Since I'm a fan of Hy's and Quiora, I had to check this place out as well, as all three are under the same company--and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. It's located at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach and is open from breakfast through dinner. The atmosphere is casual, and while there were quite a few children, it didn't feel chaotic at all, which I appreciated. That said, the jacuzzi right outside our table was bubbling pretty loudly, and I couldn't help but feel a bit like a fish in a tank at times. Our waiter was attentive and easily the hardest-working person in the restaurant (I wish I had caught his name!). There was some lingering chatter at the bar despite no customers seated there, so it took a while for us to get our first drinks. That initially worried me, but it ended up being the only hiccup. Our waiter acknowledged the delay and apologized, even though it clearly wasn't his fault. After that, the service flowed smoothly. We ordered the House Mai Tai and Hibiscus Margarita--both were excellent, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. One thing to note: the menu had just changed that day, which caught us off guard since we had looked it up online the night before. It took us a bit longer to decide what to order because of that. We started with the Edamame Hummus, which unfortunately fell a bit flat--it could have used more seasoning or a bit of a kick, like the cumin you'd typically expect in hummus. Next were the Crispy Wings with wasabi yukari salt and a side of yuzu ranch, which were flavorful and enjoyable. The Garlic Seared Ahi was decent but not particularly memorable, and the portion felt a bit small for the price. Lastly, we had the B.A.A.L.T. Sandwich (featuring Nueske's bacon, ahi katsu, avocado, local greens, Kawamata tomatoes, and yuzu kosho aioli on marble rye). This was quite good overall, though the smokiness of the bacon was slightly overpowering. Overall, I had a great experience and was glad to check off all three restaurants under the same umbrella.

On a lovely Friday night at sunset, we dined on their patio and enjoyed lite bites before our next engagement. From the lobby floor, our table was situated nicely by the piano with an excellent view at sunset. About the same time as our dinner, was a festival going on, complete with marching band. Our Server was quite friendly and helpful. Delilah did a great job telling us about their specials. She ensured we knew about dessert too! We shared the seafood platter which included oysters, shrimp, poke, and caviar. The caviar was served with toast, creme fraische, chives, and egg. Would have been nice for the caviar to have an appropriate serving spoon but we managed. We also shared the flat iron Steak which was medium rare. It came with a nice steak sauce. Very tender and tasty but could have been served at a warner temperature. For dessert, we had a lovely dark chocolate and cookie dough bite with macadamia nuts. Additionally we had a yuzu and kalamansi bite in a delicate pastry shell. Don't forget Friday night fireworks! Great view from the patio dining. They even dim the lights for better viewing during the fireworks. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Located in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Waikiki. Outdoor restaurant, overlooking Waikiki- you'll see hotels and the Ocean. The tables face the ocean view. The atmosphere for brunch is very calm, peaceful, and relaxing. It's a quiet environment, not loud at all. Service is very good. Food is amazing. Definitely recommend the crab cake benedict. Loved everything about this meal. I got lucky and found street parking right by the hotel. Went for a bday brunch. It is pricey but worth it.

Honestly impressed with my meal here. Came with my aunt and uncle and shared most of the dishes. To start, the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice since it overlooks Honolulu and the water. Really liked the open air concept. For appetizers, we got the johnny cornbread, chilled tofu, and strawberry and beet salad. The cornbread was a small portion but delicious, and the tofu was surprisingly flavorful. Wasn't a fan of the salad. I got the catch of the day, which was an amberjack. It was cooked so well and came on top of a yummy bed of squash. My aunt got the mushroom risotto. Now I normally don't like risotto but this one was so flavorful. I'd probably come back just for the risotto.

Solera is one of the many restaurants attached to the Ritz Carlton Residences in Waikiki that offers breakfast/brunch. If you're staying at the Ritz Carlton, you may have a breakfast credit that you can use here, but note that a 20% gratuity is included in the bill. The inside is nicely decorated and it's open air with a nice view of the horizon on all of the tables closest to the edge. At night you can catch an amazing sunset view with your dinner as it faces westward. The staff were all super polite and eager to accommodate any requests we had. They have a pretty vast menu offering traditional american breakfast, japanese bento box style breakfast, and some other classics with Hawaiian twists. Our group tried the Signature Lemon pancakes, Bento Box, Chicken & Waffles, Loco Moco and fruit plate. The lemon pancakes were super fluffy and included an ube coconut sauce which our group enjoyed. The bento box had an amazing piece of King Salmon that was grilled to perfection. It had crispy skin and a perfect amount of seasoning that paired well with the rice and salad. There was also some fresh papaya, miso soup, tamago and natto which were tasty side dishes. The loco moco had some fluffy rice with a nice sweet sauce on top of the meat and eggs. Our group really enjoyed this dish and recommend it. The chicken & waffles had crispy chicken with a sweet/spicy gochujang maple syrup that paired well with the waffle to absorb some of the spice. Overall really solid breakfast and we appreciated how kind the service was here.

Service: Our server Victoria was really sweet and consistently checking in on us. The options of food she suggested were all on point. Food: I had the miso butterfish, and that was so yummy and melted in your mouth! My friend had the garlic crab noodles that was so tasty!!

At Solera, you get a meal/experience with a view! Everyone from the valet to the restaurant staff were all very kind and friendly as well. We went for breakfast at about 10:15am on a Sunday and it was very relaxed but beautiful. The restaurant is open air, with a beautiful view of the ocean in the distance. It was a nice, sunny day but not hot because the restaurant sits recessed into the hotel walls. The food was DELICIOUS. My partner had the set breakfast special and I got the Twice-Fried Korean-Style Chicken and Waffle at the recommendation of my excellent and personable server, Summer. I wasn't sure what to get and she had multiple good recommendations, like the chicken and waffles and even the drinks (I had mango juice). The Korean chicken and waffle was so delicious. It's a twist on chicken and waffles for breakfast and I'm so glad I tried it. The dishes are made with locally grown foods (I love local farm to table ingredients), and everything was so fresh. The Korean chicken was bursting with flavor and was nicely mixed with daikon and topped with some local greens and flower petals. The waffle was crispy and the sweetness of the syrup went well with the saltier/spicier chicken. I also got to try some of my partners fresh fruit and the banana bread pancake from his set menu too and it was SO GOOD. The pancake was a banana break pancake, topped with a Chantilly sauce and coconut flakes, and it was like a whole dessert in itself. I would definitely get this if it were added to the regular menu. Service was excellent here as well and our drinks never ran dry and our table was always cleared promptly of any empty dishes. Summer and all of the restaurant staff were always smiling, being very personable, and making sure we were tended to. Overall, I loved coming here and loved everything about Solera, from the food to the people!

Fresh fruit bowl w/ yuzu syrup

First off, I thought the food was really, really good. The only thing better than the food was the service! I'm born and raised here but don't go into Waikiki too often. This was a nice treat for us, a leisurely Sunday brunch. Looked like there were some Ritz residents dining as well and it was a very relaxed vibe. I ordered the Mahalo Fest 2026 set menu which included fresh fruit, miso butterfish chazuke, and banana bread pancakes. SO glad I ordered that on the recommendation of our server, Summer. She also recommended the mango juice and that was excellent too. - Fresh fruit: your usual assortment with a yuzu syrup. The fruit was ice cold and super sweet. - Miso butterfish chazuke: butterfish was cooked perfectly. I'm pretty picky with fish since we can get it everywhere and I cook all kinds of fish at home. It had no bones, had a great color to it and was a good portion. It was on top white rice and you get tea poured table side into your bowl (thank you to Rubon, who was very friendly!) - Banana bread pancakes: wow. Would definitely order this by itself. I love banana bread so this was one of my faves. I highly recommend whatever specials they have, like the Mahalo Fest set that I had. Yes, you're paying a little more here but you're also paying for the service and view. It was so relaxing looking out into the blue sky and Waikiki beach skyline. We never had the chance to ask for anything because we always had our water and coffee refilled, new utensils after our entree, and our empty dishes were cleared immediately. Like everyone, we're on a budget but life is short so sometimes you have to treat yourself. Thank you to Summer and everyone else there, we'll definitely be back! The restaurant validates your parking if you park just to dine here which is nice, and the valet service was great. Helpful hint: the roundabout to park is inside the half roundabout you see from the street. You drive into and over the stone driveway (which looks like a sidewalk).

Came here long ago when it was La Vie and it looks like they rebranded. They're located in the Ritz. The views from the restaurant is so scenic and perfect for a special occasion, especially at sunset. Overall, food was great. We started off with the cornbread - it had a lot going on but the flavors all blended well together. I don't know how else to describe it except for unique. Their steaks come with their crushed Parmesan's potatoes and a sauce, so it's really nice instead of the usual Ala carte menus you see at steakhouses. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the potatoes. I got the bordelaise and it was good but I definitely prefer the chimichurri. To round out the night, they have a dessert tray that they bring around and it's included in the meal. They had 3 types of desserts and you can choose to try some or all of it. I got one of each but my friend only wanted one type, so they gave her an extra piece of it. Service was super friendly and they were happy to answer our questions. Had a great experience!

Wonderful!!! We were escorted by Quiora's Manager Preston (from dining there for dinner to Solera for dessert). The vibe here is upscale comfort with its open air and amazing views of Waikiki and ocean views at the Ritz Carlton. This is the perfect place to watch the Friday fireworks without the crowd and fuss of parking since valet service is available. Their menu is extensive with a fine list of well known brands of spirits. The menu is also filled with incredible cuisine we have yet to experience. Hubby loved that they had a six course Chef's Menu and would like to try it next time. Love the smooth music played by the cool pianist as you enter. It was very relaxing on a pau hana Friday evening. We were fortunate to have an incredible hostess Kira greet us and server Daniel who was attentive and sweet. Manager Marcus was friendly and kind as we wanted to earn our stamps to complete our Mahalo card. We definitely will come back for dinner with some friends. Tonight we had their famous Hashi-gori dessert which was light and flavorful-the pistachio and chocolate. Very airy like a Taiwanese shaved ice without the jellies. I had chamomile tea which paired well with our dessert. I wish I could share more but perhaps in my next review when we have a full meal and with friends & family. This is definitely a hidden gem that we will add to the G. Lion of restaurants (Hy's, Quiora, & Solera, and their lovely online bake shop)!

Opened in March 2025, a new dining concept from the owner of both Hy's Hawaii and Quora; a Hawaii regional cuisine steakhouse. It needs a lot of work. Across the board, dishes are under seasoned, over cooked, and poorly thought out. For example the "Cornbread Johnny cake", a sweetened corn meal pancake topped with equal portions of an egg mousse and whipped honey butter, dotted with caviar and micro greens. Warm. The first bite solid but due to the excess honey butter, the dish becomes too sweet. It overpowers the caviar. Eventually your tongue and roof of your mouth are greasy. Another example, "Seafood Koshikari Risotto", WTF? Shrimp and fish (they ran out of mussels) are cut into tiny pieces and cooked with well washed, starch free Koshikari rice in a seafood saffron broth that must have included oyster jus. The result is revolting. Extremely overcooked rubber bullets with soupy smelly, briny rice. Topping it with the wrong microgreen turns the entire dish bitter. The "Chilled Crab Salad" made of imitation crab (the only real crab it could have been is king crab body meat but this lacked crab flavor or any sweetness) for $45. One dimensional lacking seasoning. No taste of the supposed dill and citrus dressing. For overcooked and under seasoned, both the catch of the day, ono, and a roasted chicken served with charred black but still raw broccoli, fit the description. As for the complimentary dessert offerings; what happened to the sugar? Pass. The highlight of the entire meal, the "Hashi-gori". A take on the traditional Japanese kakigori. Ordered the mango. Outstanding. Powdery ice topped with a sauce made from pureed fresh mango and condensed milk studded with fresh mango. Wow and the only food item keeping the rating at two stars. Service is very good. Live piano music a nice touch. Extremely disappointing from a restaurant that has had its grand opening and an unfit dining option to offer to guests of a Ritz Carlton property.

Really serene and inviting place to have breakfast in Waikiki. Our server Summer was delightful and very kind, and service was prompt, didn't have to wait long at all for the food. Prices are definitely on the higher side but do keep in mind this restaurant is located in the Ritz Carlton Waikiki. I was staying a night there so I had the $80 AMEX FHR credit to spend, but still spent over that amount due to the already added gratuity. Overall, if I'm staying at the Ritz again I would definitely come back to dine here.

Easy to make reservations. Has a good breakfast selection of high quality ingredients. Nice view of the beach and water from where we sat. Has birds that do come by as a warning for those not expecting it.

Hi, this restaurant is no longer La Vie/is a completely different restaurant now, correct? Where is the Yelp page for The Terrace Waikiki as this page is named that when someone Google searches? Thanks

    Any vegan or vegetarian menu?

    What is the dress code?

    Hawaii Formal.

Is it a kids friendly restaurant?

No kid menu. The menu is a bit fancy for young ones!

During covid, is it normal for people to book for the late time slots due to crazy amount of reservations up to a month(8:45PM and 9:00PM)? I was a server for years and remember that feeling when there was a last minute reservation or walk in.

Reservations are filling up due to limited seating and increase of tourists. Reservations are hard to get and during poplar times, so booking a month or more in advance is the norm these days. Late time slots are all that is usually left. Only…

What is the corkage fee here?

It is $40 for each bottle.

    Is there a DJ?

La Vie is a French restaurant, not a night club.

Does everyone in the same party have to order the same amount of dishes?

You can order 3 or 5 course but it's better to order same amount of courses. The 5 course takes longer and the people with the 3 courses may have a long wait in between courses.

    What is the dress code?

There is no strictly-enforced dress code as we did see some people in T-shirt and shorts. I believe it is "resort wear" as the restaurant is in a hotel in Waikiki and the restaurant is open-air so it can get hot.

How long does it take to go through the five course tasting menu? (Want to go before an 8pm show at the Blaisdell)

I'd probably not have any post dinner obligations when dining at this establishment. It is French style which almost always means a slow paced care free flow. You might want to come with no after-plans so you can enjoy the evening and the food…

We walked in and the hostess was super sweet. She informed us that they were wiping down a table and we got seated within 10 minutes. It was our first time here and we've both heard and saw good things but we asked for extra time to look over the menu and our server was patient and gave us more time and offered some recommendations as well. We chose a handful of small plates and the softshell crab pasta with all the extra stuff and it was the perfect amount of food for us. We were more wanting drinks and pupus so our selections fit that but I'm sure if we wanted an actual dinner, we would have also be satisfied with the offerings they have. My only complaint about our overall meal is that the cocktails didn't complement the food. The drinks on its own were good and the food on its own was good, very good but together, bleh. The bone marrow had a slight sweetness to it that I didn't care for too much but it wasn't horrible and it was cooked perfectly, not over done including the crostini's. The octopus was cooked good (I would prefer it be a little softer) but still very enjoyable and the flavors were really good. The pasta and soft shell, cooked perfectly and flavors on point. So much so that I need the recipe so I can add this dish into my dinner rotation! The decor is nice.. when we first walked in, I thought we were gonna get a table right by the door, along the window, and I didn't want that, but we ended up getting a table closer to the bathroom (I think it was the bathroom?) and I liked that area. The area by the bathroom gives off chill, classy vibes, but the other area was giving me, fast food, sit down area vibes.

The progression of dishes felt thoughtful and creative-- * Crispy Salt & Vinegar Chicken Skin (the perfect starter crunch) * Soupe de Poisson (deep, comforting flavors) * Pina Colada Granita (a refreshing palate cleanser) * Pan Seared Scallops (my personal favorite--perfectly caramelized and tender) * Double Cut Rack of Lamb (succulent and cooked to perfection) * Lemon Crème Brûlée Tart (a sweet, bright finish) Every plate was elegant, well-executed, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a balance between sophisticated and welcoming. Dim lighting, intimate tables, and quiet elegance make you feel like you've stepped into a hidden gem in the middle of Kaimuki. Honestly, I felt like a celebrity dining here. Service was polished but never pretentious--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the courses, and kept the pacing of the meal just right. For the level of creativity and execution, Carte Blanche feels like an affordable luxury in Honolulu's dining scene. Perfect for anniversaries, date nights, or anytime you want an elevated experience without flying to the mainland. Highly recommend booking a reservation--you'll want to savor every moment here.

Morimoto Asia Waikiki was the perfect way to end my Hawaii trip, and it absolutely delivered. I…read moremade a reservation for a tuesday at 5:30 PM, and it wasn't busy at all -- which made for a relaxed, enjoyable experience and easy conversation. I was seated on the lanai with a beautiful ocean view and had the privilege of watching the sunset while dining, which truly elevated the entire evening. Sky and Ke-Von took exceptional care of me -- both were incredibly friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. My sparkling water was constantly refilled, service was prompt, and I never once felt rushed or overlooked. Dining solo felt completely comfortable and not awkward at all, which I really appreciated. I started with the lilikoi mocktail with tequila added, which was refreshing and well balanced. The hamachi tacos featured extremely fresh fish -- clean, high quality, and delicious, though I felt it could have used a bit more "oomph," but still very enjoyable. The sticky ribs, however, were absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, unbelievably moist, and falling off the bone -- I was genuinely blown away and in disbelief at how good they were. Easily one of the standout dishes of the night. I ordered the hot and sour soup as a palate cleanser and to help with digestion, and it was excellent -- flavorful with a satisfying burn. The highlight of the entire meal was the A5 Ishiyaki Wagyu (3 oz). You're served 4-5 pieces; the first slice is cooked for you, and you cook the rest yourself (about 15-30 seconds). It's accompanied by chimichurri, sea salt, sweet ginger soy, and ponzu, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Mine was A5 Miyazaki, Japan (Quality Grade 5) -- the real deal. I truly thought I'd had great Wagyu before, but this completely blew me out of the water. The richness, texture, and flavor were unreal, and it paired beautifully with the sweet ginger soy. Absolutely worth the splurge. For dessert, I ordered the malasadas (5 pcs) served with bananas foster and whipped cream. They were unbelievably light, fluffy, and served fresh -- perfectly sweet without being overly sugary or bitter. An absolutely delightful dessert and a flawless way to end the meal. Overall, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Beautiful ambiance, excellent service, world-class food, and a stunning lanai sunset view. I highly recommend making a reservation, as I hear it books up quickly. If you go, don't miss the sticky ribs, malasadas, and Wagyu. I was looking to end my Hawaii trip with a bang, and Morimoto Asia Waikiki exceeded every expectation. I'll definitely be back soon.

My bad review is entirely based on how terrible the food was. For context, we ordered Tonkatsu…read moreramen and Tsukemen dipping ramen. Ramen, according to the server, was the most popular thing on the menu, so how likely could it get messed up? Tonkatsu: Rich, but lacked any salt or had very little. We requested some salt and that instantly made the ramen better. The noodles had enough salt to carry it, but the broth was not great. It tasted like the broth was watered down or reconstituted, however no seasoning was added to re-adjust the broth. Broth: Had little salt and lacked punch, umami, and was brown instead of white. Noodles: Had enough salt to taste good, but was slightly overcooked Pork: Extremely bland. Tasted like zero salt was added during cooking. Toppings: Greatly lacking in toppings Tsukemen: The Tsukemen had a lot of the same issues. Now being a dipping ramen, the broth should be even richer and more flavorful than any normal ramen. Tsukemen -- no matter where you have it in Japan, should be richer and saltier than most broths, but the broth here was severely lacking. For $26 a bowl this was worse than your DIY frozen ramen packs. Now I'm not asking for Japan-level of ramen mastery here, this is after all, just a tourist spot -- but if your Tonkatsu is the best selling item, you have to step it up. Our server did mention that some people complained about the amount of salt in ramen, so they adjusted it. But dare I say, instead of diluting the normal salt/seasoning amount for everyone, couldn't you just add a separate, flavor-light version for people inexperienced with ramen, instead of diluting the original for everyone else? If you're reading this Mr. Morimoto, I would highly encourage you to fly here and order the ramen. I think you and I would share the same opinions. P.S. I've also been to your other Morimoto spots and it was not this bad.

We had a 4 hour layover in Honolulu and it was a quick 15 minute Lyft ride here to Lucky Belly. We were the only party here right at 5:30 pm. Loved the art and clean simple elegance of the exposed brick wall and wood tables. We were greeted and served by a very friendly host. We had the duck tacos, plus the special dim sum appetizer combo of pork belly bao, lobster dumplings and oxtail dumplings. We could not pick a favorite. The variety of textures was fantastic and each of the meat fillings were perfectly seasoned and tender, delicious! Each had a different sauce- just enough, not too much. Nothing was spicy but there was chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more heat. We got 2 nonalcoholic spritzers, one lilikoi and one hibiscus, which were each refreshing and complimented the meal. Since the service was so efficient, after eating, we still had time to zip over to Magic Island to stroll around, take in the scene and enjoy the sunset before heading back to the airport. Our last evening in Hawaii was really special thanks to this delightful restaurant!
