Just a surprise limited Mother's Day brunch menu for $59/pp that included bakery bites, a choice of entree, and mini sweet bites, with "no substitutions allowed", which my hubby didn't know about. Drinks were not included in this offer, not even coffee. Since we had driven for over 30 minutes, we decided to give it a go. We started with two coffees, which were delicious and pretty much the highlight of our meal. Unfortunately, they don't carry any non-dairy creamers, which is a bit unusual nowadays, especially for brunch places, but we made it work. Our server kept our Lavazza coffees refilled, which was much appreciated. Now let's break down what you actually get for $59: -Bakery bites (3/5): Small baked items randomly thrown on a plate. Other tables received their baked goods with some special butter, which we didn't get and sadly didn't notice until later in the meal. The bamboloni were excellent, but the potato croquette was severely underseasoned and needed a ton of salt; everything else was mid. Not the greatest start, but ok. -Half Bourbon chicken (2/5): My dish was barely lukewarm--no melty provolone cheese-pull, no crispy skin. The white meat was ok, but as soon as I got to the drum part and I saw hot pink, that was the end for me. -Eggs Benedict (3/5): If there is barely any Hollandaise sauce, can you still call this Eggs Benedict? Take a look at the photos and tell me what you think. This wasn't the only ingredient they skimped on. The amount of Canadian bacon on one of the muffins was pathetic (covering only half of the muffin). This dish was also not hot by any means. But because the egg was cooked well, the added spinach was nice, and the potatoes were crispy, we let it slide. - Mini sweet bites (2/5): When this dish arrived, we both almost burst out laughing because of the presentation. It looked like someone had cut themselves and bled all over the plate while cutting the world's tiniest cake slices. Both the chocolate cake and cheese cakes were so thinly sliced (not even half an inch thick) that they couldn't stand. This was supposed to be for two (!) people, but one of us could have easily eaten everything on the plate and would have still been hungry. We left this restaurant feeling ripped off. According to their website, the chicken is $29, and the Eggs Benedict are $19. That means the 5 small pasties and the fractional cake slices cost $30 and $40, respectively. This isn't a reasonable markup. It's greed and total disregard for your customers. If that's how you run your business, no thank you. We will not be back.
