I'm a huge fan of wood-fired oven pizza. The slightly charred crust, the smoky flavor mingling with the cheese and meat, adding a nice, acidic tang to the sauce. Delicious. This pizza had tangy sauce. Otherwise, it had nothing else a wood-fired oven offers. I even asked for crispy crust, which didn't really happen. Really, it's on par with Round Table. Fresher-tasting, but this is not what most people look for in wood-fired oven pizza. Just OK. read more

Firstly, the pizza here is pretty good. I like wood-fired pizzas (have a ceramic wood oven myself) and I find the pizza at Farrelli's very tasty. Haven't tried much else other than a salad a time or two, which have been fine. However, the service in the dining area is S...L...O...W Doesn't matter time of day, how busy or not they appear, it is a very long wait from being seated, to drink orders, to getting the bill. Mind you, I've never found the service to be unfriendly, but it is noticeable just how languid the pacing of a meal here tends to be. Also, the dining area is a bit of a mish mash, a more coherent look and feel would go a long ways towards a nicer atmosphere. Bathroom (men's room anyway) is tired and dirty, always a turnoff. So, the food is good to very good, so hopefully the in-house issues can get resolved, I'm willing to try a few more times for certain. read more

Our pizzas were adequate but lacked in the flavor/seasoning department. The seating layout is oddly shaped, but not a negative. The rest if the staff seemed distracted. This is my husband and my date spot either after church or when we crave the spaghetti and meatballs. We drive from the Kent East hill all the way to Sumner for this place. We had one bad experience and the Manager Autumn invited us back. I didn't want to go back but my husband did so we went back and never ever had a bad experience since then. The people who work there are amazing! And the food .. Perfect. This past Sunday we finished church and waited outside 45 mins for this place to open and once again service was excellent , Jesse was our server and the food was delicious. I waited 30 mins for a table for 4. 2 kids under age of 10, were cranky and hungry. 2 parties of 5 were seated before us. The hostess thought we had more in our party when we were sitting right in front. Pizza and cheese sticks were good though. I am so happy that on our final night of dining in the south end was in a high note. Devon, our server, was so attentive and made sure we were never without what we needed. He made great recommendations on the menu, and told us how he would modify it according to our dietary restrictions. It was amazing! My terrible experience at Farrelli's compelled me to open a Yelp account. No food. No respect. No way. We waited 45-60 and did not receive our very simple order. During that time we received no indication that there would be a delay and were only checked on once in that time. When asked about the progress of our meal the waitstaff accused us of lying about our wait time and would check the time stamp on our receipt. It was clear that they forgot our order. Having waited nearly an hour the waitstaff then informed us that our pizzas would be fired soon. There was no apology for their error or long wait. We asked to pay for the 1 drink and small side salad we received and informed the staff we wanted to leave. They offered for us to speak a manager but one never met with us. Apologies were given to other tables for the wait but not ours. After the fact they blamed a party for the long wait time. We order 1 small pizza, a personal size pizza, and a small side salad. All we wanted was a quick and simple lunch with my mother on a Saturday. We ended up going to a nearby local restaurant and were served a delicious meal in 10 minutes. read more

I like to think I'm a relatively reasonable person. I don't expect a whole lot and I'm pretty nice. That being said I am baffled and appalled at Farrelli's in Sumner, WA. I have had the same situation happen to me 5 time now. 5 TIMES over the last year. I call and order a Fettuccine Alfredo. Two ingredients and they're right in the name. 5 times I have gone, picked up my order and went home to open it to find NO ALFREDO SAUCE. That's right. Noodles. I paid almost $15 for a pile of noodles. I got exactly half of what I paid for. Sometimes, if I had added bacon or sausage, it tastes like maybe they tossed the pasta and meat together. It's all oily and greasy. If there is ANY alfredo sauce there is almost none. I mean the cheap $1 microwaveable Fettuccine Alfredo has more "alfredo" in it. I've tried ordering it different ways. I've tried adding extra alfredo sauce. I even ordered it once with sauce on the side. I ended up getting no sauce on the side and no alfredo on my noodles. I have never once gone up there screaming because I am not that person. I returned the dish once and then the next time I went there the person working the bar treated me like an idiot, heckling me "make sure you check it for alfredo". I can't wrap my head around it. How can the staff be that ignorant? It can't be possible. Then is it malevolence? What is happening???!!!! All I want to do is order the simplest Italian dish ever created and they can't put noodles and sauce (both of which they have) together? I go to this place all the time and get drinks and/or carry out pizza. But I hardly ever order the pasta because of this issue. I wait a bit and decide to try it again and this. I have been going there for 3 years now on a monthly basis I would say. Tonight is the final straw and I won't be going back. If their cooks can't grasp the concept of putting fettuccine and alfredo together how are they qualified to handle my food? Think about that. read more

I had a day....a crazy one. I'm pregnant and emotionally unstable. But, the bartender here, Chelsea made my day. She pulled me a good winner in pull tabs, fed me, and said how sweet I was. Food is great...service is better. This place was packed and I watched these servers scramble to get everyone's last minute happy hour orders in. Decided to sit in the bar area since it was fairly open. Our drink orders were taken and delivered pretty quickly,but the wait for our food order was about 15 minutes. Once ordered, 2 12 " pizzas and a side salad, it took another 15 minutes for a wilted caeser salad to arrive.. fast forward another 35 minutes or so, our pizzas came.. crust was room temp and only the center of the pizza was warm. During that time, one of the servers turned up the tv volume for the football game, it was so loud that I could actually feel the sound vibrations through the floor.
