A 530am trip to Home Depot for sod only to be disappointed because there was no sod delivery and the sod that was available was yellow and dry. Good for me because it forced me to search Yelp for alternatives and that's how I found Farm to Lawn and the amazing Eddie. I like to call him the sod God - not only for his extensive knowledge of the green stuff but because his place is truly the holy grail of sod! You need sod for a project big or small? Eddie and Farm to Lawn is *the* place to go. Don't even bother with Home Depot or Lowe's...their sod is no where near the quality of Eddie's. Even more fantastic is the fact that Eddie's sod is 1/2 the size of the big box stores so it's much easier to manage especially if you're installing it yourself (I did). Eddie shared tips and good info to get my sod established, healthy and fertilized. Farm to Lawn has several varieties of sod so there's one perfect for your unique needs. There's even a dirtless sod for your pet - this was new to me, what a cool thing for your pets (and I understand it's much less expensive than those monthly subscriptions). The price was comparable to HD, but the service, availability, quality and ease of use is 100 times better than the home improvement stores....plus Eddie is a gem. Found this place on Facebook Marketplace after doing a Google search. The owner, Eddie, was knowledgeable and helpful. Asked me the area I needed to cover and quickly figured out how much I needed. He was pretty accurate and only had a half section leftover. The price was reasonable and better than any other place I checked. He also makes great recommendations based on how you plan to use the space. I would go back and recommend him to anyone looking for sod either a large yard or a small space. read more

I literally had a dying lawn because my son decided he was going to be a dragon fruit farmer. He put planters and planters of dragon fruit on the front lawn. The grass slowly started dying so he moved his plants to the backyard to what we now call the Dragon's Den and Dragon's Alley. After he moved his plants I couldn't get the grass to grow back. It was so sad. We were starting to look like the house on Shameless. After debating between seed and sod in California's winter I got several quotes from several places starting with my own gardener. Everyone suggested sod because of timing of the installation. I received quotes starting at $1500 to almost $3000 for St. Augustine. (turns brownish in the winter) After a little research I found Ed. Ed is great. He is a plethora of all things grass. He gave us great instructions on how to clear out the old lawn and options for handling roots on a big magnolia tree. He also mentioned rain was expected on Sunday so we may have to wait because it's hard to pick up sod when it's wet. The minute we left we rented a tiller and a water roller so we could try to beat the rain. My son, his wife and my niece started working late Friday evening. By Saturday night the yard was cleared out free from weeds, rocks, etc and topsoil was mixed in. Then we got light showers. Sunday morning we called Ed to see if the sod was dry enough to pick up and luckily it was. My son and my niece went in 2 trucks to pick up 630sqf of sod. They asked if they could help pull the sod from the ground while they chatted it up. Thankfully they did because it started sprinkling again. Turned the ground into a mudslide. They had the best laughs slipping and sliding around wearing slippers LMAO. Anyways they got home, unloaded and laid down the first truckload of sod so my niece could go back and pick up the rest. They finished the install an hour before it started pouring rain. 4 weeks later we have the most gorgeous marathon green all year round lawn. The roots have taken well to the soil. This was all done in 2 days by 3 inexperienced 23 year olds at less than half cost of my lowest quote. Not to mention the memories made and the pride they feel everytime they see the green green grass. Ed thank you so much for all of your words of wisdom! read more

I went here yesterday to pick up some some, it was my first time sodding and I was a little nervous. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly, helped me select the perfect grass for two big dogs and walked me through the process of successful laying of sod. This place is great! I have been paying $60 a month for a dog grass patch delivery service (online subscription) and found out that this place also offers the same dog grass patch for only $10! The size is the same as the one I used to order online, and the quality is even better since this one is a "dirt-less" version, so the patch leaves no mess behind! Eddie is so nice! I came here to get indoor grass for my dog, and he knew exactly what I needed. It was only $10 for a roll of sod, while another dog grass company charges $55 per roll.
