Then I hop and drive away only to find that not only is the problem not fixed but the mechanic that took my car for a ride had slathered brake dust and tire grime all over my steering wheel, door handle and console. Yep, nice. Classy. So they took my money, didn't fix the problem, and gave me a dirty car. The oic below is after wiping down my steering wheel -- was clean when I gave it to them. I took it this time to Quick Lane cause they are basically Ford used cars right next to Atchinson Ford. They know Fords. I was there for 1 hr tops and $79 later with a recommendation to change oil in 5000 miles. Thank you synthetic and thank you Quick Lane for doing right by the customer and putting the right stuff in. Found out they forgot to put the anti rattle brackets on. Then another couple of months, they started porpoise and were very hard to stop. Took it back, and they said I needed new front brakes, and the rear needs a complete rebuild. I had them done 2 months before this. Said they would take $67 off the much higher price than the original price. Come to find out, they never changed the rotors. So off I go somewhere else. I then brought it back my free tire rotation and road hazard warranty. I picked it up, and the dash show tire was under inflated. Filled that one, then took off, and the sensor came on for another tire. Finally, I took it somewhere else to fix my brakes. They never put my wheel lock key.

After weighing all of my options from new rim and/or tire to a reclaimed set, I settled on Tire Stop. I chose Tire Stop for a few reasons. Tire Stop was recommended by a coworker. I politely thanked him, but I have always bought new when caring for my vehicles. After all, my nearly new Honda Fit doesn't even have 15k miles on it. Priced that option at $500 (eegads!). Going to a reclamation center (junk yard) was still going to be ~$300. Really? I finally made my appointment (HIGHLY recommend). How about $53 with tax AND a tire (AND a warranty). I took my car to a tire store and was told my rim and tire were ruined. The guys at Tire Stop showed me the nick in the side wall of my tire and they told me my steel rims are nearly indestructible and a new rim was not needed. The Tire Stop guys will not try to scare you, or bully you or lie to get your money. Small shops as these need our support. Check them out!

The…read moretech pointed out that the oil cooler was leaking and instead of trying to sell me one he pointed out that is common for a POS Chevy Cruise and I should contact GM to get fixed because I had less than fifty thousand miles on it, so I did and GM split the cost with me. Now the Cons: Then the next time I went in there for an oil change the tech said the oil plug was stripped and it needs to be replaced. Then the manager said it must have been the last place that did the oil change and the tech said it was us. The manager said I am not going to take the loss on it and I will have to buy another one from him. Then the MFs did not put an OEM plug on it and I couldn't get off! So I had to pay to get removed and buy another one, the correct one and put it on there. Needless to say, I never went back!
