Hands Down the Best Spot in South Hill! I have been here a few times and always leave satisfied. If you're looking for the ultimate spot to celebrate a birthday, The Meridian is it! We came here for my friend's birthday and the vibe was absolutely immaculate!!!! Exactly the kind of energy you want for a special night out. Let's talk about the service: Brian and Jason are absolute legends. They took such good care of us and honestly made the whole experience 10x better. They're attentive, super friendly, and just know how to make you feel like a VIP. The bar has everything you need. Reanee is the sweetest and will customize to your hearts desire ensuring your whistle is wet Now, the food... wow. The chicken is straight-up fire, but the real game-changer is the Lemon Pepper SAUCE. I've only ever had the dry rub before at other spots, but having it as a wet sauce is a total revelation. It's zesty, peppery, and addictive... I'm never going back to dry rub again. Amazing food, killer service, and a great atmosphere. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out. Highly recommend!

Blank table due to very poor service! We walked out after 20 minutes.

We came here for the first time for drinks and small plates. There was a birthday party, but it was still not that bad of a crowd for five employees and the kitchen staff. We were sat, no water was brought to our table for about ten minutes. Then finally the water arrived and we placed our drink order. That was the last we saw of the employees. Two of them constantly looking at the computer, two ladies talking behind the bar, and one girl catering to the party. I don't think they can handle being in business. Someone needs to teach them how to run a bar and restaurant. I don't recommend this place and I am not planning on ever giving them any business!

Decided to try this new place in Puyallup. It's in the old Mexican restaurant location off 120Th and Meridian. Its remodeling is done well and has that fun speakeasy vibe. The day we went they were have a few issues but the food like the Apple Cider brined Airline chicken and Pork Chop. As dishes go they were good but could use some improvement as the carrots needed to be cooked more but the glaze was good as were the potatoes. The dessert Empanadas (apple) are yummy with e caramel sauce. The Strawberry Shortcake can use a little work. Service was very good and both owners were doing table touches and waiting on customers. Overall great service. Ok a 5 rating with this review you ask, yes. It's a new place and things happen. So we will be back.

I was extremely excited to try this new "speakeasy" that I heard about in Puyallup. In my mind it was gonna be dimly lit, old school, classy dark-colored furniture, easy listening jazzy music playing softly in the background and a warm ambiance that was inviting, once you stepped in. That's what I picture when I hear speakeasy. A very intimate setting. However, this was completely opposite. It was bright, with a mishmash of decor. I wasn't sure if there was a theme. There were fake plants and a column/pillar with mirrors on it, an Amazon Forrest mural on the wall with televisions up on a couple. Felt like a sports bar. The tables and chairs were your average styled booths, that light-colored wood. It was sooooo cold inside. When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice young lady. She seemed to have a puzzled look on her face as to why we were there. My husband stated we had reservations. So now we were seated. Time to order. Looking over the menu, I see the pricing and was like "ok, a lil higher priced type of menu" I was down to give it a try. We ordered the calamari and zucchini chips for apps and then the butternut squash risotto with scallops (approx $30) for me and the brined chicken ($28) for my husband as well as a side of broccolini ($14). The apps came out first and I was honestly shocked. The calamari were so tiny and the zucchini looked like what they would serve in a bowling alley. Both dishes had the "mama lil's peppers" in it. I'm okay with the portion size but how are you charging $20 for calamari and $14 for the zucchini? Then we received our entrees. Again, we were looking for an elevated dining experience with the pricing of the food, to include presentation and all. I was disappointed to see the cheap cafeteria-like silverware and dish ware it was served on. Now understand the food was good. Not OMG WE ARE COMING BACK kinda good. But mid. Nothing wrong with that but the way they advertise is as if you are about to have a romantic, chill and classy dining experience. It's okay to be mid tier. I won't be mad about it. My dish was not butternut squash risotto, it was a mushroom risotto with 4 mid sized scallops. My husband's chicken was nicely seasoned and flavored and the mashed potatoes it came with, delish. He had caramelized carrots but some were straight black. Maybe a bit much heat. The broccolini was drowning in a cream sauce with onions and mama lil's peppers, slightly overcooked. Needless to say, it wasn't the dinner I was expecting, especially paying almost $200 for it. We did have a couple drinks and those were good. Customer service was on point. The staff were accommodating and helpful. I would kinda expect that since there were only us and another table in the dining room area. I had high hopes but sadly, not the vibe I was looking for. I've been to a fair share of a lil more upscale restaurants and this didn't hit that point for me personally. I think with lower prices and refraining from calling it a speakeasy, it could do well. Just my opinion. Oh they had a lil area for taking selfies available. Thank you for a nice date night with my hubby. We had a chance to have some one on one time together.

The ambiance once you enter the door is yours to make: you can either choose the traditional and more family friendly side of this establishment, or you can choose to enter into their speak-easy part. Despite this being a newer restaurant, the service was very professional with a family-home style hospitality. The staff was completely transparent on what type of wait times to expect during your entire visit as their farm-to-table style of service does take a bit more longer than commonly expected times at other big-chaim restaurants. The drinks and food were both memorably delicious!

We didn't exactly get the speakeasy vibe we were looking for (it was a slow Sunday and the host said they had the secret sliding bookshelf/bar entry door open already when we got there). But once you get into the bar area, it does have the 1920s/prohibition vibe going.. music was good. And the food was on point! For starters, we got the seafood dip, which was warm n cheesy.. we also got the steak Diablo. I thought it was going to be a plate of steak and baguettes with sauce but it was more of a stew or soup that the strips of steak sat in, but still yummy. I got the cider brined chicken for dinner which was deliciousssss Drinks are good and the staff is friendly. Def worth a try!

This is the best keep secret in Puyallup right now. Everything was spectacular. The menu doesn't try to do everything which makes everything amazingly tasty. And, the curated drinks!! Try the Key Ljme Martini. You will not be disappointed! #themeridiansouth.hill @themeridiansouth.hill #buzzybooth

If you're looking for a good time with great food and an unforgettable vibe, The Meridian is where it's at! The space is absolutely beautiful, the food is top-tier, and the drinks? Let's just say you won't forget them anytime soon. It's also a total photo moment--between their chic photo booth and stylish mirror setup, you can capture memories you'll want to relive again and again. Fresh, new, and such a welcome addition to Puyallup, The Meridian delivers on every level. And the heart behind it all? The incredible staff and owners--friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making your experience special. I already can't wait for my next visit!

We dialed in so that the hidden door could be opened and let us pass. This a great looking place hidden away in Stadium. The drinks menu is extensive and the galley menu looks great. Our party of three was seated at a two-top but that may have been because we accidentally made reservations for two and then emailed about a change. We ordered two Viking Fogcutters and a Miskatonic Mistake for drinking along with some focaccia and deviled eggs for munching. That pretty much fills the entire table. The drinks were great! The bread and eggs were very tasty. The focaccia was super fluffy and warm. We added three salmon chowders to eat after devouring the eggs and focaccia. The three large bowls barely fit on the table but we made it work. The chowder and biscuits were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful (certainly not part of the Esoteric Order of Dagon).

The chicken was satisfying, the rose udon was rich and comforting, and everything paired nicely with the soju. Is it the best Korean food I have ever had?
