Several years ago, this location was our introduction to Farmer Boys. We live in Arizona but look forward to our trips to El Centro for fairs and festivals or just as a stopover on the way to San Diego so we can head back in for some great food and service. Every visit has been terrific. Fantastic burgers and fries, salads, omelettes, and many other options. Their app is simple and easy to use for rewards. Haven't tried it for ordering yet. They have a nice spacious indoor eating area and a drive-thru as well. We even visited when things were shut down due to Covid-19 restrictions. We would take our food to go and eat it out in their parking lot under the shade of a nearby tree. We have also visited a location in Bakersfield and now have one in Gilbert, AZ that's not far from our house, but we always look forward to our return trips to this one on Cruickshank Drive. Be sure to ring the bell as you leave to let them know you were pleased with your visit, the food, and their service.

Always great service and fresh food. THANKS, Melina, for making our morning. Didn't even mind the wait

The little piece cause they cut it horizontal then cut the ciabatta roll diagonal

My first time here from outta town , and I'm so appalled ! I asked for no onions , and chib roll, gave me the burger and it's wrong bread and had hardcore onions , took it back and was like hey , y'all gave me a burger and this is not how I ordered nor wanted . Cool he said he will fix it no problem He's like they are going to make you a new one COOL RIGHT? No , THEY GAVE ME THE SAME BUGER JUST SCARPED OFF THE ONION! So at this point I'm done I ask for a plate to go so I can just give this food to someone in my work crew , I let them know what he did and he was like I can make you another one I was like nahh I'm cool have a good one , been on the road 3 hours I just wanted good food , steer clear cause they defiantly cut corners !!!! Sorry for the rant but this is just the worst ,

"Onion rings" this is what happened when we picked one up. Crumbled to pieces.

I don't even know where to begin. It took 30 mins for us to get our order and when it finally arrives, we were super disappointed. First off, the onions rings are a 4PC for $4.69 - yup, over a dollar an onion ring! But we would have overlooked the crazy price tag if they were actually good. Instead they arrived cold and raw with very little batter (see photo). Secondly, I ordered the sourdough chicken avocado sandwich that came with bacon, cheese, lettuce & tomato. What I got was a huge piece of chicken breast (impossible to eat in sandwich form), lettuce, tomato and a bunch of mayo. It was really not appetizing and was served as appears on photo (sorry, for the mess on the plate, I tried my bf's burger which was not great either) Manager was nice and offered to replace our food and give refund, but I just wanted to get out of there. We took the refund and won't be back. We lost our appetite waiting so long and having sub par food. Super disappointed.

First visit, this place is terrific

This is a little different from a traditional sit down restaurant. You order when you walk in, huge wall menu, delicious options. And pay. Then sit. But then they bring your food and walk around offering coffee and take your plates. The wait staff was super friendly. I was greeted at the door. They suggested a few options at our request since it was our first visit. The manager was really nice. My clam chowder was full of clams, and thick, not runny (my favorite way to eat) and the fries were crispy as stated. We'll totally be back. I hope we get one in Arizona too.

Overall 3.75/5 stars Food 4 Service 5 Cleanliness 4 Other 2 (so unhealthy) This was my first visit to a Farmer Boys. We went to another place but it was packed so we decided to give it a try. They advertise fresh, fast food so it sounded interesting. They serve breakfast and a lunch menu. The menu is heavy with hamburgers but does include salads, chicken and fried fish. We ordered fish & chips and a patty melt. The fish was pretty good though the ends were not coated as the rest. They looked like actual fish with one end the shape of a tail. Not sure what kind it was but it would be a small fry. The patty melt was a bit greasy but very good. I should have looked at the calorie and fat could before ordering. Tons of fat. 65 grams is seriously high. Chatting with others, the chicken and salads are tasty, as well-though high in calories, as well. I would recommend Farmer Boys, if you aren't watching calories or fat. It's not like I don't enjoy a splurge but the cost for this food, I'm not sure it's worth it for me.

You can always count on Farmer Boys for a awesome breakfast and a good burger. Drive thru lines are always a long wait though.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which was great in proportion and super flavorful. Never really had tacos for breakfast but these were quite tasty. If I ever go back think I'll try them with out the cornmeal taco as that was a bit heavy for me but it could've been just my preference. The service was spot on, not just our waitress asked were we good but several other passing service members and that is not something I'm used to. Don't you just love it when a restaurant gets things right?…read more Owners Roberto and Rina ("Reina") Perez have figured out how to prepare and present home cooking in a commercial setting, and, in doing so, have shown that they understand the importance of "home" in that construct. Some of this is no surprise to me. Reina is cousin to Rodnia Attiq (nee Navarro), who, with her mother Rosario Sotelo owned San Diego's El Borrego for almost 25 years, until they closed their business at the end of 2025. Having been welcomed and fed many times with homely care at El Borrego, I'm not surprised that the family connection - and the warmth and hospitality included in it - extends to Cousin Reina. If you're having a bad day, it's worth dropping in for a bite to eat just so you can say "hi" to her. Between the food and the greeting you'll receive, you'll leave feeling better about things. So what to eat? Depending on the time of day and how hungry you are, you'll be pleased with Cazuelitas; Pozole Rojo or the herby Guerrero-style Pozole Verde; hearty Tlacoyos; large Enchilada plates; or probably my favorite Mexican dish, Mixiote de Borrego, which is lamb that's spiced, marinated and slow-steamed until it falls off the bone. I've eated most of those things and seen the rest on my fellow diners' tables. Especially now that El Borrego is gone, if El Centro wasn't a two-hour drive from my house, I'd be a regular, so that I could continue sampling the superb and wide-ranging menu at Antojito Como En Casa.

I asked for pepper and Parmesan cheese and that definitely gave it more flavor! Note: make sure to ask without onions if you don't like them since the sauce comes with them. My husband said the taco salad was also ok. It wasn't a pretty big portion! Steak was good. My daughters shared the cheese penne pasta (we got the full size) and they loved it! It was really good. The garlic bread and bread and butter they gave us was also very good. The place itself was very nice, quiet, they also had lots of outdoor seating. Total for 3 plates and 4 drinks was $100.58.
