Just finished a very tasty meal courtesy of Yelp Elite Week, Danny W. and Farmer Boys of Escondido. What kind of crazy people drive from Temecula to Escondido just to eat some food? Us. I had the Denver omelette with hash browns, sliced avocado and sour dough toast. It was more than I could eat, but I did a pretty good job. I also treated myself to a Dr. Pepper. My husband had a cheeseburger with onion rings, he ate every bite. This particular Farmer Boys was good sized, clean and the employees were nice and helpful. The hash browns were not done cooking though, a couple minutes longer and they would have been perfect. I have asked for the antibiotic free meat twice and they always end up running out. The chefs fry the fries to much and they are always hard. Finally, to put the B in Burt, Barbara the cashier is always in a bad mood and her customer service is horrible. My suggestion is the manager needs to order the correct quantity of meat. Also, the chefs need to leave the fries less time in the oil. I still like Farmer boys, but I will be going to the other one in West Mission Escondido, and I hope they have a different manager, better Chefs and great customer service. Farmer Boys has high quality stuff no matter what you get. Even though the prices are a bit eyebrow raising, service is always fast and your meal typically won't let you down. I've loved everything I've gotten from here since coming as a child to now. If you don't mind paying more than what is typical from a fast food joint (for products that is honestly past fast food standards) you should be happy with anything here. Only negative marks I'd give would be that the staff is usually seemingly not wanting to be there. The manager is an absolute disgrace. I walked in with a dear friend of mine who is down on her luck & planned on having breakfast with her this morning. I asked for the restroom code from another employee who gave it to me when the manager walked up and said "are THEY with you?" Shooting a shitty glare towards my friend headed for the restroom. Who does that? My roommates and I come here weekly. It's usually a decent (emphasis on decent) experience but Jason, buddy, you seemed either on drugs today or oblivious on how to treat a customer. He even double charged my friend and didn't give him his fries with his meal (silly, but in the grand scheme of this it was just another negative part to the experience). I used to work in the food service industry so I understand we all have bad days and what not, but we were the only people in the restaurant and were very polite and friendly to act like we were such a burden on this kids day. Even after our orders were finally taken, the kid forgot to give us our drinks. So I'm standing there as he asks, "what else do you want?" Ummm my drink, kid!? As he repeats the drinks back to me five times. Also, why doesn't this place ever give chipotle sauce when asked? When I got home, my wife's sourdough chicken avocado sandwich had little to no avocado, and was more along the lines of guacamole as it was spread on the sandwich. Came here for Yelp Elite Week on a Sunday afternoon and it was moderately busy but we still received our food in 15 mins or less. We ordered the Farmer's burger, the Natural Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger, and chili cheese fries. The Farmer's burger comes with 1/2 lbs. of beef (two patties), bacon, cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and thousand island dressing. The patties looked a little overcooked to me, but my boyfriend seemed pretty satisfied with his order. The Natural Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger came with 1/3 lbs (one patty), cheese, bacon, avocado, diced onions, and pickles. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, I liked how they were very generous with the avocado. For my sides, I chose 2 onion rings and 2 fried zucchinis. They also gave me ranch, even though I didn't ask for it, so that was nice of them. The onions rings were super huge and super crispy. 2 was all I really needed, really. However, the breading was a bit much, I had to take a layer off to actually taste the onion. I also took the breading off of the zucchinis as well since they got all soggy and I couldn't even taste the breading anyways. I think I would have rather preferred a regular zucchini than a fried one. The chili cheese fries were a great side - a lot of chili topped with cheddar cheese and grilled onions (upon request). Overall, 3.5/4 stars since I'm not really a fast food burger person. The burger was good, but not something I'd crave or feel I need to go back for.
