I decided once again after about six months to see if fast Eddie has got there crap together, so I went in for breakfast today although the service was incredibly fast, there wasn't anybody in there that I recognize except for the owners there was only about 10 customers this used to be their busiest day it probably still is but the place was empty. I ordered the breakfast special it was $16. They brought me a chili and cheese omelette. It was very small. The amount of potatoes wasn't enough to even mention and it only came with one piece of toast. The chili they used was canned... The person I went with ordered the fish and french fries they overcook the fish severely... I guess it'll be another six months to a year before I go back and try again... they're trying to stay open by raising their prices. Looking forward to new owners taking over fast eddies. Hopefully the original owner will take it back over but you never know I'm quite confident that the people that currently own it. Won't be able to keep it open much longer. They are horrible to their employees. I've watched them yell at them in front of the customers and they treat their staff like crap. read more

Morning breakfast fuel. Went to Fast Eddie's Diner for some eggs Benedict with hash browns and a side of sausage. Cute place especially if you like looking at pics of classic cars. The food is decent too. No over the top portions and it's delicious and not too pricey. They have a lot of specials too. The eggs on my Benedict were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was so yummy. They put cheese on top of their hash browns! I've been here before, and it's usually always been good. Today, when I walked into the restaurant, I was immediately hit with a smell, which was a cleaning solvent of some kind. It might have even been fabuloso. Whatever it was, it was very off-putting. I also noticed that since I was last here, the prices have increased quite a bit. Our meals today were 9kay, but nothing special. I think nearly 18.00 for the chicken fried steak skillet was ridiculous. I ordered a biscuit along with my bacon and eggs, It was very dense, not like a soft and flaky biscuit that you normally would have. Outside of my bacon being greasy, overall, it was ok. Posting what I had originally posted to Google Like others have said new owners at this place has ruined it uses to be great but now they upped the prices, they only give 1 pancake or piece of toast instead of 2, they changed a ton of the food it isn't made the same way. We waited 10 minutes to be seated and then another 30-40 to get our food and mind you we all got breakfast food so it doesn't take long to make eggs and pancakes and it wasn't busy. My food was done incorrectly and had to send it back. They did give me one free drink but the price increases on everything were more than the 3 dollars they took off. Probably passed this place hundreds of times, but while searching for diners, this seemed to be a better alternative to Denny's. Both of the side dishes were homemade with the potato salad being nice and cold and having that good relish taste. Cole Slaw also got good reviews. Although not the greatest turkey club ever, this was a decent rendition with good sourdough bread and above average quality Turkey. The Philly cheesesteak was ordered without cheese which was weird, but the rib eye was lean and flavorful. Place is the best diner locally for miles. Hidden gem. 10 out of 10. People come to Deer Valley from as far away as Tempe and flock to eat here. Parking felt safe and the surroundings are mostly decent looking. Definitely not divey. Always packed with folks, but there was plenty of places to sit. Casual. Zero wait time. Breakfast special between 6am-10am is my go to for breakfast at least once a week. 10 bucks and you will be able to easily skip lunch by being so full with super filling food. I bring my friends from work so they can be blown away by the quality and portion size for the prices. There is a bottomless biscuits and gravy if that is your thing. They offer two different types of gravy. Try the 1/2lb hamburger for 10 bucks if you miss the breakfast special hours. Comes with a big fat pile of fries that are 'extra crispy' for free (someone needs to take a picture of those crispy fries and post them) because ppl just come for fries (don't get the crinkle fries tho), and you can pay one little dollar for a huge big super tasty salad when you get the burger. It is the size of a full salad. Big! You can share that salad with your guest if you bring one, and that is a meal in itself. Seriously. The coffee is bottomless for $2.50 and is jacked with caffeine. Two of those are you are movin and a groovin for hours. The drinks are a little pricey, but you can get an ice water if that is a problem. Heck I can pull off this place for less than 20 bucks including tip and it feeds my BF and me at the same time. It feels like 1995 prices here. Really easily to do if you really read the menu. Have you seen the prices at Mickey D's lately? This is the same prices as them, but you are going to get real food. Neat thing is it's very quiet inside. It's not like most 50s diners where they are blasting 50s music (i.e. Johnny Rockets). I didn't see lots and lots of little kids like the JR down the street. That place has turned into something more like chucky cheese than a 50s diner. No thanks. At Fast Eddie's crowd was mostly older folks who know where the best deal in town is located. If I was high and had the munches this would be the numbero uno place to be broseph. Heavenly. LOL. They have half size menu for even less money if you are broke, on a diet, or just really tiny. Disney mickey pancakes too for kids for kids prices. Ice cream was included for free with my burger too. Free ice cream. I don't know which items it comes with but just ask your waitress what is the best deal for what you want. She was zuper cool too. Didn't feel rushed. Didn't wait to be seated. Didn't have a single problem with the order. And brought the check before I had to ask for one, which is nice. And this isn't a greasy hamburger joint at a stripmall. And another thing you will like is this place is very very clean. Well lit up inside. They even have like a little gift shop in the front. Reminds me of the past when restaurants like this existed everywhere. Now they are a rare find and relegated to distant memory. If you really can't decide on where to eat just go here. You won't be unhappy. You might be late if you come after 2pm because that is sadly the time they close up for the entire day. There is no evenings at this place. That is perhaps the only drawback if you start to love the place like I do guys. Epic food. Doable prices. Gets you real stuffed. If you desire a more 50s diner go to the other Fast Eddies for real old school architecture. I'm more about the food and this is close to where I live. And it's better everyday than anything else locally for me. Just try the 6oz steak and eggs for something really special. Bottomless fish and chips is intensely delicious on Fridays for a 11 bucks. Call ahead if you're really worried about seating or wait times. Oh yeah, this is a dry restaurant if you're looking for someplace that serves beer or wine, so keep that in mind if any of your guests need something like that, or they're in a mood for booze. That could be the only real deal breaker about this joint. There is a 7-11 next door though, like walking distance to pick up something after your done there. There was another review that was totally freaking out about the lack of masks... etc etc. This place does have takeout and you are totally welcome to order over the phone and then simply walk in really quick with a mask on and get your food to take to your work or your home if that is your biggest concern right now. Everyone working there was wearing something though. They are taking steps to make sure the place is safe, and disinfected. There was a smell of the disinfectant too. Customers are conservative because that is the neighborhood and has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. Some reviewers are kinda nutty so don't listen to that hot air. Oh man, this place used to be our favorite. The owners sold it to a new owner recently, Jason no longer is here, and the new staff is just not great. Went for a second time since the new people have taken over and it was not good... Took awhile to get seated, the lady taking our order was SO STRESSFUL. Seemed like she was super stressed out and rushed us the whole time we were ordering - cutting us off, just not good customer service. On top of that, we had hair wrapped around the sausage link, there was weird stuff on my kids pancake. They took care of it, but it was just not a good experience. So sad to see the new owners running this place into the ground. We had been coming here for years. After the previous owner sold it, we came here several times and have slowly watched it change. Decreased staff and customers, but the menu and food stayed the same, so we returned. Today we went there and the place was practically empty at a time we use to have to wait for a seat. They changed the menu, removing items we liked and worse, SIGNIFICANTLY raising the prices. Not just a few dollars which is completely understandable these days, but nearly doubling the price in some cases. We walked out. I tried to pull up the old menus on Yelp and Google, but the photos have been removed, probably by the new owners because they do not want people to realize how much the raised prices. Sadly, I don't think Fast Eddie's will be around next year. Classic drive a good business into the ground. read more
