The server was great - she was working really hard and she serviced the whole restaurant, but was still pleasant and timely. We spent a lot of time talking after finishing eating and we were never rushed to leave. I'm not sure how it is all the time, but parking on a Friday holiday was pretty open. Came on a Saturday at around 9 am. It surprisingly wasn't crowded but I did hear that restaurants were hurting for customers and it seemed like this was true. We came a few years ago at around the same time and the place was packed. The service is friendly and helpful and although the food takes a little while to come out, it's well worth it. We ordered the F&G French toast, Steak Poutine, and the Roasted Mushroom Baked Eggs. Also had the Americano and Sea Salt Caramel latte. Here's what we thought: French toast : it was good but for the cost we thought the portions were too small. Bread isn't that expensive so for $16.50 we thought they could have added a few more slices. Or at least garnish it with an entire strawberry instead of a half. Steak Poutine $12: we thought this might have been the best dish. Although the steak portion was a bit small, it was tasty and the cheese sauce was amazing. My daughter also loved the fries and didn't mind that the fries made up most of the dish. Roasted Mushroom Baked Eggs $16: served in a skillet with four pieces of pesto covered toast. We enjoyed it but it seemed more like bruschetta so wasn't exactly what we thought it would be. We thought it would have more mushrooms but had more tomatoes than mushrooms. Americano: good coffee. There was only one person working the tables when we went, but service was still good. It was just my boyfriend and me, so we walked right in. I believe reservations are only for parties of 6 or more. There's also ample parking, which is always a plus. For drinks, I got the iced matcha with oat milk sweetened with honey. It was decent and refreshing. My boyfriend got the lychee tea and loved it, though I personally thought it was too sweet. My boyfriend ordered the smoked salmon Benedict since their loco moco wasn't available at the time. He's usually not an eggs Benedict person, but the salmon tasted fresh and he really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved my brunch outing with friends at Fig and Ginger! Nine of us gathered this past Friday. I was thrilled since Fig and Ginger has been on my list to try, just never made it. Sure glad we did. The service was amiable. I really give the young server credit as our crazy group was throwing out questions and requests abundantly. And the food selections, while not complicated, were more than sufficient to give everyone choices that they wanted. I was torn between the two specials of the day which were smoked salmon benedict (with salad) or the ham and brie sandwich (with fries). Most of us got the smoked salmon. I "almost" regretted my decision, almost, when I saw my friend's ham and cheese selection. It was the most beautiful ham and cheese on baguette that I have seen since visiting Spain two years ago! So, I quickly added that to my order to take out for dinner. Since F&G participates in the "buy local" American Savings Bank program (spend $50 and get $10 off) I threw in a decadently delicious bag of truffled party mix to take home. Whoaaa sooo good. I headed to Fig & Ginger today with a friend for brunch. I was immediately greeted in a very friendly manner upon entering and while I waited for my friend to arrive, I was asked if I wanted anything to drink. I asked for just a water and it was brought out quickly. The restaurant was not busy at the time we went, which allowed for a mellow brunch experience. For my meal, I had the grilled chicken Caesar salad, which I had some mixed feelings about. Positives: the salad ingredients looked nice and fresh and the dressing was on the creamier side. Negatives: the dressing tasted strongly of mayo and anchovies and the flavors didn't balance nicely as most Caesar dressings do, the chicken was kind of grey in color, smelled odd, and after tasting one bite of the chicken I decided against eating the other pieces to be safe because it tasted off too. Our waitress checked on us often and refilled our waters often as well. Upon coming to clear our plates, she noticed I hadn't eaten the chicken and had moved it to the side and checked in about why. I was honest with her about it smelling weird and tasting a little bit off and wanting to be on the safe side so I hadn't eaten any more of it besides the first bite. She was very understanding and apologized as well as offered a discounted price for the salad since there had been a problem with the chicken. I got a chocolate brownie skillet for dessert and it was very tasty. It had vanilla bean ice cream on top as well as some cut strawberries and strawberry sauce which was just the right sweetness. I don't know if I will return here because it is such a far drive from where I live, but if I lived closer, I definitely would. Walked into this restaurant at was seated at a table for two in the second row of tables for two. The configuration of the restaurant is four tables for two along the wall. A second row of four of tables for two, I'm guessing it's set up like this so you can push two tables together. Then there's a looong table/bench for communal eating or large parties. Then against the wall are four tables for four. It's small but configured to maximize occupancy. I was surprised there were six tables of two and one of four occupied when I came in. Service was quick considering only one server, menus and water were left as she passed by to another table. I didn't even look at the regular menu as I saw the Salmon Egg Benedict on the "special" menu made even better when I was informed they were out of English Muffins and would toasted sourdough be an okay substitute, yes please! Excellent Eggs Benedict! Eggs perfectly poached, toast perfectly brown, just the right amount of Hollandaise and the salmon was the perfect amount. I also ordered a Latte but dismissed their menu as I'm not a fufu latte drinker....just a plain Latte please. I did appreciate the artful way the foam was added and the charming cup and saucer it was served in. Those touches are appreciated. The only downside for me was when the bill was presented and I was told by the server as I tried to hand her my card I had to pay at the register. There is parking for the shopping center at the front, and some additional parking in the garage underground. We decided to go for brunch and the parking lot was pretty empty. There are some boho decorations, a bright white interior, and some nature/plant elements. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken efficiently. There are a number of options on the menu from toasts to sweets to sandwiches, the options are quite decent. They have also been known for their charcuterie boards. We did not get one, but were tempted by the mini charcuterie option! We decided to get the croissant scrambled eggs sandwich, crispy corn fritters toastie, and goat cheese and fig sandwich with truffle fries. The toastie was good. The crispy corn was quite crunchy, and had a good flavor. The eggs did not taste like they had much flavor but worked OK with the rest of the dish. Extremely disappointed with our experience at Fig and Ginger. My family and I arrived at 12:00 PM, and by 2:06 PM we still had not received all of our food. To make matters worse, another party that arrived after us was seated and served before we were. When our food finally started coming out, it was brought at completely different times, and we didn't even have utensils prepared at the table. They also forgot our truffle fries entirely. The food looked promising, but the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Late review but this place was so good! I was surprise because I expected it to be a typical brunch place and it is a good place for brunch but they have unique dishes. If you can, I recommend making a reservation because when a group of friends and I went on the weekend, there were people waiting outside. Atmosphere - Gives me classy but not too bougie. Lighting is pleasant and it's not too loud in there either. Colors are neutral in a sense so not too loud but doesn't just blend in and it's decorated nicely. There are tables of around 4 people and a bigger table in the middle. I would say the restaurant overall seats 20 - 30 people. Service - Our service was great and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. Cost - Ranges but average would be around $17 not including tax and tip. Parking - It's in the McCully Shopping Center so you can park on the main level outdoor lot or they have a parking lot under the building as well, it's a bit tight so be aware. I'm a regular at this excellent restaurant/cafe open for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The food reminds me so much of some of the very best brunches I've had over the years in my native New York City. Now that I've been happily living in Honolulu for a number of years, I have to honestly say this place is consistently delicious, and on par with the best of NYC. The floors, baseboards, chairs, and even the ceiling vent were noticeably dirty, which made me wonder about the condition of the kitchen. I ordered the steak salad for $19 and was disappointed. It came with a small portion of spring greens, a few overripe tomatoes, some red onion, and four half-slices of cucumber. The steak was very tough and full of gristle--almost inedible. I ended up doctoring the salad at home but couldn't salvage the steak. Sadly, this was my first and likely last visit. First time, trying Fig & Ginger! This is a cute a little restaurant, conveniently located in town in the McCully shopping center. Free parking out front. We came here for brunch, no reservations needed. It wasn't especially busy at that time. I think there was only one or two other parties. Upon entering, we were directed to sit wherever we wanted. Our server promptly came over to bring us menus. Service is fast, but it would be nice if the server would smile a little bit. We opted to order the "Big Brekkie" and some house toasts. I ordered "The Ocean" toast which has scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, and capers. My friend ordered the croissant scrambled egg sandwich. The Big Brekkie is more of a traditional breakfast with three eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes. Note, the toasts only come with one piece of toast, so if you're a big eater might need to order something else additional. The food was really good! Definitely would like to come back and try some other items. read more

Amazing! Completely loved the food tried their burger and it did not disappoint. Everything sounded delicious and all the food order was great. The coffee was good as well. Cool little gem in Hawaii. Seating is limited so try to get there early if possible depending on your party. read more

Stopped by to check this place out for a birthday brunch. Cute little place in McCully Shopping Center. The decor was so fresh & welcoming. The special salmon benedict was delicious! Just the right amount of ooze from the egg! It came with a little potatoes & small salad with pickled onions & a light & tasty dressing. French toast was just right & the truffle fries were yummy, but not overpowering. Will definitely return to try some other dishes. read more
