Had a delightful lunch at Farmer's Commons. The staff was warm and friendly, the service was perfect ... attentive but not intrusive! We had white wine and appetizers to start, the wine was good, perfectly chilled! The appetizers were awesome! We started with fried green tomatoes, and the jardiniere salad, both muy delicioso! What started as a group of 9 friends getting together for dinner to see what this restaurant was like, turned out to be a very bad dining experience. Good news: The place is beautiful, and the surroundings are as nice as you can get, especially when you consider it is so far out in the country. From the outset, we were treated with very poor table service. It took a very long time to get water on the table, drinks were delayed, and the ordering process was a series of repeated Q & A by our server. Dinner served to 8, and the 9th had to wait on his Chicken Fried steak until we had all eaten. It came out as we all finished, and not only was it inexcusably late, it contained vegetables not shown by the menu. It was sent back as unwanted, we are ready for the check. A "large party gratuity" of 20% was automatically addd to the bill(s), and the person who never received his dinner asked for that gratuity to be removed. A "manager" came over to explain that it is "STATE LAW" and cannot be removed. His bill contained his drink and his wife's food and drink. It is highly unlikely that we will return, as overall, even with this particularly bad service experience, the food and drinks are overpriced, and the servers are clearly not trained in basic foodservice customer communications skills. If this was theater then it would be a Drama! Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Food is just ok. However the feel is awkward at the least and unprofessional at worst. Felt like this was a private club and we were not part of it! Open kitchen is loud and self focused. Chef actually threw an employee out and it was quite noticeably ! Wait for drinks and food were long. Ice in water would be nice. Lots of employees gathering at the bar but not attentive to customers. A well behaved but very active young boy seem to have the run of the place bouncing from bar stool to bar stool and in an out of the kitchen. "Boss lady's" son I was told. Relaxing is an understatement! Very few places can you enjoy a quiet, relaxing vibe while enjoying a tasty farm to table meal. Farmers Commons is one of those places! From the hostess, to the wait staff to the chefs to the mixologist, it's an experience worth embracing. We've been out several times but today we enjoyed a tasty birthday brunch, had an espresso Martini & Bloody Mary. So impressed the mixologist shared his secret to a great Espresso Martini. The food was amazing! Served hot with a beautiful presentation by some of the friendliest staff. After brunch we enjoyed a great visit with close friends, outside under the trees. Sipped some sangria & enjoyed the relaxing scenery. Highly recommended. There are outside games, swings, putting green, garden & fire pits. A beautiful relaxing experience! This was all around excellent. We went for Valentine's Day and we greatly enjoyed it. It was a bit expensive, but it was worth it.

Not impressed. The pro- it's a nice looking place with decor and stuff. Nice looking for a date night...but.. The cons- it's early in the dinner hour and after waiting 5 or so minutes for a waiter, he walked by and quickly said he would be with us. 10 more minutes pass, and nothing. I notice this waiter was standing in the open kitchen talking to others and laughing. Then it appeared they started eating something what was probably the special. As I am staring at him just waiting, he is in his own world. When he finally comes to greet us after 15 mins he asked if this was our first time, which we replied yes. His comment back , "is why do they always sit me new people". I was shocked! I bet 99.9% of people are NEW!! How many people would venture out regularly to the same winery, and the place is fairly new. He takes our drink order, but I'm stunned they do not upsell wine (it's at a winery) and when asked about choices he quickly moves us towards the cocktail menu after a quick show of the wines. A women did say when we first walked in she was the wine expert, but she never came over and our waiter didn't get her when asking questions. My wife's wine comes about 5 mins later. My cocktail was 15+ more minutes to arrive. The excuse is the bartender got slammed. As I look around at a little more than half full restaurant. (30 people tops). 30 minutes of just waiting for a drink in a small restaurant. The meal options are limited and need some work. You order your meal and then a side. No basic sides mind you. A $20 mac and cheese as a side? I order the steak and wanted the basics with it. No potato's or mashed, just a specialty tater tot. I guess whatever. I asked for the mix vegetables instead. It was Brussels sprouts only. Good thing I like Brussels sprouts, but if you don't, you are out of luck for a vegetable side. Long wait for dinner to come out. Waiter says "he thinks they forgot". Hmm. Long drinks. Now a long time for the meal to arrive?. Some random women actually got us more drink orders and water, not our actual waiter, who usually was just walking around or standing in the kitchen. If you want a $45 fatty New York strip steak, your side options are tater tot's, over priced lobster Mac or Brussels sprouts. I don't remember the other sides, but things that I wouldn't pair with a steak. For a $200 meal for two it was a joke. Poor service, poor meal, poor options. We were so ready to leave. And that's the last issue I have. I ask for the check. He stands in front of me with a computer to pay with as he holds it. This is beyond tacky, as he stands over me waiting to see what I do. I received no paper check to review, just a screen to pay. I asked for a paper check, which he replied with "I can print you one out when you are done". Well... the point was to review before I pay, not after. I quickly hit my options took my card and left. I expect that computer junk at a chilis, but not at a want to be high end place. I waited a few weeks before I wrote this to make sure I wasn't being over picky, but I'm not. Don't waste your time. read more

Food and wine are all fantastic, and on my most recent visit my bartender Marisol made this amazing new peach whiskey cocktail that they had and I ended up having 4 of them (i think??) Wow! What an incredible dining experience. Went on a Saturday for brunch and it was the dreamiest afternoon. The interior is so gorgeous, I couldn't get a perfect enough photo because it was so beautiful. Our server Alondra was so amazing and she walked us through some of the key dishes to try. Highly recommend the bacon appetizer and the biscuits. Everything is farm to table and divine. Just do yourself a favor and order the mimosa's for the table. The Vineyards own Brut is what's used and it is sooooo good. Can not wait to go back and try more items on the menu. read more

First time here on day 2 of opening! I must say that they exceeded all expectations! Amazingly great food, great service! Amazing drinks and of course good wine! Everything was filling and good. Plan on getting only one side as they are huge! Except the elote I was told that is smaller. Everything is farm to table, even the herbs and honey grown onsite! The decor is absolutely gorgeous! Check in Staff is friendly and accommodating. The concept of our experience was great up until we realized we were waiting 30 minutes for cocktails, the water was room temp, and The worst part of it all was when I ordered the Chicken and Waffles! The chicken was not seasoned at all, when I expressed my disappointment to my waiter he asked me if I would like for him to bring me seasoning or hot sauce. I have never experienced anything like this and frankly I've had better recovery service at McDonalds. This service didn't match up to the ambiance of the establishment. read more

We have been coming here for years.. to the vineyard. I always wondered why the beauty of the land was not maximized. Finally the infusion of funds and perfect vision has arrived! Beautiful place for Brunch. The ambiance is breathtaking. There's a farm vibe inside but, with gorgeous chandeliers. The view is of The Vineyard that has a garden, putting green, lawn chess and gorgeous outdoor seating area. The biscuits are savory. I had the best Bloody Mary of my life! It had celery, cucumber, maple bacon, olives, tomatoes, cheddar and pepper jack cheese with a Tajin rim. The drink had fresh ground pepper, tomatoes and wasn't too spicy. For my entree I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was very crispy and flavorful and the waffle was spongy and delicious. The syrup was light and delicious. 10/10. Every single thing. The wife and I came here for our 10 year anniversary. It's a bit out in the middle of nowhere and quite a drive, but that's one of the best parts. You can have a nice, quiet meal, with a little romance on the side. We started with a glass of wine, which I normally don't do. I'm not a big drinker and don't like wine much at all. However, their wine was SO GOOD. Appetizers: we had the fried green tomatoes and the whipped ricotta. Both of them were DELICIOUS. Next time I would probably get only one, just because we had so much food by the end, but I loved them both. Main course: Wife had the Chef's Garden pizza. She loved it. I thought it was great too. It had a very unique flavor. Nothing like any pizza I've ever had. I had the BBQ chicken. I was a little hesitant to order it because BBQ chicken sounds basic, but HOLY COW. It tasted nothing like traditional, regular BBQ chicken. I absolutely loved it! Restaurant as a whole: The venue is amazing. Beautiful everywhere you turn. All of the ingredients taste like they just came from the earth. The staff was INCREDIBLE. I would give them a 20/10. The servers, the host, the chef...all of them went above and beyond. Came for a girls Brunch and it was Perfect!!! Service was top notice! My friend and I sat on the outdoor patio that looks out on the perfectly manicured lawn and gorgeous garden. After brunch we got drinks to go and walked around the property because it was a beautiful day and noticed these egg chairs hanging from every tree in the shade so nice they also had a large chess set to play. The food was hit or miss, service lacking overall but the setting is 5 star. So worth the drive to check it out! On our visit, chicken with the waffle amazing. Biscuit with orange butter and lavender honey unique and good. Bacon with dipping sauce was a no, very thin and cold but interesting presentation. Hamburger came with amazing fried tomato. We drove over an hour and a half to try out Farmers Common for our late valentines due to us being out of town for work. Once we get inside we were greeted right away you would think that's a good sign but we're told that we needed to have a reservation but no where in the yelp add does it state that. There were 4 tables open that we could see and half the bar was available. We were told that we could sit in another area on a sofa with a coffee table and have access to the menu. read more

Went here last night for first time. Food was excellent overall. Fantastic bread and ricotti app, my wife's soup was amazing. My medium rare steak was a bit on the rare side, but the au poivre sauce was just amazing. My wife got the mushroom truffle pizza and it was very good as well. Overall I would give the food 4.5 stars, very very enjoyable. The service though...ouch, 1.5 stars at best. We were at our table 25 minutes before we got our cocktails. Water glasses run empty all night. Had to ask for ice for water repeatedly (hot summer night, people tend to like ice). Our server, sweet as she was, would disappear for 20-30 minutes at at time, even when we were finished and just waiting for the check. Always apologetic, but it was probably 4 different times we waited to order, waited for drinks, waited for check, etc.... It wasn't packed but a busy night, seemed like short on the floor, but most noticeable was the lack of attention by the managers. One lady, who I assumed the Manager on Duty, sitting by the kitchen on her laptop the entire 2 hours we were there, her back to the dining room, really paying little to no attention to what was going on on the floor except when no one was manning the front welcome area as people came in. We noticed several other customers, like us, having to flag servers down throughout the evening for various things, get water refilled, check on drinks, whatever it was. I know everyone is short staffed, but couldn't help but notice there was what appeared to be multiple managers and other people just hanging around the open kitchen area, not doing a whole lot of anything, and not focused on the people dining there at the moment, while customers were all a bit frustrated with long waits and some lack of attention. If you looked around the room and paid attention for a bit, it was obviously half the customers were scanning the room looking for their servers throughout the night. We will be back because overall it is a really neat place and the food is worth the wait, but hope they can clean up and improve the service aspects of the restaurant. It's really the only thing holding it back. Managers, don't worry about spreadsheets on Friday night, focus on the customers in the dining area. For some you may only have this once chance to get them to come back. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great ambience. We sat outside on the patio, and were there for sunset, which was nice. My husband and I had an amazing experience over the weekend. The interior is beautiful, and we love an open kitchen. A lot of the fun is watching the food get made and seeing how the kitchen staff interacts. Yanique took great care of us at the bar. She makes a mean cocktail! The staff has fun and it shows in the food! We had the whipped ricotta and meatballs, both stellar! I had the mushroom and truffle pizza that I added candied bacon to, and WOW is an understatement! My husband had the Butcher's Cut which was prepared perfectly and was so tender. We also had brussels and the elote. They have a chef's garden on the property and they use it to perfection! We've been coming to the Vineyard for many years. One of our daughters was married here. So, not my first time but... under the new ownership the service and overall experience has declined dramatically. Farmer's Commons is case in point. The food is good but not stellar, no crime there. But, management doesn't seem to have a clue about operating a relatively high-end restaurant. Staff has clearly not been trained. Example: on our last visit at 9pm sharp the music stopped and the staff started sweeping up around us while we were still eating. This might be expected at Chili's, but would not be tolerated at ANY other restaurant that purports to be in this market segment. I do not recommend unless you're willing accept mediocrity under the guise of excellence. read more
