First time guest since I've seen it many times traveling on the construction zone formerly known as I-35. Fun space with good ambiance. The indoor area will probably fill quickly with ATX summer weather but good outdoor space on an upper and apparently lower deck in the shade in the late afternoon/evening. Food is ordered at the table but not worth the cost tbh (had the queso with guacamole and hamburger meat and it was definitely subpar for $20 with auto-request tip of 25% that had to be manually reduced). Saison beer was good, not outstanding. Pretty middle of the pack if you're looking for good brews, but a nice hang with its own parking lot for anyone south of the river. Looking for a brewery with great beers and delicious food? This is the place! The staff is extremely kind and welcoming. They allowed me to taste before committing to something I'd hate. I really appreciated that! The inside is large with wooden bench tables and some taller tables. Outside on the patio is nice and they are currently working on the outdoors area for the summer weather. We got pizza, wings and pretzel bites and I would 10/10 order them all again. Tried them because of the Barks for Beers promotion this month and was not disappointed. I got the Shandy and it was a beautiful thing on this 100° day. Husband tried a few beers and we enjoyed the Bianca pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the ricotta was seasoned well. I also tried the kids prosciutto and mozzarella which I liked and wish they had a grown up version with some seasoning. (I'm allergic to the Brie on adult prosciutto sandwich) The kiddo enjoyed the Maine Root soda and loved the pizza. Our server was friendly and really helpful. We well definitely be back. read more

I don't know why no one ever talks about this place! This is a fun chill spot with delicious food and refreshing beer. I got the Bianca pizza and it was totally to die for!!! It was crispy, the cheese was gooey and hot honey was heavenly on top of the ricotta. We also enjoyed the crispy pretzel bites and saucy wings which were both divine. You chose your own table, scan the QR code and they bring the food to you. There's plenty of seating inside and outside with card games to play by the front door. Food is delicious if you love pizza and my boyfriend is always looking for a good pizza place best part it's handmade with real toppings that you can't get enough of! I'm constantly on a quest to find delicious pizza. The closer to home, the better. The tl;dr: come here for good pizza in a cool space & to experience a lot of things people get (unreasonably, imo) mad about in Austin (like city prices for food.) Visited on a Friday night. It was moderately busy inside, with a few groups playing board games or watching sports (they have a few big TVs.) There were also some people sitting outside, even in this heat -- mostly people with dogs. We ordered beer and it was fine. I appreciate that they have a lot of non-IPA beers and a collab w/ Hold Out (a known quantity!) I thought the Italian style pils I got was still a little too hoppy (a little more bitter than I was expecting for a dry hopped style) but it was a good pairing for the food. I also tried the shandy, which was super refreshing and not too lemonade-y. I'm no beer expert, but when in Rome. For food, we got the sichuan pretzel bites. The pretzel itself was good, but the spices were mostly just spicy. We also got the brussels sprouts. I liked that they weren't super oily, but my husband thought they could have been better trimmed (the little end pieces were pretty tough.) We got the hawaiian pizza as well -- definitely over-ordered for 2. I was expecting the pizzas to be much smaller given the level of complaining in other reviews; we ate less than half and were both very full. I thought the pizza was good! I would go back to try other flavor combinations -- many others sounded tasty. Service was really friendly and attentive, but not hover-y, even close to the time of their kitchen closing. I'm rooting for Fast Friends, and super curious if it'll get more popular. Came here for the first time after seeing the mural and anticipating the wait for it to open. It's a little confusing if you're dropped at the back entrance but basically you just go up the steep stairs to order beer. Ordering was a bit weird. QR code for food but line up for drinks. They're still working on their beer menu and expanding it. I enjoyed the names and especially the Billy Cannon beer. It was just so extremely expensive compared to other local breweries. The food was subpar and super expensive as well. We ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza but it was so soggy and floppy from the oil. Likewise the jalapeño sauce they had drizzled on top didn't really add anything taste wise. A ranch was $1 and it was half filled... A kale wrap was like $12 and additional amount of money if you wanted to add chicken. For food I have to pick up myself and get my plates I sure hope they're paying their employees well cause I'm not tipping 20% with a scenic view of I35 and construction. The ordering system online automatically adds a 20% tip post taxes but you can change it. Too bad I didn't notice it till it was too late. I feel like there so many better breweries with much more affordable prices. This place seemed like a cash grab. read more

I took a weekend trip up to Austin and stopped for a beer on my way out of town. Its kind of a hybrid between coffee shop and brewery set in a warehouse. The place is super clean, spotless. They have coffee drinks and patries available. I was there for the beer but since I was early I had to buy food with my beer so I got a choco croissant. The beer was really good and I enjoyed it. We decided to pop in here on a Sunday. I pass this location everyday on my commute from Kyle to Austin for work. Dad to say there weren't many people in this place. The hubby and our friends really enjoyed the beer! They were impressed with several varieties they were able to sample and landed on an IPA- Sup Y'all and a Czech Luker. They are in the process of revamping some of their menu offerings and we sampled several. The artichoke hearts, pub fries and pretzel bites were great starters. Highly recommend they add a cheese dip with the pretzels- especially for those of us not fond of mustard. The nice to meat you pizza and the shroom pizza were a hit as well. Highly recommend the street corn and avocado salad as well. The place is comfortable. The decor is higher end and the layout provides for many opportunities for conversation or just vibing with the view. Would love to see some live music in the beer garden. Their playscape looks like it will be a great place for kids and family opportunities. Hoping the construction that seems to be interfering with their business ends sooner rather than later! This one is going to be a destination spot, eventually housing an amphitheater and hotel. But no need to look that far into the future when what we have now is already good! This two story brewery and pizza haven is card only and is chock full of smiling staff who are happy to make recommendations. It is smartly furnished and surprisingly warm considering the modern aesthetic. There is a nice sized patio upstairs that overlooks the trees, and there is a downstairs patio with yard games and what will soon be the second tasting room/event space/game room/place to watch the game. The on-site kitchen is run by a vegan chef, but meat eaters will also delight in the fare. They need work on the menu as it is confusing and you cannot modify pies other than to make them vegan. The hot honey is vegan and delicious! Just the right heat and sweet. Portions are huge, so agree on one pie in advance- no spits yet. This is a place to come hang with friends, meet new ones (seating encourages getting to know your neighbor), or just have a wet lunch while completing paperwork. Loved being able to try this spot during the soft opening. All the beer and food was 50% off - yay! I'm generally not a big beer person, especially not IPA, but I really like it as well as some of the others. We tried the pizza and pretzel bites as well. Love that they offer vegan and non dairy pizza. The vegan cheese was SO delicious. Pretzel bites were good, but most of my pals would have loved beer cheese with them instead of just mustard. 09/28/25 We decided to try Fast Friends Beer, as we have been coming up to Austin to visit our Son and his family. We ordered the Shroom- me Pizza, fried Artichoke hearts, roasted Brussel sprouts, and the street corn salad. The Pizza is great one of the best I eaten, and the same for the street corn salad, and the roasted Brussel sprouts, and the Artichoke Hearts. The street corn salad had breaded tofu that was great, Service was excellent, and the wait was minimal. The big plus is the children's play ground so that the little one could play till the food came. Construction is a bit of a hassle, but I can't say enough for how nice Fast Friends Beer establishment is. They have both inside and outside seating. The price was great as we fed 5 for $75.00 dollars. The beer was extra, and it was good. We will come back to enjoy the pizza's again in the future. Wow finally something fun down in South Austin! This new brewery is destined to be a neighborhood staple. With plans to expand to breakfast and coffee and space for events, I predict fast friends will be a go-to destination for years to come. The staff is friendly and super passionate about what they do, and it shows. Everything about fast friends is intentional and well-executed. The space is beautiful, with fun branding, high ceilings, big windows, indoor and outdoor seating, and acoustic panels so it isn't deafeningly loud inside. You can park on the street behind the brewery (where Google maps will take you), or in the flat surface lot on the north side of the building - recommended if you don't want to/aren't able to climb stairs. Once inside, you start a tab and order beers at the counter. You can either order food there or at your table through the QR code (this way they bring it to you, at the bar you go pick it up). Something important to note about the food menu is Culinary Director Emily Rayburn's dedication to making all dietary preferences and restrictions accessible at no additional cost. Everything on the menu can be made vegan/dairy free/gluten free without upcharge. The pizzas are outstanding - and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference when you swap out for vegan. The pizzas have a perfectly chewy thin crust, with big NY style slices. (Seriously, they're big). I have enjoyed every single thing I've eaten at fast friends (do NOT miss the Bianca!!!) and all the beers are great as well. We have been so excited to come here and we're so excited they finally opened! While the on tap selections were not very big, they told us they would be adding more soon. I found a drink I really enjoyed with the selection they had so I have no complaints there. We ordered the schezuan pretzel bites & while I love the concept, the ginger mustard was so intense and quite literally cleared my sinuses and made my eyes water! I think they would be great with another sauce or just make the one they have a little less spicy! The pizza was great and can be made vegan or gf which is always a plus and it is definitely large enough to feed 2-3 people. There is a ton of seating inside, on the deck and downstairs. The ambiance of the place is very cool, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Although I would highly recommend going outdoors if the weather is nice because the view is superb. The roasted carrots on a cloud of whipped goats cheese was so amazing, we ordered it each time we visited! The actual building and concept is very and I wanted to love it. We went with friends to watch a baseball game. We noticed basically every song was bad bunny and it was getting old. We asked if they could change the music to something else since this is a more brewery type environment. They seemed a little annoyed and told us the "owner controls the channel and we don't know where he is on the property." It just seemed like they didn't prioritize the customer experience/feedback and sadly our whole group left with a sour taste in our mouths and not really wanting to go back. There are so many nice/cool breweries in Austin now so the way staff treat customers makes a huge difference. If it was clearly evident that the customer experience was a high priority here, we would consider going back. read more

This place felt like a Disney flop. Kids kids kids and vaping. They have a great site, but under utilized. Their drone on website shows all overhead doors open and great vibe. Not. Asked them, when do they open the overhead doors? (bcuz super weather) .... They said when it's too hot inside. Really ???? Beer is super typical - the wait staff told me the craft Belgian is just like a Blue Moon. Seriously? They totally expect clientele to have no beer pallet at all. This is a great playground, I mean brewpub if you have kids and don't mind paying craft prices for mediocre beer, and you don't want to drive into Austin to a better brewery. Emphasis on was good, And the vibe is OK. after going back to the restaurant, A month later, the food is absolutely garbage. However, The beer is still good. For some reason who knows why, everybody likes to bring their children to a bar the children scream, knock things over, go into the distillery area and just blatantly cause a ruckus. This feels like a bar for elder millennial dads, from the family-friendly environment to the playlist heavy on Vampire Weekend and Peter, Björn and John. On opening weekend, there were 7 beers on tap, and I wonder how that will change over time. Didn't order any food but it's hard to go wrong with pizzas, especially if you're a 35 year old dad trying to get something your kid will eat. The pizzas are a bit expensive and some seemed frou-frou (how would "honey dew mist" meaningfully affect a pizza) but again, pizza is pizza, and most people seemed to order their own pizza, in case you were debating whether to split one. read more
