What a disappointment! I have fond memories of eating at Farmer Boys as a child but it seems over the years they have significantly cut down their portion size while increasing their prices. The 2 stars is for the great customer service we received. The workers were welcoming and even opened the door for us when we arrived. But that's where the positive feedback ends... The food prices are grossly overpriced for what you get. You get a small burger and mini fries for $10, 2 skinny chicken tenders with barely any meat on it and tiny fries for $7 (kids meal), one small burger and tiny fries for $7 (kids meal), a barely filled pastrami sandwich with 2 onion rings and 2 zucchini fries for $24. After spending over $50, we all left still hungry and unfulfilled. I mean you could have gotten the same portion and quality of food at a fat food chain for half the price. Totally overpriced. Farmer Boys have a great menu selection to choose from. Has a drive thru that makes it convenient to get your food. Does take longer than other fast food restaurants, however, the food is cooked to order and always comes out delicious. Employee are also friendly and helpful. Parking can be challenging. The parking stalls and driveways are on the narrow side. I was asked to park at a designated spot in the front for my order. But, this other customer who was also waiting parked his large vehicle in 1 1/2 spots, so I had to park in a regular parking spot. However, the employee with common sense looked around and readily found me. Awesome!!! read more

It has been a long time since I've had such a bad experience at a restaurant. The front staff and window staff were very rude. No motivation to even be there. Customer service? What customer service? The restaurant has good food but the staff have made it very clear that they don't want clients there. One of them even got loud with me. Almost as if he wanted to intimidate me, which was sad and laughable. I'm never going back to farmer boys. I went despite the price, but if they don't even have customer service, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Definitely telling my friends and family to avoid that location moving forward. read more

2nd time here and customer service is amazing and same for the food. The best burger in the fast food game, taste like a homemade charcoal grill. I'm so happy they have zucchini also, probably my fav veggie and I can eat it everyday read more

Ordered 2 things in the drive thru, a breakfast box, and chicken strips. Got my drinks and was told to move to the #1 spot where someone would bring out my food shortly. I ended up waiting 10-15 minutes, watching others walk in and walk out with their food. I walked in to see what was taking so long, turns out it was just sitting on the counter, for who knows how long. Food was good, but service needs more work. read more

The food is great here. I always come to a Farmer Boys when I'm the area. The employee was super friendly and nice. I ordered a veggie pattie, waited then it came with a natural pattie. I sent it back mistakes happen (I was charged for the natural patty which was 20 cents more) didn't complain, waited got my meal and it was the same fries now cold. I just got my meal to go as it had been 20 or mins now. I open the box at my destination, and the fries that they replaced with hot ones is half of what they took from me. I paid $15 and I got less than a value fry amount. I've got the box before and it was more than this, I could have got the regular meal for $18 and got more. She was helping me out by saving with the box. What a joke. Wasted my money. I will never go to this location again. read more

Dry, cold, overcooked, burger! Not sure if it was a delivery issue or restaurant issue but it was not a good experience.

Eating here right now. Syrup on the seats and a chef in the back shrieking some unknown song everyone can hear in the dining area. Bathrooms are disgusting. I can see why this is the lowest rated Farmer Boys in the area. Also some weird loud shrieking whistle goes off every few minutes. Will never come here again. Drive a few minutes to the next closest location. Seems like someone in the back is trying to annoy the customers. Really horrible! read more

Love the fast food here, they are nice and ready to serve. Inside is clean. Get the zucchini! It is a must!

Fast food joint with a farm fresh take. They advertise that their beef is never frozen or pumped full of additives. All the eggs they use are hand cracked. Service is on par as far as fast food restaurants go. They're a little slower than other fast food restaurants, but quality is a lot better. They do all day breakfast and they have a few salads on the menu. They also serve you here if you choose to dine in. If you feel like they did a good job, there is a bell hanging by the exit that they want you to ring on the way out... each time someone rings it, the staff all say "thank you!" The dinning room was very cold the night we ate here. They have the typical fast food dining room going on with booths lining the walls and four tops taking up the middle. There are two tables outside to sit at. The tables, chairs and floors looked clean. read more

My husband and I went to Farmer Boys for dinner tonight. Their food has always been good. Tonight we had a bad experience. I ordered a milk shake and it was terrible. It was watered down like a glass of chocolate milk. The syrup was so strong that I threw it out. My grilled cheese was also bad. Hardly any cheese and it was half the size that I normally get. We have always had such good food there. Plus tonight I am sick! I'm pretty sure it was from the chocolate milk, or whatever it was that I only drank a few sips of. What is happening to Farmer boys?? We have been going there for 30 years. The employees are still friendly. I have never complained about farmer boys! I will say your fries are the best. read more

Came here over the weekend and found live roaches in my bag as well as my food, totally gross. When I took the food back and showed the workers pictures, they let me know that they have only over had dead roaches in their packaging and never live so not to worry... dead or alive is an unacceptable so this is not an accuse. Please be careful when ordering here and check your food!! Cleanliness is extremely important when making/selling food so I hope this improves at this location. read more

I frequent Farmer Boys locations when I travel. This location prepared my special order food well and it was tasty. I was disappointed to learn AFTER ordering a meal that several of their soda choices (including all those I drink) were out of order leaving me with water as my option. I always come here for breakfast n my fiancé would bring it home after work. He has called many times for their mistake. Couple weeks ago I had egg shells in my eggs which I almost choked. This time I ask for farmers omelet add bacon and sausage no hashbrowns inside omelet But has browns on side is fine and no burnt toast no over cook eggs. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I ordered the farmer burger. My burger was somehow dry, chewy, and stretchy all at once. On top of that, it tasted worse than a burger from Jack in the box. The fries were dry and tasted like bread. My sister orders the 10 dollar chicken strips box. The strips were smaller than McDonald's nuggets and each one had a hole in it. On top of that, there was a HAIR in the bottom of the box. This order was THIRTY DOLLARS. Don't go here. THERE IS A PLACE CALLED RALLY'S JUST DOWN THE STREET. I came here not expecting much, but was thoroughly surprised. First and foremost, it was apparent that the staff is well trained in customer service. For a fast food place (although Farmer Boys doesn't consider themselves fast food), it was remarkable. Everyone was courteous and helpful from placing my order to picking up table. As far the food, it was very solid overall. Everything was served freshly made and bigger than I'd expected. I opted to sub zucchini sticks for my fries and they could compete with the fair in flavor and size. The burger was good, reminded me of a yellow basket style establishment. For 3 bucks, I tried the fresh toast sticks and while they were on the sweeter side, they were way better than I expected them to be. They came out hot and crispy. I'd come back if I'm in the area. What a blessed day in Escondido 11/16/2020 Beautiful weather, it's almost Thanksgiving! 2020 is almost over! Farmer Boys "New" crispy chicken sandwich is what brought us (after my wife's Dr.'s appt) here today. Because of the Covid-19 restrictions, there's no dining in, but they do have a few tables outside. We just drove-thru, ordered our food and ate in the car, just like going to the drive-in movie theaters, remember those days? So, everything should be made to order. Well, at least that what they say in their mission statement. Very good crispy French fries. Very good ranch dressing (get at least 2) Very good "Natural" cheeseburger . . . Yes, I really can taste the difference. ;) The "New" crispy chicken sandwich ??? Very good bun ... Fresh and soft. Chicken was moist and seasoning well with a nice crunch. I ordered the spicy. I would have liked the patty to be thicker. How does Farmer Boys "New" crispy chicken sandwich compare the competition ??? Try it for yourselves. It's a decent sandwich. I'll stick to ordering the "Natural" Avocado-Bacon-Guacamole, dbl cheeseburger w/crispy fries and ranch on the side. So they have remodeled this location (the Mission location has as well!), and they have stepped up their game. They also hosted an Elite Week, following in the footsteps of the Mission location, who hosted theirs years ago. This is for P.C., and D.C. (re-covid and during-covid). They are running fairly normal hours, with obviously no eating in the dining room. The food quality is much better. No soggy fish lately. Download the ap, and sign on when you go. They have specials, and you can earn money off rewards based on your spending total. read more

Finally came back to good old Farmer Boys. Ordered 2 cobb salads and some zucchini sticks (we are creatures of habit). The cobb salad is deliciousssssss. I'll say it again, it's delicioussssss and worth every penny of the $10.49 cost. You know it's good if I am driving from Mira mesa to Escondido for the salad. Total cost of 2 cobb salads and 1 order of zucchini sticks was about 26-28 bucks. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the zucchini was cooked all the way. read more

Maria took my order through the drive thru. I asked for a lettuce wrapped burger NO MEAL just the burger. I got to the window after I was told to pull forward and waited about 2 minutes before the window was opened for payment. Then I was asked to pull around and park. I said I'd wait at the drive through window, she then began to explain I'd have to park because there was a car behind and their order had been prepared before mine and that my order would take longer...... I'm no expert but a lettuce wrapped burger doesn't take long. With that being said I parked and waited another 5 minutes before I went inside and asked Maria to cancel my order....they weren't even close to bringing my lettuce wrap out...drive thru service isn't what it use to be. Amazingly clean. We even saw employees cleaning the trim along the ceiling while we were there. Most places struggle to get their "A" rating but this place is well into having earned it the hard way. Since before being pregnant I would go here and I give them a struggle with my order and they still manage to get everything correct. Now that I am more pickier of what I order the service is still amazing and they have patience with taking my order. Very cleaned and family oriented restaurant. Delicious! The sourdough chicken avocado sandwich is exactly how it sounds plus it has bacon. I really enjoyed the HUGE fried zucchini as a side. The zucchini itself is sweet and juicy. The fish dinner is perfect if you have a hearty appetite or like variety... or both! It comes with big pieces of fried fish, fries, onion rings, salad, and pieces of bread. The inside of the fish was soft and simply tasty like how a fish should be. The breading for the onion rings and zucchini was unique compared to what I'm used to at other places but that's not a bad thing at all. A little pricey in my opinion for a "fast food" with these two entrees and two drinks for $30 but it did fill us up and we had leftovers.
