My stupid cat had broken a window trying to go through it head first to get an outdoor cat. I called Fast Glass. They asked if the frame was wooden or metal, the approximate size of the window, and quoted me a very reasonable price. They said they'd be here in about an hour and they were here in about 40 minutes. It took them five minutes to remove the window and ten to fix it. The price quoted was 90¢ less than the actual price. They were super friendly and petted the cat and gave me a price on some other work. They were great. HOWEVER--It's a father and son company and they do not service cities outside of Long Beach and maybe Signal Hill. So if you're in LA or OC, look elsewhere. read more

I needed two pieces of glass for the top of my aquarium. I called a few glass shops and was quoted high prices for two pieces of glass that were just going to be laid on the top of my tank to block evaporation. Fast glass quoted me $20.00 total for both pieces. That was was a very fair price, I gave the measurements I needed. When I arrived at their shop about 20 minutes later my glass was cut and waiting. My husband and I ordered a piece of glass for our dining room table and were amazed when it was made and delivered to our house in one day. First, they came out and measured our table and then within a couple of hours the completed glass table top was delivered to our house. It looked beautiful and fit perfectly. I was so pleased with their work that I decided to order a custom made knife cabinet for my husband for Christmas since he collects knives. Fast Glass bailed me out! Wednesday Dec. 3rd Fast Glass came to my home in an emergency situation. My daughter and I were home and we heard a big explosion and we didn't know what it was until my daughter went to our Master bathroom only to find out shower glass had exploded everywhere. I mean everywhere. It freaked me out so I did a Google search for 24 hour glass places in Long Brach,Ca. I chose Fast Glass because their ad seemed very professional and I got the owner Lauren when I called. He was very nice and polite. He told me the price and he would be at my place in 45 minutes or less and he showed up right on time. He cleaned the glass from everywhere and he saved my behind from my wife seeing it! You see I wanted to get it cleaned up before she came home from her meeting and would freak out and Lauren saved the day. I went to Fast Glass because I needed glass shelves for a vintage hutch that I just bought. I couldn't believe how inexpensive the quote was! Everyone I spoke to was nice and helpful as well. They made the shelves for me in 10 or 15 minutes and were even spinning a Junior Parker record while I waited! The shelves fit perfectly and look great. I needed to replace a glass shelf in my medicine cabinet. I took a sample to Lowe's and Home Depot, thinking it was a simple item I could pick up easily. Wrong! The two big chain stores don't carry/cut glass. I called Fast Glass, without realizing they were closed on Mondays, and Loren answered the phone. He said he happened to be in the shop and he would be happy to help. I jammed on over there and faster than you say three bucks, I had a replacement shelf. So I finally bought my dream desk from Pottery Barn. I have saved for awhile and got a great deal, you know how that place is way overpriced! Anywho, I needed a glass top to put on the desktop because there is no way in hell I'm allowing it to get scratched. Trusty yelp saves the day! I found Lauren's business and called him for a quote. He beat the price I had been anticipating (a friend has this desk and had glass cut for $100) so I jumped at the savings. He had it ready for me the next day and helped load it into our car. why can't I give zero stars? this guy did work for me twice- I should have learned the first time. I call him on a picture window job & he showed up DRUNK. When I ordered the picture window glass, I told him my tenant had broken some glass also (their expense). He gave the tenant a $25 cut on the service because he was doing my job also - even though I was the one who suggested he do their job (why didn't I get a break?) Then when he delivered the picture window he wanted to charge $200 extra to install it (installation was included on the estimate). He did notice my old windows needed replacing told me about a great window company but said to not have them put in the glass, he'd do it for less. LIE the window company included the glass at no charge, he was just trying to scalp me. Years later another tenant called him about a window they had broken & he complained about us to our tenants! No Way. NEVER again. Try Ace Hardware on Anaheim for good service, even though you'll need to learn to putty the glass in yourself. read more

I have nothing but praise for Lauren and Fast Glass. To set the issues we faced, we had a house window get broken in the early hours of the Sunday during Labor Day weekend, which meant possibly not getting any service until Tuesday. We also had out of town plans for the following weekend, plans we expected to have to cancel, as we didn't want to leave the house with either a broken window or a boarded up window. We called Fast Glass (after some internet research showed that almost no place had "emergency" services), and not only was the phone picked up right away, but good to his word, Lauren was out that Sunday to board up the window. During that process, we talked to him about possibly doing the actual replacing, and he said he could do it. His estimate was that he could get the replacement order in on Tuesday, and probably have it in our house sometime Thursday. We gave him the go-ahead, but also laid the groundwork for cancelling our out of town plans, just in case. By early afternoon on that Thursday, Lauren had showed up with our new window, and it was installed within an hour. And, without going into specifics, the over all cost of this adventure (boarding on a Sunday, and having a new window within the next three work days) was significantly less expensive than my even roughest guess. And to boot, Lauren was professional, funny, and a pleasure to talk with. With all well again, we went ahead to our out of town trip, with nary a worry about the house. I hope not to have to see him again under these kind of circumstances, but it is comforting to know that if Life Happens again, we know exactly who to call. Absolutely all 5 stars on here are fake, one of the worst people to ever call my phone was some idiot all mighty and proud, when my first call was a hang up from me because the message said were busy right now. I called someone else, he then calls back and bitches me out for not leaving my name, I never got that far, he had my number anyway and said on my voice mail you didnt leave your name man, that's not how we do things around here, I was like huh?? I called them back, he answered and man what a terrible greeting from this dude with attitude, I told him my situation, he said Long Beach, I said no, Compton, he immediately said no, I laughed and hung up, started looking elsewhere. He then calls back to tell me how rude I was to hang up on this poor little man. I said I'm doing it again right now because you said those things, click, right to Yelp, so lesson learned, Fast Glass is a joke and that rude even if an owner needs to go, too bad other companies are kicking your ass in customer service and actual work. read more

I was looking for someone to make a very simple cut on a small sheet of plexiglass I had bought at Home Depot (mistakenly thinking I could cut it with the hand tool I also bought).... after many phone calls to many places who told me they either don't 1) do that kind of thing or 2) would do that thing but they wouldn't cut plexiglass unless it was bought by them. I was working on a project restoring an antique window and needed some replacement glass and new window stops. I found these guys online and stopped in. They measured and cut the glass on the spot and milled custom window stops right then and there. Only took about 15 minutes and we were out the door. The price was also definitely right. Some quoted me too high of a price, and others just wouldn't come out in time (I was calling around from like 4:00-6:00am). I used Fast Glass services a few months ago, and should have left a review then. Service was prompt, fast friendly and and cheap! Today, after having my side rearview mirrow swiped AGAIN, I called to check what time I could come in tomorrow. After hearing I have to work at 9am (they open at 9am), they agreed to meet with me at 8am!!! Talk about going above and beyond!!
