If I could give a -10 I would. The only positive I can give are my tires. So I went in to get my front brakes done. Decent price. But they started to rattle. Found out they forgot to put the anti rattle brackets on. Then another couple of months, they started porpoise and were very hard to stop. Took it back, and they said I needed new front brakes, and the rear needs a complete rebuild. I had them done 2 months before this. Said they would take $67 off the much higher price than the original price. Come to find out, they never changed the rotors. So off I go somewhere else. I then brought it back my free tire rotation and road hazard warranty. I picked it up, and the dash show tire was under inflated. Filled that one, then took off, and the sensor came on for another tire. Finally, I took it somewhere else to fix my brakes. They never put my wheel lock key. read more

I had an appointment for a car inspection at 10am, and was told it should take no more than 2 hours. It took over 6 hours. Additionally- i was quoted over $2.5k for repairs. I went somewhere else for a second opinion and it was 70% cheaper. They tried to get me to replace my front break system when they were only slightly rusted. Have used this location for last 5-years. Before I list grievances, must say Dave is great, very professional and customer centric. The other's I have encountered, not so much. Starting to question quality of parts used at this location. Had front struts replaced in 2024, 3 months later, getting passenger side rattle. Identified as bad strut, full replacement free of charge. Ok, 6 months later, rattle from front driver side. You guessed it, diagnosed as bad strut again. After getting this diagnosis, when I advised this will be 2nd strut issue since serviced there in past year, got the ole, well wait a min, I know what I told you, but we do not think it's the struts now, will call you back after our best tech takes another look. Hmmmmm sounds fishy. Between my strut fiasco, which is still going on, got brake job and oil change on wife's car, left old oil filter on, and 4 months later Rotars are warpped........ But I only went to them under the understanding after talking with manager on phone to save money due to bell tire wanting to charge me 12000 to fix my car but when they tallied up all the things wrong with my car i would've been spending way less money if I had just stuck with bell tire who we ALL know is ridiculously overpriced. I bought tires online at Tire Rack and had them shipped here for installation. The appointment scheduling was super simple, and the install went great. While there, I had a conversation with the manager, Brad, about some serious engine sluggishness which the Cadillac dealer couldn't diagnose over several visits. He mentioned one of his mechanics, Eric, who had many years of experience with GM and Ford vehicles could give me a second opinion at a low cost. Eric took it for a drive and quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem, and the next day performed a tuneup and a few other things. My 2010 Cadillac SRX is now running like new, and I am very grateful. If you're like me, you don't generally think of Firestone Service Centers much beyond doing tire work, but don't hesitate to take your vehicle to this one for other services. read more

After going to this location for a couple of years now, this location has to be the worst Firestone. It takes a minimum of 90 minutes to get an oil change, even with an appointment. I drive a lot of miles, and every time I've gone here for an oil change, the price keeps going up. Last time, I was charged $23 extra for an oil change, because they told me they didn't have my oil filter in stock. $61 for an oil change is a crock of shit, and I didn't have the extra charge any other time I was there. My wife's older car was having problems with the engine. I had the engine codes and knew exactly what was wrong with it, but I was unable to fix it myself. They told me I had to pay $90 for an engine diagnostic test, which pretty much meant plugging in the little box to see why the engine light was on. They told me they couldn't make the repairs I requested unless they ran the test to see if there were other problems, and the test only showed exactly what I told them before (exactly what Auto Zone and Advanced Auto told me for free). I ended up getting the repairs done (a bill of $400), because the car needed fixed as soon as possible. I was promptly unsuccessful in trying to get reimbursed for the 45-second engine diagnostic test. When I got my last oil change, I wanted them to check why my antifreeze was leaking, and it was $30 for them to do a coolant system check. The only thing I saw wrong was that the reservoir was leaking, but I wanted to know if anything else was wrong before I spent $60 on a new reservoir. After waiting forever for them to run the test, they came out and told me my car needed almost $1500 in repairs, basically telling me I needed to repair the whole damn system. They were very pressuring that I do it, telling me they needed to order the parts right away and that I could get an increase on my Firestone credit card. Who the hell shells out that kind of money on repairs without getting a second opinion? I immediately took my car to another automotive shop for a free inspection. They told me the Firestone estimate was beyond laughable... telling me there was nothing wrong with anything else but the reservoir. I had them replace my reservoir, and I haven't lost a drop of antifreeze since then. If that's the kind of shit service I'm going to get from this Firestone, I'm gladly going to take my business elsewhere for anything I need in the future. I will not go there for estimates or inspections. I will not go there for oil changes. I will not go there for tires. I will certainly not go there to expect any quick and honest service. It is really tough to make an appointment for your vehicle. Tougher than it needs to be. The good news, the work is under warranty and there are other locations. Nine minutes on the phone and a ton of excuses still without a confirmed appointment. Another location, the task is accomplished in a 1/3 of the time and you feel as you are truly a valued customer. Closer proximity is more convenient, but service with a smile speaks volumes. Not the first time for this type of "service", but hopefully the upfront customer service will markedly improve. read more

This store may be O.K. for tires but I would avoid the place for brakes or any other mechanical work that can be jacked way out of sight, especially if you're female. Like many shops, the individual mechanic has too much sway over diagnosis, work sheets, and pricing. This needs to change. Non-mechanic managers should oversee all mechanical work. We did business over a period of five years (for two cars) with this Firestone. It was all tire related. One day, my wife had them inspect her brakes. They were working. I figured it was time for routine servicing (in the $100 per set of wheels tops ball park). The "mechanic" told her a list of stuff coming to $400 for just the front brakes. She said O.K. since she trusted this Firestone. Fortunately, the man decided to really rip her off. He called and in a "your kin just died" tone "informed" her that the right brake is worse than he thought so it will be $500! She said 'for both brakes'? He replied: No, for the "right side" She said she would call him back & called me. I called him & ordered him to put the car back together exactly as it was and reminded him the brakes were working fine and I expect them to work when I & my wife pick up the car, (I'm a big guy & sound like it over the phone) We took the car to a friend. He serviced all four brakes for $90. The drums and calipers were fine. Fortunately, I was trained many years ago at a top auto mechanics school & know enough about it to know a rip-off when its coming. I quit the business after a year because I could not find a garage where I did not quickly discover they were thieves. They wanted me to do things like spray carb cleaner over carbs and tell women we had to replace it when I went out on startup problem calls (In those days, they were often just flooded and letting them sit an hour was all that was needed. In those cases, a simple tune up was needed so the lady didn't overdo pumping the gas pedal). I strongly recommend that all women take a general auto service course or get a automobile video program & study a owner's service manual for you car (can buy an auto parts store) It will be harder to rip you off. Do not assume as many do that going to the dealership protects you. The results are uneven. Some Dealerships like Sesi of Ypsilanti have given years of high quality, honest service. Others like Qeuter Chrysler --watch out! Do not relax with any shop. Always remain cautious. Things change, new owner, new mechanics, a mechanic's child begins college or he gets married and buys too much house. The difference between a dealership mechanic and a garage rip-off is the dealership mechanic actually replaces the parts he claims were bad. He does have some supervision from the service manager. Michigan politicos have people thinking they did something by requiring licenses. Not so. What would clean up this business is require garages to pay mechanics by the hour or salary. Using percentage of the job, based on Blue Book inflated time estimates invites dishonesty. Meanwhile, beware of any tire shop that claims your regularly serviced brakes (once a year to 1 1/2 years) require $400 just for the front, when your brakes did work when you pulled in. I know most guys do not know that much about car mechanics but it helps if you can take a big guy with you and ask him to present your car for servicing. Most mechanics (actually, most are just parts changers) are average to small sized as a big guy cannot get around today's small cars very well. They know most guys do not know much mechanics but do they want to risk an angry big guy who turns out to know something? Its a psychological thing Final note: S.E. Michigan has been a real hornet's nest for home and auto services. Skilled people look at the fat pay and cadillac benefits of UAW (Auto workers) workers (many can barely read. Don't go here. Made an appointment at 7am to get my brakes done which is a NEED. They were aware that I had to work at 2pm and told me it would be done by 12. Called at 10:30 because I had no update on my car. A guy named jason told me they had just pulled my car in. At 1 I called again because again no update. A different guy told me that they had to pull it in and pull it back out because other cars weren't done yet. I had my dad call because I know car places take advantage of young females. My dad told me that the manager said my car was never pulled in and they were going to get it in as we speak at 1:30. So now I have to take an uber to and from work. And pick my car up the next morning since I have to work and they'll be closed by the time i get off. This is ridiculous and they lied to me. Had a slow leak in my tire that meant I needed to pay a visit to a tire place on a Sunday, which may have contributed to my disappointment, as Firestone was the only local repair shop open. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, I finally spoke with someone who I'll describe as gruff. As I'd mentioned, I only needed a tire repair and not a replacement, which at Belle Tire and Discount Tire is normally done free of charge (as I'd mentioned, it just so happens that neither was open). The guy informs me that 1. I'll have to continue to wait awhile as they were "slammed", and 2. This will NOT be cheap to do. Dangerous "expert" advise. I was given poor information on tire recommendations from the salesman. I bought my tires from Tirerack.com and had them shipped to this location for install. The salesperson told me they wouldn't be any better in winter conditions than my tires that were previously on my vehicle (Toyo Open Country). The salesman wasn't even trying to sell me on a different model, he seemed to be petty that I hadn't bought from them. Horrible information because the fairly new Toyo Open Countrys I replaced were very dangerous on ice and light snow, and I had already been in a fender bender in moderate winter conditions because I could not stop. The Michelin tires I got from Tirerack.com work amazing in ice and light snow. If I had gone to this location and taken their "expert" advice, I would have been driving on dangerous tires right now. Beware of Firestone. Got my 30,000 mile maintenance done on my car at the dealer, and come to find out that the "nail" in my tire that Firestone (in Canton, MI) said couldn't be safely repaired requiring me to purchase a new tire (which I didn't), did not exist. The dealer submerged my tires in water and found no leaks, then topped off the tires and my low pressure light went off, which also tells me the additional money I paid Firestone to fill and rotate my tires when I got an oil change was not done because the light was still on. Who knows if my oil even got changed. I am a female, and not completely illiterate in the language of cars so I was suspicious. They even said this in front of my father who drove me to pick the car up. What a scam. It's a wonder people can sleep at night. read more

I had a horrible experience with this location and would not recommend or ever go back. I went on a Sunday for a tire repair and the charge was outrageous. When I questioned why it would cost almost as much as a new tire to repair they told me it was because my MKX had a tire pressure sensor in the valve that had to be replaced because they couldn't be reused. They made the mistake of putting this on the receipt. Later I talked to someone knowledgable about my vehicle and they informed me that my vehicle didn't have the the valve sensor but a belt around the rim that wouldn't have to be replaced. They also didn't give me back the puzzle lock for my tire. When I went back and talked to the manager he removed the charge for the valve sensor and told me to get a new puzzle lock which I had to order and he would reimburse me. He did do that. He also gave me a coupon for a free oil change. When I was due for my next oil change I stopped in and gave them the car and went next door and had lunch. When I came back it was the hi-pressure you need wipers, this that and everything else. They were irritated that I was just taking the oil change and not any of the high priced add ons. Well, when I got back to my office I noticed that I was missing a center cap. I've never lost one before and I'm convinced they took it. Of course there is no way to prove that and they said I could have hit a pot hole or curb. That is not the case as I would have known if that had happened. Sorry for the lengthy review ahead of time. Even though I saw bad reviews here on Yelp (why are the majority of the bad reviews all tire related?). I checked them out as Firestone's website says they service car ACs and I was at my wits end. I brought my car to two other shops for my AC (One didn't even inspect my AC and just said it's the compressor clutch within 2 minutes) and they both said around 1500 to replace the whole system. Even the gentleman who saw me says I hate to have you bring it to a third place but if two other shops said that it's the compressor that might be the issue. My AC would work fine when it was cold but just stopped during the hot afternoons. So I could not see how my compressor was actually bad. This Firestone whom after inspecting everything actually found the faulty component (a receiver/drier). The cost for 500 something for parts and labor was much more pleasing to my ears than 1500 something. However to have an actual inspection that found the faulty part won over my business for sure. I also went on a weekend where signing up for a Firestone card and the cost for services was over a certain amount dropped my total by a pertaining value and I paid 400 something at the end of the service. This place has been nothing but professional and I would highly recommend them from the service I did receive. They have a very knowledgeable staff and I also like that they are open on Sunday since the weekends are usually the only days I have time off from work. read more

I cannot really comment on whether or not this store does good work, but I was not impressed by their level of customer service. I recently purchased two new tires from this establishment and had them installed on the front of my Taurus. I noticed the next day while driving my car that it had a slight drift to the left, most noticeable at highway speeds, so I took my car in to a different chain and they performed a 4-wheel alignment. My drift problem, however, did not go away so I then went to yet another mechanic who verified that my alignment was done properly but suggested I replaced my front strut assemblies due to worn bearings at the top up the strut and the fact that they had 100,000 miles on them. I had the strut work performed and this mechanic took my car for a test drive only to find I still had a slight leftward drift. They then swapped my front tires (left to right, and vice versa) and the left-drifting problem became a right-drifting problem. This mechanic recommended I go back to where I purchased the tires and have the new tires looked at. When I went back to the Firestone store in Canton I described the situation and politely request that they inspect my newly installed tires. Maybe there was a factory defect. Maybe I hit a pothole that caused damage. Who knows. Anyway, they started off by telling me that perhaps the other mechanic did not perform a proper alignment and that they could do that for me. When I asked again about just wanting my tires inspected I was told by the service agent, "Well, I can look at them, but I'm not going to find anything. All I'm going to tell you is that it's round and it's black". I was then told, once more, that they could perform an alignment because the other mechanic might not have done it properly. I never had this steering drift issue until I purchased the new tires. Maybe it's not related, but I am very frustrated that they would not even offer to INSPECT my newly purchased tires at my request, and I was very put off when they would not even entertain the notion that something might be wrong with them. I felt very belittled by the service agents at Canton Firestone and was basically treated like I must not know what I was talking about. That is not how a paying customer should be treated. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered . Customer service is seriously lacking at the Canton location. I went in for 2 tire replacement, oil change and tire repair. I was told it should take a total of an hour and a half. Ok, not a problem, went and got lunch, did a little shopping at a nearby store. I returned after an hour and 20 minutes to find that the only thing that was done to my truck was the removal of the rear tires. All the shop guys were standing around eating pizza. I asked how much longer and was told an extra hour. The guy told me it would take 45 minutes to do a single tire patch...wow, I don't ever remember it taking that long when I worked for a tire shop. When they finally started to make the repairs to my tires the stated that they could not patch on because the new patch would be to close to a old repair that that I would have to buys new tire.... Total B.S. If you ask me, it was a sales tactic and only a foolish person would fall for it. I told them to put the screw back in the tire and I will go elsewhere for the repair. At this point, I was beyond livid so I asked if they even did the oil change yet and he replied with "I don't know what was done on your truck". The whole time I was there, the majority of the staff was being very condescending. At one point a shop member came out to the waiting area looking for a tire and dropped the F bomb in front of multiple customers. To top off the experience, a different customer came in to ask about a prior repair that was made to his vehicle by Firestone. The customer spoke with an employee by the name of Steve. Steve was very rude and condescending to this customer. In conclusion, I will never step foot in that store again. read more

I have read the negative reviews of this business and quite frankly I am stupefied. Tire repairs should be free??? A wheel center cap is gone after a simple oil change, I suppose you need to remove the cap to drain the oil. C'mon man! Someone takes their vehicle to a "friend" and he performs the work cheaper? I thank him for his lengthy dissertation on the industry woes but I am not shocked that a buddy might repair his car for less than a licensed business with a brick and mortar location reporting that sale while collecting and paying taxes on the transaction. Finally I see a trend of folks that prefer Discount or Belle Tire visiting this location and reporting disappointment with the service received because the door to Firestone is open when the doors of the aforementioned competitors are not. I have had extremely good service at this location and I find the reviews of it that I have read to be absolutely illogical. read more
