Well the name is a bit misleading. Nothing really farmhouse about this place. Came for breakfast and it was cute and was greeted immediately. The menu is short and a bit bazaar so check it first. The house coffee was just okay. The açaí bowl with peanut butter was small with just a few banana slices and strawberries on it. Wife ordered egg sandwich no cheese. It literally took over 25 minutes and when it came out it was wrong. Everyone in restaurant got their food then my wife got hers. Plain and not even salt and pepper. The kiddies treated us here for an early Mothers Day brunch cuz Bud has a football game tomorrow. We had a reserved table next to the window. Two men were on an outside table like they were with us. Bud put his menu on the window to block his view of them. I don't blame him it made me feel a bit claustrophobic with no air. Three of the adults enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches. The kiddies liked the spicy bacon and beignets. We all enjoyed the layered potatoes. I told them what Yelp Elite Rod wrote in his review about their preparation. The male server made the hot chocolate for the two kiddies and me by making mocha without the coffee and adding whipped cream on top. Came here to eat an early lunch, had the Greek omelette and a coffee. Honestly the food is totally fine, I thought it tasted good. Portions are a little on the small side for what you are paying. My main issue with this place is that I was pretty much ignored the entire time I was there. There were two people acting as servers who were nice enough when I could actually get their attention, but doing so was strangely a chore. Nobody ever came to ask me how I was doing, if I needed water, etc. and everyone seemed way more intent on upselling mimosas to the groups around me. Farmhouse Cafe in Waikiki was such a good breakfast spot. I ordered the breakfast plate and everything was seriously delicious. Even the bacon stood out; it had this slight sweetness with a hint of citrus that made it taste totally different from regular bacon, in a really good way. The place itself is clean and comfortable, which always makes a difference. One of the best parts was the chef coming out of the kitchen to chat with customers. My farmhouse eggs benedict with the potato mille-feuille was good, though there was something that resembled sour cream that tasted very bitter. The grilled sandwich, potato mille-feuille, and beignets tasted amazing!! I would definitely get those again. However, the potato mille-feuille could have been crispier since the slices were thick. We had an older waitress as our main server who was very kind in checking up on us and easily remembered if anything was missing. I had the day off today, so after taking care of some errands, I called in a take-out order for The Gourmet Burger. When I reached there, the door appeared to be locked although there were people inside, so I sat outside as it was still early for my pickup. I was the only one outside, so when the server came to check on me, I asked if I could change my order to dine-in if there was room inside and she confirmed there was. The wait was short, since I had phoned ahead. I was so glad when the food arrived (8oz Wagyu burger, onion date jam, bleu cheese, demi-glace & potato mille-feuille). The presentation would have been lost/distorted if they had to pack all that into a take-out package. And it was a very nice presentation. Although we had agreed to the burger being "medium" over the phone, it looked well-done to me. I liked that the bun was toasted. It had a nice crunch to it. The burger and potatoes were a bit salty - but it could be that I am more salt-sensitive than many others. The waitstaff was attentive and the atmosphere was cozy, the lighting subdued. As I was almost done, I asked the server for a dessert recommendation. I decided on the Strawberry Tart. Its sweetness was a nice contrast to the burger and potatoes. It was served warm, the crust was good, and I actually enjoyed it more than the rest of the meal. Cost: it was pretty pricey, but this was mainly for the experience. Acceptable if I average out over a few days worth of my lunch budget. I'll now have a better picture in my mind when passing by there in the future. I got the gourmet wagyu burger that comes with the potato Millie. The burger is pretty good but it was slightly on the salty side. The sauce is also pretty unique. This wasn't a problem for us bc our kids are older, 3 and 10. The menu was small but concise which I didn't mind. They were very nice and considerate and let us sit for 30 minutes while we waited for our whole party to arrive. They served us waters, served in little mason jars while we sat. The menu is small and concise, which I appreciate. A bunch of our party ordered burgers, a couple ordered sandwiches, and one of us ordered the acai bowl (which was so tiny and not worth the price in my opinion). I personally ordered the special Farmhouse Poutine - fingerling potatoes, duck leg, curd, and gravy. Pros: Intimate space, decent, different food, yummy coffee and teas, great service, offers Gluten-Free (GF) and Vegan (V) options. Cons: Limited menu, a little pricey for what you get, small space, NO parking. Went to Farmhouse Cafe today around 1PM. Their yelp and website say they close at 3PM, but their sign and their menu says close at 2PM. Today, I tried their new monthly special the Gypsey Eggs, a Pear Tart, and the Acai Bowl with no extras. I have to say the Gypsey eggs are quite delicious with an assortment of flavors and textures. It is $28, but I feel it was worth the price. The Acai bowl isn't as large as other places, but it makes up for it's size with a nice flavor and honey. I would recommend it. The Pear Tart was nice with a good crust. Not the flakey or extra crumbly type- and plenty of Pear to top. My first impression was not that good. Greeting was lukewarm and after getting g seated it felt like we were ignored. We got water and even a refill before anyone approached to take our order. Very limited menu and prices are high. Breakfast sandwich is $17 and if you want meat on that it's additional $7.50. I sent my burger back as it was raw in the center. Menu states burgers are serverd Medium and the server asked if Medium is good. My burger looked awesome and once I cut it in half I found raw meat. I had to flag down a server and sent it back. I a few minutes what I assumed was the chef brought out my original burger, just a little more toasted than when I returned it. He explained that I may not understand what French medium-rare was. I replied that I ordered medium as suggested by the server who took my order. The burger was only reheated in a salamander or broiler as the vun was extra crunchy now and only the exposed edges were slightly cooked. Still I tried the burger but found that the slaty blue cheese compounded with the seasoned beef made the overall burger too salty for my taste. We came to eat her for brunch. We got the burger, the omelette, and the breakfast croissant sandwich and the beignets with chocolate sauce. YUM!!! Everything tasted delicious. The servers were professional and friendly and patient. We accidentally ordered the burger not seeing that it came with a blue cheese (which my sister doesn't prefer) and and wanted Swiss cheese instead. Either the chef/manager/owner so generously came out to us and asked if we wanted to fix the burger and re make it with the Swiss cheese. (We felt bad because it was our mistake) however the manager/owner/chef was so sweet about it and said they would do it, we said okay. The fact that they came out to ask us if we wanted to have them fix it for us was incredible. I would give their business all the referrals just based on their customer care service and making us feel so well taken care of. Overall a really pleasant experience. We didn't know what to expect when walking in. But, we were greeted with warm, cozy, rustic atmosphere. We were directed to sit at a high top table and offered menus. After browsing the menu, we settled on our choices. Soft scramble omelette, crepe forestiere, potato Mille-Feuillle with harissa, and a beignets with the chocolate sauce. The food was good - the highlights were the potato Mille-Feuille which was delicious crispy on the outside and tender soft on the inside. It has so many beautiful layers that paired well with the harissa! Warning, that harissa kicks and it made my lips tingle. The burger was supposed to be medium, but part of it looked really undercooked. I thought about sending it back but didn't. I was sad because the part I did eat was really tasty! Little puff stacks of potato with the brown demi-glace gravy is to "die for"!!! Be sure to pour the gravy on your potatoes! A definite must!!! My girlfriend didn't know and already ate all her potatoes! So remember to try it as you don't want to miss it! For dessert, we ordered the Banana Crepes: 2 crepes, filled with organic bananas with chocolate sauce topped with powdered sugar and a side of whipped cream. The crepes were thin and crispy and I could tell they used organic bananas! So I rated it only 4 stars because the crepes were served first before our burger! So by the time, we ate our dessert, it was cold and the whipped cream was melted!! Great place to go for a quiet breakfast. The food is underrated as a French bistro. It's simple, yet very approachable. I was surprised at the number of menu choices out they had. They even had items that are very difficult to find such as oeuff en meurette where the egg is poached in red wine, a classic brunch item made famous by French President Francois Mitterrand. The ambiance is very chill as at the time we went it was very peaceful - as you would expect in a neighborhood cafe. There were items on the wall so that you could feel the culture of it. The service for us was okay, we didn't have any issues as indicated in other reviews - perhaps because it wasn't so busy. The food was fantastic as the Farmhouse omelet was buttery, crepes were delicate, and the iberico bellato was divine (if you like iberico or prosciutto, you should try its more expensive cousin).
