I purchased my wedding dress from Brickhouse Bridal in the Woodlands. I lived and worked in Pasadena last year so I wanted to find a great tailor who would make the alterations that I needed close to my home and workplace. I found Miss Mary through a coworker who had nothing but great things to say about her. When I met Miss Mary she was sweet and so helpful to suggesting how to have my dress taken in. My dress had a really long train with a lace trim. She was able to hem it and then when I discovered petticoats she was able to take out the hem without a problem. I changed my mind a lot and she was so kind and patient with my ideas! I discovered Mary on yelp while searching for a seamstress who could take on a special project. My boyfriend had a vintage blazer with lots of potential, but it needed some love. Mary is wonderful! I have a Ralph Lauren maxi skirt I have worn so much it was literally falling apart, but I could not find another one like it anywhere so I kept wearing it. I took my old skirt to Mary and she said it would be no trouble to copy. She was so professional and helpful! She told me how much fabric to get, where to go to get it and who to speak to. She quoted a reasonable price for the work and when I came back with the fabric she made the perfect skirt - with no pattern! I love Mary! She is so energetic and personable. When I went for my first fitting, she was very helpful (since I had no idea what all needed to be done), and she was also very open to my own (and my MOH's) suggestions. She completely altered the gown in less than a week (and I had lots of things taken in, taken up, hemmed, etc AND my dress was full lace). Her prices are incredibly reasonable, too! When I found a veil and fascinator I loved, Mary even sewed them together for me (at no charge!). I would definitely recommend Mary to anyone who needs any alterations done. She even will sew a dress (with a pattern or not) custom to fit your body type. She is absolutely wonderful! read more

Don't do it ! Don't trust Mary because you will regret it ! I will start with saying this was the worst experience I've ever had if I could've posted this by giving a zero I would have. I went to Mary to have pants altered to several pant suits for my daughter's wedding. Mary was very nice and marked up each pair called in about a week to let me know they were ready. I came back in and none of them fit as they were still too large and all of them were about 2 inches still too long. Her only remarks were have you shrunk. Being as I had drove an hour on each trip this was a little frustrating. She said this never happened to her before so let me try to fix them then she tried to get more money out of me and at this point I'm getting very frustrated. She also had tried to fix two pair of pants that had double lining and had pulled the inseam all the way up and these two pair of pants she said she didn't have the right machine to fix them when I asked her what happened to them. These two pair of pants I took to another place and they cannot be fixed. At this point she called me about a week later and let me know that she had the pants that I left with her corrected. When I got to her shop she tried to have me just go ahead and leave with the pants and I said no I want to try them on. To my disbelief the pants were in worse shape than they were when she tried the first time. This time I had pants that were too short and we're still not correct. One of the pantsuit had one leg that was one size and the second leg that was an inch smaller. One pair had been taken down to small the other pair had almost light balloons on each side where she didn't start at the top of the inseam she started midway down the pants leg. At this point I was so angry with her there were no words that I could say to her on that moment without being very ugly. She asked me if everything was all right and I said no and I know you know it's not because you can see some of these things without even trying them on. I left and took them to another shop where they are telling me that they are not sure they can even correct all the mistakes that she has made. I called her and said that I really feel that at this point you owe me the money back and all she kept saying was we will need to come back and try them on for me to see that. No you owe me for six three hundred dollar suits. When I said that to her she said yes I realize they are $300 suits because I looked them up online. At this point she will not return my calls she has not return my money and I am truly contemplating whether or not I would like to file a civil suit against her. She admitted that she used to have a different seamstress that actually did all the work now she's trying to do it and doesn't know what she's doing. She may know how to pen it but she don't know how to sew it. Don't take anything to this woman she will ruin your clothes and not care. This was for my daughter's wedding and she knew it. All I can say is this is shameful and very unprofessional. If you cannot stand behind your work then you shouldn't be in this business! read more
