[[HIGHLIGHT]]Always Busy and Full of Happy Diners here at Mokes and Surprisingly this morning was Empty Diners and No Waiting Line[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Luckily We had very Peaceful and Quiet Mothers Day Breakfast this morning[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ‼

I came here on a weekend around 0930 with a large group. Wait time was about 15 minutes. I ordered the vegetable omelette which was good. I liked how they used the cheery tomatoes and fresh ingredients. It was perfectly cooked. I ordered the side of hash browns and liked how it wasn't salty. The only thing was that hash browns were lukewarm in the inside. This restaurant is pricier than other breakfast places, around $30 for breakfast and coffee for mine.

Very solid breakfast spot. The item that keeps me coming back is the liliko'i pancakes. I've tried all the other popular breakfast spots but this one hits different. The food is above average and usually I go with the loco moco but decided not to this time. But definitely try their loco moco. I believe the kailua location is the original location and looks better than this one but, this location no need for a wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seems like not a lot of people know of this location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Solid breakfast spot and you will not be disappointed with the liliko'i pancakes!

Was in the area and decided to try this spot coz of the reviews. The reviews held up, [[HIGHLIGHT]]really good food, service and island ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came in on Sunday at 0745 and we beat the rush. Had a wait around 0820. Had the secret menu moco combo. This tasted really good. Just wish it had more corned beef hash. The pancakes were cooked very well...fluffy, buttery and just delicious. The portion sizes are huge. We went with our servers recommendation to order two main plates savory and sweet to share amongst 3 of us. This with two sides of hash browns and bacon worked great. We ate it all and weren't over full. Highly recommend this.

This place was pretty decent. I messed with the Lillikoi pancakes but I was expecting it to be a bit sweeter and less sour. My friends got other secret menu items and I think they were pretty fire too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Other than that it was a nice lil breakfast spot to cap off a successful Hawaii trip.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here for a Saturday brunch an hour before closing, surprisingly it wasn't busy. Service was prompt & we started off with lilikoi pancakes, loco moco, and French toast. The pancakes were amazingly light and fluffy. The loco moco gravy was the best on island I've had so far. We wanted to sub white rice for fried but they ran out since we came so late in the day. I was getting full fast, so I did not try the French toast but my friend ate most of it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little brunch spot with a breezy atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came for the sunrise special, specifically likikoi pancakes. Food is solid. It's kind of pricey in my opinion for a breakfast. About $20/ person before tips (lilikoi sauce is +$3, used to be +$2). But that's the going rate these days I suppose. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is friendly and restaurant is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a shared parking lot that's 75 cents/ half hour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get busy depending on the time of day you're there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Gosh the brunch here was sooooo delicious! Was just what we were lookin for, classic Hawaiian brunch wit incredible pancakes! I'll be missing the Lilikoi pancakes until I return. Cored beef hash was out of this world. Parking lot is lie $2-3 i think. Not bad! They all have a great drink selection both alcohol and non alcoholic.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We dined in for breakfast around 10:30 and it was nice and empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were immediately sat at a table inside and greeted by the server. She was very attentive and gave us recommendations on her menu favorites. I got the lilikoi pancakes and the moke nui omelette with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were crispy and not salty at all. I really enjoyed it. The lilikoi pancakes were SO good! I honestly loved this more than the omelette. It was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. The server recommended it, so we just got it to try and we were so surprised that we loved it. I would definitely order this again.

Great food! We ordered a home style breakfast, a veggie omelet and a Lilikoi pancakes! Hard to find the location because it's within the parking area but managed to find it. Great staff!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Smallish, unassuming spot. Ambiance reminds of a slightly updated local diner feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The breakfast menu provides plenty of options - sweet, savory, and local favorites. Loco Moco with optional fried rice sounded delicious. The gravy was very good, fried rice was a great adder, and the burger patty was flavorful. Service was good as well. Although I didn't try them, the pancakes were quite popular and looked really good. N*joy!

Yummy omelette with mile high hash browns and tasty cinnamon French toast with bananas.

Great yummy food, highly recommend. Wanted to try a new place for brunch, saw the yelp good ratings. Came about noon. Had to wait a little bit for a table for two. Coffee was good, nice start. Omelet was very tasty--the accompanying Hashbrowns were without exception some of the best we've ever had. They were at least 2" high, fried just right, crispy (not burnt) moist potatoes--cooked perfectly. The cinnamon French toast was delicious. Will definitely come again. Parking is metered parking on the street, did not take too long to find a spot. Sure would like to try their pork hash--next time, have to come early.

Had a late breakfast at around 1130am. Decided on Moke's Bread and Breakfast in Kaimuki. I enjoyed a different location before. The music playing is loud. The menu is a little smaller than past menus. The lunch salads was appealing but I decided on breakfast. The description of the homemade corned beef hash sounded great but what I received was a pinkish looking patty. I took a picture of what the corned beef patty looked like when broken open. I was hungry so I did eat it but it seemed to be ground up and reconstituted into a patty. It did not look like it came from a brisket. It has a very salty taste as well. I did add shoyu to my rice without tasting the corned beef hash first. Eating the corned beef with the toast did balance out the salt with the bread. The service was courteous and helpful. There was no waiting time. We were seated in a spacious table. Liked the various photos of Diamond Head Crater with various cloud and shadows. Good ambiance in the restaurant.

Do they serve any gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles?

Is this place an all day breakfast or do they have a certain time they stop?

Kaimuki closes at 2 and they serve breakfast till then

    Anything gluten free?

Aloha! Yes, we have many gluten free options including all of our omelets, steak and eggs, corned beef hash, stuffed hash browns and salads!

    Do they take reservations?

Not too sure. Walked in and had to wait 20 minutes

    Is Mokes Kaimuki accessible?

From my memory, no. They may have a la elevator to the second floor, but it is extremely tight seating.

    Do you have delivery?

Aloha! Normally we do via DoorDash but unfortunately we were burglarized in the last few days and our ordering system was stolen. We are waiting for a new one. Once received we will have it back up and running.

Where do I put my name down for waitlist?? No one answers the phone and message says mailbox is full....

No online waitlist. They have a sign in if it is crowded.

Aloha! Yes, breakfast is all day

    Is this restaurant wheelchair accessible?

    NO, sorry to say.

He described everything with such care that it was hard not to order everything! I'd highly recommend a reservation as there was not an empty table the entire two hours we were there. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it can get quite loud but our table had great conversations and a overall lovely time. Appetizer: We ordered the konpachi hush puppies (apologies, they had a nicer name but this is how they were described to us) and they were delicious! I'm not a lover of fish, but these were so flavorful and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Drinks: I had the meringue di cedri to drink and it was akin to a lemon drop (10/10) it was sippable and lasted my whole meal. Husband had the Hana Koa Rice Breaker, which is one of his favorites as its smooth and pairs well with honestly anything. Entree: You will be missing out if you don't get the lemon risotto. I ordered it with the prosciutto and it may be one of the best meals I've had in Hawaii. The zucchini is done two ways in it: diced to be mixed in with the risotto and thinly sliced and grilled on top of the risotto. The panko crumbs on top really solidified the plate for me as top tier as risotto can get to be boring to eat after a few bites as they can lack texture, but not this risotto! Every bite was a journey and it was a very filling meal. My husband ordered the Korean steak and said it was better than some of the local steakhouses we had gone to. Our friend ordered the spaghetti carbonara and enjoyed it as well. Dessert: We were encouraged to try the Rocky Road ice cream and decided it was a must have when you visit. It was creamy, rich and delectable. We also opted to try the dessert special of the evening which was a Lilikoi cheesecake with a chocolate mousse. The cheesecake had a sour tang to it and the chocolate mousse partner with it to balance it out so it wasn't overly sweet. We loved it and I know in a few days we'll be craving this meal all over again!

France meets Italy - meets Hawaii. I'm still dreaming of this. The burger features a thick, juicy, 8-ounce grass-fed patty made from a custom house-selected blend of short rib, chuck roast, and brisket. Get it with the crispy potatoes. You will thank me. Risotto on point. Luxuriously rich, creamy texture. The rice retains a slight al dente bite in the center, giving it structure rather than letting it become mushy. Prosciutto adds a perfect salty, savory crunch to break up the rich risotto. The only misstep was the fries served with the quinoa burger. They were chalky, served at room temperature, limp, and underseasoned. Excellent friendly informal service. Park at the municipal parking on Bethel St just 1/2 block away. Happy Eating!!

Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. The smoked octopus was sliced in pieces that were too thick and a little too chewy and the andouille sausage and black pepper overpowered the dish. Ordered the bourbon and bone marrow mostly for the presentation. It was WAAAY too rich and needed more bread to go with it. They should've served it with bread that wasn't buttered because the buttered bread even though tasty by itself was just too rich in combination with all of that bone marrow. The dish needed more balance. The ice cream sundae was unremarkable. Would have preferred it served with a choice of hot fudge or the caramel drizzle and since it was plain vanilla ice cream they could've drizzled a lot more caramel over it. The waitress did bring us more nuts when we asked, but they were busy at the time and she was the only server so it took her a while to get to us, and the ice cream was pretty melted by the time she delivered. We got there when they opened at 5 PM and they had two servers at that time. The place wasn't busy so it seemed like they had enough help for the amount of tables that were being seated. An hour and a half later, though, one server was missing (possibly taking a lunch break) and the only server remaining at several big parties to take care of which slowed down her responsiveness to the other smaller tables like ours. The music playing in the background seemed to fit the environment and was pleasant to listen to. It's a pretty casual atmosphere. The prices for what you get are a bit on the high end. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else is paying. We didn't feel too bad this time because we had a gift certificate which covered most of our bill. Maybe we were choosing all the wrong items and should have just stuck to ordering meat dishes, which they might be better at making (with a name like Livestock). You'll have to check this place out yourself and see if they do a better job with meat and if the prices for those dishes are more reasonable. I gave this place four stars instead of three because the servers were friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was mostly okay (tasty enough and filling).

It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. Loved: The street tacos with the tempura shrimp were easily the star of the meal. 100% worth it. Light, crispy shrimp with a flavorful slaw and just the right amount of heat--basically a flavor party in every bite. The burger was another quiet star. Juicy patties, nicely seasoned, and stacked just right. Nothing super flashy, but really satisfying. Definitely a good pick if you're not in the mood for brunchy stuff. The Miss: Tried the French toast and... meh. It looked great on the plate but tasted dry and definitely didn't live up to the level of the other dishes. Might've just been an off day or a matter of personal taste, but I'd skip it next time.

The pastries were just okay; we tried a few cake slices that were fine but unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was dry and hard, the malasadas were forgettable, and the haupia-filled malasada was surprisingly tart. It's possible some ingredients were locally sourced and just unfamiliar to our mainland palates, or maybe we simply caught them on an off day. The servers were curt but friendly, likely because the place was packed with tourists.

My fiance won a gift card actually 2 of them (from his coworker whom could not get a reservation secured), we knew we had to make the trip over before they officially close. We had multiple dishes, but staff made Kauai prawns and tomato miso black cod dishes on the house since they ran out the Hokkaido scallops. We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with giving us recommendations. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees, and honestly it was too much food for us. We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
