Our resort has a game room but it can be overwhelmed with screaming teenagers and there are no prizes. Seaside has a lot to do and see all within walking distance of our resort. There is an arcade just a block away from us. With a teen in tow, we found ourselves feeling youthful and wanting some video game time. One of my favorite games and childhood memories. I've loved taking my own kids there to experience the fast and furious excitement. But doubling the price of each game has priced us out and we skip it entirely now. It was so fun, putting the quarters out for them to grab like old school days, but now the automated card readers sometimes delay or fail causing you to miss a game or start late. Too convoluted. Raised the price yet limited the amount of interaction from staff and over complicated it all. Absolutely doesn't warrant 50 cents for sometimes a 30 second game. My whole family would play more than 20 games in a row, but no longer. The new swiping system and raised prices took the life and excitement right out of it. So bummed. Will never be back. read more

This is a blast from the past for me. Being from Northeast Ohio, I played this growing up at Cedar Point. I was disappointed when they took it out and haven't played in years. It was nice to see that the price per game is still the same, a quarter. Only thing I didn't like, and other reviewers have stated it is that it's hard to play with regulars. One person on one particular machine won almost every game. I know that's not really the fault of the facility though, I remember the same scenario back when I was growing up. But, it did detract us from wanting to play more than 15 minutes or so worth of games. We felt that we didn't even have a chance. But again, it was nostalgic and fun and a cheap way to spend some time on a rainy day in Seaside. read more

This place is in the middle of Funland Arcade. For 25cents you can play a quick round where you compete with other people and try to light up 5 in a row, or for 75cents, if you come at the right time, you can play the black out version. It's super easy to catch on to this game...you really just roll a bouncy ball up a ramp to land in a hole and it lights up.The objective is to try to light up a row of 5 lights, or black out (depending on the round you're in). Don't let this fool you though..this game can get ridiculously frustrating! Overall, it's entertaining and super cheap to join in on! read more

I've been here twice before in my adult life. Both times before I loved it. It is a great game that is easy to play for adults and children. My 16 and 11 year old had never tried it and my friend with us hadn't, either. We played during the 25 cent/game time (they also do a Blackout version with 2 balls that is 75 cents/game). We each had a roll of quarters and started playing with about a dozen other folks. About halfway through, they started a version where if you won, the player to your immediate right also won. This was great as it netted us some extra tickets. However, towards the end we noticed the same table (#17) kept winning repeatedly. There is a certain amount of skill involved and regular players or locals are going to be better at it than first timers. However, after the 5th game in a row that was won by the same player, the rest of the gallery was starting to get a little irked. My kids were getting discouraged because they weren't even getting close to winning before the game was over and started up again and over quickly. Overall, the game is fun. However, there is no way for the people running it to keep the pros from running away with the wins and ending games after 40 seconds over and over. When one person wins 7 out of 10 games in less than 45 seconds, there needs to be some type of rule in place to protect the other 39 potential players from getting jipped. How would we know it wasn't an employee with a couple friends? Outside of that, we had a blast. And we did get in a few wins thanks to the "person to your right wins, too" version they ran for 10 minutes at one point. We will definitely go back, but if someone goes on that type of winning streak again, we'll leave. read more

Fascination is always a must stop on our trip to Seaside when we are at the Oregon Coast. This fun and innocent game is an entertaining challenge for you, your family or your friends. A typical game is about rolling the rubber ball into the possible holes to light up 5 in a row any direction before anyone else. Every so often they also offer a round of "black out" where the object is to be the first to light up all of the spaces by rolling your ball into each space on the board. For our group, it is usually about who is going to be the first to win a coveted ticket to redeem for a prize? My wife and I enjoy the fun of trying to see who can be the first to win a ticket. Usually, we endure many rounds of losing to grade school and middle school kids before one of us achieves bragging rights for the remainder of our trip. I know - this is totally geeky - but we once decided to drive all the way from Vancouver to Seaside just to play this game. It's so much fun. We particularly like the blackout games more than the 5-in-a-row games. Over a few trips we won enough tickets to buy our friend a Lava Lamp for her birthday. The people who work there are great too - they are energetic even though they are just saying the same thing over and over and over - they bring your tickets to you - they collect your money at the table.
