Melt in your mouth those beignets. Sooooo good! I love love love their gourmet burger! The acai bowl tasted and looked beautiful. But their gourmet burger is spectacular! It's my biggest recommendation! It comes with mille feuille potatoes, which are basically an upgraded version of a hash brown but crispier and flavorful! I also ordered their banana crepe which is not on their menu but on a sign of daily special when you walk in. They tend to change their it daily but today I got lucky and was able to try the crepe! Love the Mille fille potatoes-- crispy on the outside and soft and billowy on the inside. Perfect and just the way a potato should be served! I hear this is an English staple and not hard to make, but when done right absolutely delicious. Here it's served with your choice of different sauces, including harissa, homemade ketchup or Demi glaze. This is a must try. The ham and cheese croissant was just as expected... Food was creative, the taste was just alright. The crepe was pretty burnt throughout the entire bottom (burnt + arugula is not a very good taste). Burger was alright there was pretty minimal toppings and it was a bit on the drier side...so maybe I should've used the gravy more; they said I could switch bleu cheese to cheddar, but they ended up giving me bleu cheese. We didn't say anything though...didn't want to wait another 30 mins for food. The potato mille-fiuelle was good though! $20 is pretty steep for it as an appetizer on its own, but I got it as part of the burger, so that was nice. Our food took over 30 mins to come out but the table besides us had it worse...they easily waited at least an hour (they had to follow up to see if their order was still coming...since people like us had gone from waiting for a table to getting food before they even got appetizers). The front of house didn't seem understaffed (3 waitresses for less than a dozen indoor/outdoor tables, and they were all very nice) but maybe the kitchen was For $50+ for two dishes not including tax and tip, I would not really recommend this place to anyone... read more

This review is pertaining to my experience at this establishment on May 17th, a Sunday. Me and my friends had booked a table for 5 for 11 AM. I want to start off with the good. The place is cozy and the interior is decorated to appear quaint and country-like. Beverages tasted good and although the variety isn't large, the food tastes decent with some unique offerings like the potato mille fueille. Unfortunately, everything I'm about to write cancels this out by a long shot. When the first of us got there and informed one of the waitresses of our reservation, she was very rudely told to wait. I say 'rude' in the sense that there was no greeting, no smile and her tone very much indicated she was annoyed at being approached at all. No matter, it's understandably a bit busy as it is around lunch time on a Sunday and this place has such MARVELOUS reviews. Anyway, after we were all seated, a different waitress came over to take our orders. We were chatting and catching up with one another until we realized that it's been over 20 minutes and not one of us have even gotten at least our drinks. Meanwhile, we notice our waitress is outside chatting it up with a couple of customers that she seems to personally know. At this time, we notice two customers come in and are seated at the table next to us. When we saw them get their drinks and our table was STILL devoid of any beverages, the bravest of us got up to ask about the hold up. Turns out they forgot about us. Our drinks came out to us not long after that and everything tasted great. 20 more minutes of us chatting and we see the two people at the table next to us are now digging into their delicious looking burger and omelet. Hello?????? Surely they didn't forget about both our drinks AND our food. The same brave soul from our group got up to go ask the staff again. Yes, ladies and gentleman. They did indeed forget about our food too. At this point, our annoyance level had risen considerably. We were told that they are short staffed. Apparently, that did not deter staff from hanging out and chatting with their friends outside while completely forgetting about an entire table of 5 hungry and thirsty people. I wish this was the end of our experience here but unfortunately there's more...and it gets worse. 3 of us got omelets, one of us got the potato mille feuille and I got an acai bowl. The omelets and the potato mille feuille all came out at once. Alas, the acai bowl did not. My wonderful and considerate friends insisted on waiting for me to get my acai bowl so that we all can dig in together. 5 minutes, then 10 minutes went by and I felt so bad because their food came out hot and fresh and now it's cooling. When a waitress came over to top up our water, I asked about my acai bowl. You guessed it, folks. They forgot. Finally, to top this all off, when we all FINALLY got to dig into our food almost an hour and a half later, one of my friends found a hair in her omelet. When this was brought up to the waitress, there was NO apology. The waitress simply asked if my friend wanted another omelet made to which my friend declined and expressed that she'd just prefer not to be charged for her omelet (poor girl literally only had about 2 bites). I was blown away by the nonchalance and lack of empathy. After every single thing that has gone wrong since we walked through their doors--and there were many--they couldn't manage a simple "Oh I'm so sorry for that!". Miss waitress, I understand it was probably not YOUR personal hair that ended up on my friend's plate, but you are the face of your eatery, the communicator with your customers. What you say and do reflects the entire restaurant as a whole. I realize this review has been long and extensive but that is because my EXPERIENCE has been long and extensively BAD. I have lived here on the islands for almost my whole life and this is sadly the worst experience with customer service I've ever had. What makes it extra bad is the lack of any acknowledgement that the service had been subpar and that they messed up so many times. I am unsure how this place has this many 5 star reviews. Perhaps we were just extremely unlucky. Either way, we will not be back and will absolutely not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

How have I never reviewed this place?!? I guess I always take photos and enjoy my food that I forget to. The restaurant is really cute. Check the hours as I think it's primary a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. The food and coffee is always good here. You should make reservations though as they do get crowded (at least on Saturdays). A MUST is to always ask what the specials are. There is a gypsy egg dish that is simply delicious - it's like an amplified version of shakshuka - sooo tasty! I also always enjoy their cured salmon. The quiche is also very good. We had this other dish (see pics) with gravy and mushrooms, it is very good but you need to order this ahead of time (when you call to make the reservation and even at that, it may not be available). We typically park on the street in the metered parking area. I believe the building does have parking, but we've never parked there. read more

Ok, no problem waiting as long as someone greets us and tells us to wait! The lady at the counter next says to "just wait" huh? Hmm we are waiting, just acknowledge us or explain your waiting system. Jeezuz! I have low tolerance for people that won't admit mistakes or plain ignorant. So as we are waiting, the chef, Zouhair Zairi, approaches us and says to wait outside. I'm no stranger to French cuisine bro, so calm down and... and then he apologizes and explains how they are short staffed. Ah! I was tempted debating efficiency, politeness, but instead bit my tongue knowing my twin wanted to eat here. Besides she was right on they being understaffed. Oh nvm we are finally seated lol! We are handed the menus (finally) and explained to order the food and drinks at the same time by the chef! So odd, but having experienced French restaurants in the non touristy parts of Paris, I finally admitted to myself he wasn't intentionally being rude. So let's talk the cuisine! If we're only reviewing the cuisine I'd be at 4-5 stars it was delicious! Everything organic, fresh, and tasty. I could taste the French in every bite and we were truly satisfied! To me, the Beignets that we shared afterwards was the star! In the end, it may have started with bad juju and my patience being tested, but fortunately I was with a kind soul that reminded me (& treated me sigh) that it may not be as it seems per se. A cute breakfast brunch spot when I walked it. It's located in the 808 plaza along with a bunch of other eateries across from Walmart. I came here to try their burger coz it looked amazing in the photos. I also tried their beignets and the breakfast sandwich. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with the flattened croissant. It's your typical breakfast croissant that's on the oily side, nothing exceptional. The much anticipated burger however was too salty for my taste. I had to remove some of the spread as it's just more salt from the salted patty already. The meat quality was decent but honestly when the food was so salty, it wasn't enjoyable at all. The Mille-feuille potato was interesting, but it added a lot of grease to the already greasy burger. I only enjoyed the outer crispy part. The insides tasted just like regular potato. Also, it's definitely not worth $27 for this plate. The beignets looked off. The texture was way too soft. It wasn't worth the calories. Service was prompt and friendly. The ambiance was nice. I met up with some of girls at this cute little cafe on Sheridan. The Cafe is located in the 808 Center so if you are not familiar with the Center make sure you use the GPS to take you to the parking garage since you have to enter from Sheridan. The set up is very casual and open. It was pretty much packed when we came so service was a little slow and they appeared to need more help. I tried the Ham & Cheese Croissant which was perfect. The croissant was crisp on the outside and soft inside, so buttery and delicious. I also tried my friend's Crepe Forestiere which was even better. That will definitely be my pick next time as it was loaded with arugula and delicious wild mushrooms and cheese. The four of us shared an order of the Beignets with strawberry jam. Wow, I haven't had a perfect warm, crisp, tasty beignet in a while and it was heavenly. I think I would go back and eat the whole order myself next time. Came here when we were in town for my baby's 3 month check-up appt. This has been on my go-to list for quite sometime. Parking is challenging, although it is advertised as parking lot, and valet, the valet guy told us it's only valet. They also advertise outside seating. There was a tiny table and 2 small chairs on a small lanai in front of the restaurant right next to the street. I wouldn't really call that outdoor seating. I was expecting a few tables under a nice covered area. Something cute like the cafe. The cafe inside was cute and homey. Food: I wanted something sweet and spicy so I ordered the banana crepes and the Mediterranean omelette. Both were delicious. The banana crepes are a big portion size so they are great for sharing. A little messy too! The omelette was good, it was a decent size and wasn't overstuffed with things, I loved the feta cheese. My hubby ordered the croque monsieur. It had a nice presentation. My friend suggested we should try Farmhouse Cafe which I had bookmarked for a while now and forgotten about it. The cafe is located on the first floor of 808 Center. The interior has the vibe of an American cafe in Japan with a rustic look. The seatings are pretty uncomfortable. The booth has the smallest width I ever sat on. Their menu is pretty limited but they have a couple of specials on a tiny board near the entrance. Beignets: Their beignets were pretty different than traditional beignets. It was light and soft but the texture and taste reminded me of a more airy andagi. It also had some jasmine scent in it which made the pastry tasted like a flower. I wasn't crazy about the jasmine taste in the beignets. However without it, they were pretty bland and the powdered sugar didn't help much. I think the sauces would help more with the sweetness for an additional price. Gourmet burger: This was highly recommended. We requested for the burger prepared medium. The burger was alright. Didn't taste like wagyu beef. It was pretty dry and so the demi glace sauce on the side was the saving grace. It still didn't help flavor wise. The burger has a strong blue cheese flavor which overpowered everything. The onion jam was non existent. The potato mille feuille was not seasoned. It was my first time trying this but I don't think the center should be very soggy. The edges were crispy but that's it. It would have been better to just use fries as the side. Overall, the dishes are just decent. Personally, the flavors are not to my taste but my friend did enjoyed it especially the burger. You paid at the cashier once you finish, they won't bring the check to your table which is pretty common in Japan. I wouldn't revisit unless my friend wanted to go back again. read more

We were met instantly with very friendly greetings. Even the chef/owner came out to greet and answer any questions. We got the special salmon lox and bagel, the Mediterranean omelet, and we split their wagyu burger. The lox and bagel with pickled onions was ono, it melted in your mouth. The omelet, although soft-cooked, was absolutely delicious. I got it with a side of candy bacon, and I got a few huge yummy slices. The fig jelly was a great supplement to the overall dish. Now, the burger. It looked absolutely decadent and yummy. But, you need to be a fan of blue cheese, because it is a super-overpowering flavor in the burger. It surprised me, that's for sure. But the potatoes that came with it: EEEEYO! And the gravy, maaaan. I wish I had a pound of it, I would've finished it all on one sitting. Never had better potatoes I think. They were cut in blocks, but we're thinly layered and fried. I mean, cuhmon. I would get them as a side next time. The ambiance gives a country feel, obviously to match the name. Nice touches, not too overbearing. The parchment paper that lined under our plates mimicked old school Hawai'i newspaper, which was an awesome touch. Another 5 stars for Chef ZZ's Breakfast Sandwich almost resembling eggs Benedict but much lighter with a delicate flavor I can't recognize except that it's yummy! Started out with the signature basket of beignets and each time I am swooning with the not too sweet but sweet enough flavor and texture. A quaint hip brunch spot with friendly and exceptional service. Food was cooked to perfection and fresh! If I closed my eyes, it literally felt like I was taking a bite of a crepe in the French countryside.... However, taking everything into account $24+ for a crepe is not affordable. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious, but I would not come back just because of the price. I am glad that we tried a new brunch spot tho. read more

Cute, quirky, friendly vibe but ultimately overpriced, pedestrian food and equally uninspired service.

The woman that was working was the absolute sweetest. I really appreciated how I never felt rushed during my visit. Although I don't typically eat ham, the Croque Madame was so tasty. I also ordered Iced White Mocha and it was the perfect balance. I would love to go back and try their beignets! read more
