We eat at Farmer Boys for lunch quite often. I have never had breakfast or dinner there. We usually get the Cobb salad and split one order between my wife and I. Even then, each of us gets more than enough. I put honey mustard dressing dressing on my half and my wife puts blue cheese dressing on hers. Occasionally we get the fried fish with zucchini sticks and split a single order. Again, enough that we sometimes take a piece of fish home. We know the food will always be great. read more

Very good, fresh burgers. It is in a convenient location, around many stores and buildings, great to stop by for lunch or dinner. Be aware, that the burger and sandwich servings can be large. They also have a convenient drive thru for the times you aren't able to sit and dine inside. The best quality is the freshness and flavorful taste of the burgers. read more

This was my first time eating here. I didn't really care for the whole ordering at the counter then seating yourself thing. It's sort of a fast food setup, not really what I was expecting when we went there for breakfast. The food was just ok. I ordered the bacon boy burger (decided to try a burger rather than breakfast food) with half fries and half onion rings. It was just two of us but it took more than half an hour to get our food. When it did come my fries and rings were cold. The burger wasn't cold but it wasn't much above room temperature. The burger was decent enough I guess. Nothing special though. The onion rings were huge, which I normally like but these were kinda ridiculous. Like half an onion in width. They weren't crispy so they were kind of hard to eat. They only gave me two and I only ate one. The fries were crispy and pretty good considering they were cold. They served them with a little cup of watery ranch dressing. The service was good. The waitresses were friendly and good at their jobs. I doubt I'll be back though. Overall disappointing. read more

Every time we go through the drive thru, the order is wrong. We repeat our order, they confirm and always missing items. We pay extra for avocado and they leave it out. It's irritating to get home and see your order is wrong. Can't even blame it on big crowds and busy employees, the weekends are practically empty and still, always wrong. Also, it's Important to note that the management there is terrible. The service is horrible. Just because people live in the Imperial valley doesn't mean we deserve such poor service. I like breakfast at any time of the day, so the fact that I could order it for lunch was a plus. Two of my 3 supposedly over easy eggs were closer to over medium, which is always a bummer when you're looking forward to dipping your sourdough toast in a runny yolk. One piece of my bacon was charred; I love crispy bacon, but this was overdone. Still, the other egg and 3 (? maybe 4) pieces of bacon were tasty and plenty to fill me up along with the sourdough toast and tomato slices. I appreciate the choice of sides; potatoes would have been too much with all the other food. I got there at around 1 and it was still very busy. A table became available within a couple of minutes and there was an employee stationed in the dining room who wiped it down immediately. Went for lunch with my family on a Sunday...cashier took our order and was very nice. My husband ordered chile cheese with crackers, and the crackers were VERY stale we asked for more, but we were informed that they were from the same box and would probably taste the same! I ordered a breakfast burrito, and they asked me if I wanted the meal. So I got the meal. When I pulled up to the drive through, my order came up to 14.80, and I don't mind paying that much, if the food is good. The burrito was ok, but they gave me some really big zucchini, and they were really hard, and the ranch was really watered down, and the Sprite taste like carbonated water. So thank you but no thank you. You won't be getting my services again. read more

Love the salads there, fresh and big. The fried zucchini is great and love their fries (I know, I'm weird like that). Their burgers are pretty damn good too, you can't go wrong with this place. This place could easily be four stars in the "slow" fast food category. I have yet to encounter a five star winner. The only problem is the inconsistent service. Food is great. I'm always happy with the quality and taste. Especially compared to the deep fried alternatives. But the drive-thru experience is bad. They make you pull up and wait so others can be helped - and that happens all of the time to me. Not on custom orders either. Straight off the menu every time. Twice now I've been forgotten and have to go in to retrieve my order after 10 or more minutes outside. I go there a lot during the week, so I have a right to complain a little. Was really wanting to try this place.......well we did. It was a little strange at first. You order like its fast food but the prices are definitely not fast food prices. Food was average to a little above. All of our meals (3 children and 2 adults) came out at different times strangely and they forgot an order of fries. I guess what I didn't like was that their was only 4 other people there and the food took quite a long time. Also the atmosphere was extremely noisy, when i say noisy i men none of the 4 customers were talking, it was the employees. They were extremely loud and kind of obnoxious. About 4 of them were on break and sitting next to us eating lunch and they were pretty disruptive. Good morning. I drove through the local El Centro Farmer Boys yesterday and was appalled to see an assistant manager and the drive thru server not wearing gloves. The mgr. was opening boxes of products and the server was handling money and debit cards, then handing food to customers. I asked her about not using gloves and she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head no. I couldn't bring myself to eat my lunch and threw it away. Maybe they haven't heard of COVID or management doesn't care. I'll NEVER RETURN and think FARMER BOYS MANAGEMENT should pull their head out of their rear and rethink how they're managing this particular establishment. It makes me want to throw up. read more

Come here often with my girlfriend. Love the service here, the food doesn't taste as greasy as most other places in the imperial valley. It's also very clean, almost makes you feel like your not in El Centro. I usually get the farmer burger with chili cheese fries. It's a little pricey to eat here but the good service and good food makes up for it. This is one of the better burger joints out here, I recommend it. read more

We live about an hrs drive from this retaurant. After we ordered i realized i had forgotten my debit card at home, the manager insisted on paying for our meal for us. This was the greatest act of kindness i have ever experienced in any restaurant and to top it off the burgers are absolutely delicious. My sis in law lives in el centro and we always end up here or Denny's. The employees are ALWAYS without fail friendly and smiling. I can only speak on two items from the menu which are really good ans those are the biscuits and gravy and the BBQ chicken wrap. Pretty good considering its fast food.The fish sandwich was tasty and did not taste like most fast food fish sandwiches I've had. It was a tad bit better. I really love the farmers burger which has double meat, double bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and my favorite avocado If you want better food then this place then you will have to go to a five star restaurant and then you can expect perfect food. Drive thru takes long because everything is cooked to order. they don't have the food ready. Salads are really great love the farmers salad with chicken, avocado, lettuce, chicken, tomato, bacon and boiled egg in slices. Drive thru is horrible. 2nd time in a row we order from the drive thru and my order is incorrect. 3 different combos ordered and each one had something wrong with it. I was charged for avocado on a burger and never received the avocado. I went back in frustration to get my order corrected. When I returned they had run out of French fries so if I wanted any I had to eat the cold soggy ones I initially bought. I had to wait 15 additional minutes for my corrected food. The manager refused to come out to speak to me. They didn't even want to give me a discount on my current order, they gave me a 25% discount for NEXT TIME's repeat of this crap service. WTF! When I got home the "newly" cooked burgers were cold. I hardly ever Yelp, but this is ridiculous. Poor drive thru, poor service. This is why nothing lasts in the valley.
