I like the food but I had something happen today that is just crazy and makes me never want to go back! I went there for lunch to order a hamburger, fry and iced tea. They had a cheeseburger special for sale for $5.50 with a fry and drink. A hamburger combo was $9.00 and change. I asked for the cheeseburger special but with no cheese and they would not do it. They made me pay for the regular hamburger combo for $4.00 more. They would not consider taking the cheese off and charging me for the cheeseburger combo. That's just crazy. I paid $4.00 to have a piece of cheese removed from my burger basically. What bad service. I will spread the bad word to everyone I know about the horrible customer service. This restaurant disappoints every single time. The food is mediocre and the wait time is atrocious. An $8 cheeseburger only has sauce and pickles and nothing else. The fried zucchini is always soggy. One time we ordered a plain cheeseburger and the order was incorrect. We didn't find out until we got home (15 minute drive). We drove back and said we ordered a plain one, the employee wanted to just scrape off the sauce and remove the topping and give us the same cheeseburger back, now cold and still with condiment residues. I absolutely loved this restaurant. It was my first time trying Farmers Boys but I was craving a chicken sandwich. So as I entered Ash (I believe her name is Ashley) says hello to me, I felt so welcomed. I asked her a few questions about the menu and she was so sweet and helpful I got the sourdough chicken sandwich it was delicious. Great choice. I will be coming back with my husband for date nights. I love how you can earn points in the app and earn rewards. Also the store was very clean, decoration is very modern and welcoming, lighting is very bright. After seeing a number of recent negative reviews, I wanted to add my 2 cents. I went with a friend from work on a Friday at about 12:45. We got our food to go. Something you have to realize about Farmer Boys, is that it is quirky. The scarecrow mascot is off putting, almost scary. The ordering process has always been confusing and non-negotiable. The $5.00 for a combo with a large drink is a big improvement over the old menu. Their bathrooms are often closed. Patio dining is closed even when it is sunny and 75 degrees (patio furniture is stacked up). All that said, the food I receive is top notch. If you like American Midwest cuisine Farmer Boys might be the best fast food place for you. Always made fresh, generous portions and high quality. My friend likes the fried fish because it is always moist and fresh, never dry. I like the sandwiches, because they are made right. I took off a star because customers deserve patio seating when the restaurant has a patio and furniture. read more

I was really in the mood for a good hearty salad. We stopped at Farmer boys in Lancaster. I have had the Cobb salad many many times, and have never been disappointed. On this particular occasion, the staff was so friendly, so attentive to our ordering, even the cook, prepared our food, exactly to order. Sometimes I'm a picky eater, and I can never just order off the menu without some type of modification. But all the food came out perfect as ordered. I'm a big fan. So, when I saw an opportunity to go to one that I' haven't been. Deal is done! I walked in here and everyone was quite friendly and ready to help! There were three of us and and a child we haven't really eaten all day. So we ordered a good amount of food. The quality of it, just as expected, great! I got the farmer burger and the fried zucchini. The farmer burger there was different from the ones that I've had in Los Angeles. Don't get me wrong, the Farmer burger here was good, but... I'm used to having a bit more avocado, larger slices of tomato and lettuce. The charbroiled meat was done quite well! And the fried zucchini, tasted to die for! My husband and I went last night and 30 minutes after eating he starting throwing up. 10 minutes later I had horrible pains in my stomach and then diarrhea started.
