I had my passenger side mirror taking off today on my route at work. After a referral from my mechanic, I found myself at fast glass speaking with the owner about a possible replacement. He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and a master of his craft. He cut the glass right in front of me fixing my mirror within five minutes and I was out the door $20 later. I needed to get the glass replaced on a 16 by 20 inch frame AND needed it done quickly as I was towing along my 15 month old. The owner was so sweet! When i contacted Fast Glass, they quoted me $75 full service (install everything at my house) or $28 if i come in and bring the frame. of course I brought the frame to them and had a great experience. I didn't need to have the edges beveled so the price went down to a reasonable level (for me). I had called a half hour before closing on a Saturday and said I would be right down to pick them up--would it be okay? He said, "no problem." When I got there in 10 or so minutes, the shelves were ready and exactly the size I ordered. He even helped me put them in my small car. They do MORE than windows! I need a fish tank separator for my 75 gallon tank. I have a turtle in the tank, and I want to make a water and a separate land area for her so she can bask in a nice dirt/sand area, but I'm going to need a custom piece of glass cut to fit the job. After I called Fast Glass and got voice mail, I was expecting to have to call them back the next day. But that was not the case. About 30 seconds later, Lauren, the owner, called me back. I told Lauren my dilemma, and he was fantastic. He told me that they don't usually go in to the office on Monday's because they are busy doing emergency work in the field, but he was close by and would meet me at the office. I showed Lauren a picture of the tank and the measurement, and he helped me figure out the size I needed. He showed me two different glass thicknesses to chose from. I chose the thicker since it will be holding back water and dirt. He easily scored the glass, snapped off the needed piece, and finished the edges so it wouldn't be sharp. A whole $3 bucks later, I had my thick, custom-cut glass piece in hand. I was astonished. He obviously didn't do it for the money, but because he wanted to help. After bring the piece of glass home, I measured it in the tank, and it's a perfect fit. Absolutely perfect. I find myself hoping I'll need more glass in the future just to be able to use his services again. read more
