He kept repeating that he didn't talk to salesmen, even though I asked him a very simple question. Do you use epoxy glue? He yelled at me at the top of his lungs, "Get out!" He reminded me of Will Smith at the Oscars slapping Chris Rock. He physically rushed around the counter from behind the Covid plastic screen to try to start a fight with me. I couldn't believe it. Was this guy okay in the head? Why was he rushing towards me? In that moment, he actually verbally threatened me with physical violence and made me believe he was going to start a fight with me. Thank God there were no woman or children in the waiting room. I was near the door. "Should I run out of the shop?" I asked myself. I never said anything wrong and never once raised my voice. All I did was ask a simple question. I think said, "I was just asking you, if you used epoxy." When he saw I wasn't scared of him and that I was just calmly standing there, he stopped rushing towards me and started berating me. He was yelling at me at the top of his lungs. Please be kind. Kindness cost nothing. I let him know how his behavior made me feel and turned around and walked out of his shop. Then I drove around the corner and cried for ten minutes in my car thinking of how much I hated my job and my life. I am a sales man and it is difficult for me to make a living.
