As requested, she proceeded to even out my overgrown sides while leaving the top with a decent amount of volume. I also opted for the wash and gel afterwards. Honestly, the shampoo Vivian used smelled really good. The only critique I'd give was that her nails did scratch my scalp slightly, though the duty cycle was acceptable. Whilst getting gelled up, she did massage my scalp pretty well, so in a sense the sensation balanced out. Overall, the cut on its own was $15 with the wash adding an additional $10. Overpriced for an eyeball haircut, literally! I asked for a straight cut, she parted my hair, asked how much to trim and just cut it, then eye balled the other side and done. Didn't measure if both sides were even. My hair dried and I can see its uneven. Been coming here for 7-8 years or so since early high school. Tiger is extremely nice and knowledgeable about anything related to hair. He noticed that some parts of my hair were extremely dry/brittle and suggested that I should buy a new hairdryer with certain specifications to look out for. After buying a new hairdryer (at TJmaxx nearby), I suddenly notice how much my hair quality has improved! I also wanted to try a new hairstyle as I'm now in my 20s. Thought of getting a short haircut with the ends right below my ears. He said that it would be better to have the ends at the neckline since that's the trend for younger folks such as myself. Decided to come here after my girlfriend said she got a pretty good hair cut from the lady. I took a chance (I have salon I regularly go to, but closed for COVID) and decided to get a haircut with the lady. (I hear there is also a man who works there but he wasn't in) I already felt kind of weird because of the shabby outdoor setup, bit didn't think it would affect the outcome of my haircut. Showed the lady pictures CLEARLY of what I wanted, and what I didn't want. I also told her my fear of a flat crown (back of the head) and please add volume there. Barley looking at the photos and saying she knew what to do, she then proceeds to chop my hair without hesitation with scissors (I have long hair for a male, bangs almost reaching my chin). She literally just point-cutted most of my hair in less than ten minutes, leaving me with the worst haircut I've even gotten & I wish I was exaggerating. The reason why I go to salons is because they specialize in cutting long hair. Usually, I get my hair parted in sections, they start with my sides and back, and get the top of my hair layered, with attention to my crown. This lady what seemed like no technique whatsoever just grabbed some scissors and destroyed my hair in a rush. I know I should have said something, but I kept thinking that she knows what shes doing and I hate telling "professionals" how to do their job. By the time I realized my hair was destroyed, it was wayy to late. I was visibly displeased, but she kept on trying to fill the awkward silence by saying how much of an "improvement" it was to my former hair. When I wasn't giving her the reaction she wanted, she kept trying to get one out of my gf saying "doesn't it look much better"!? She even made a comment saying I looked much younger like a high school kid and started to laugh. She's right about that, I literally look like a boy now.... I told her I didn't want to look young and she said when you get older you would want to look younger..... like wtf??? I never write reviews, but after being laughed at by my peers and family and even more than the laughter, just remembering the blatant disregard of what I wanted, I just had to leave something that she would potentially read. After asking me If I liked it, me wanting to be polite said "It would look better when my hair grows out". Paid 20 bucks and left with so much regret in my stomach. All I wanted was the typical two-block haircut with good movement, instead of a mop, but what I got instead was what I could only describe as a unsymmetrical, spiky, short, flat crown mess. I don't think this haircut could be any further than what I wanted. My regret is being wayy to polite and letting her do her thing. I shouldn't have payed her a dime, but at the time, I just wanted to get the hell out of there, having a deep, horrible feeling in my stomach from what she did to my hair, literally felt trauma.....I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND any male come here, can't say the same for women's as she did do a pretty good job on my gf the other week. All I have left to say is shame on her for rushing & trying to constantly justify the horrible job she did, I'm sure she knew this haircut looks horrible. I don't know if I really want to come back here after my third visit. Tiger has always been decent, but try not to get Vivian... She's a bit of a scam artist. *Important info*: there is a $10 minimum on credit cards, yet they advertise $7 haircuts. Perfect bait to reel customers in. Anyways, the first time I went in, Vivian charged me $16 for a haircut. When I asked why it wasn't $7, she told me it was because she washed my hair after the cut. She never told me that the wash was extra...She just asked me if I wanted to wash my hair.... Sooo, you're going to charge me an additional $9 just to put shampoo in my hair? That's more than the haircut itself. But I always give bussinesses the benefit of the doubt when I first go in, so I let it slide. The second time around, I got Tiger and had no issues really. I didn't get a GREAT haircut, but it was substantial. He's fine in my book... However today, I got Vivian again and I honestly recieved a pretty sub par cut this time around...When it came to paying, I only had a $5 bill on me, but I did have coins. When I asked if I can pay the rest with coins, she flat out told me, "We don't accept coin! We have too many coin. You should pay credit card!" Coins are still a valid form of currency in the US, ma'am... Besides I was only going to pay her $2 worth of coins... She was trying to rip me off again pretty much. But with the holidays coming around, I decided not to fight with her and just paid with my card when I really didn't want to. I wasn't going to fight over $3... However, she pretty much got a $3 tip for a mediocre haircut. She does not deserve any tip to be honest... I definately gave her a bit of the cold shoulder as I was leaving since she was being shady again... It seems like this place likes to take advantage of their non-Chinese customers...Good thing Yelp exists! I don't know if I trust this place anymore. If you absolutely HAVE TO come here, get Tiger to cut your hair because he actually has integrity. I came to Tiger 3 times, and the first two times were very smooth and relaxing experience. This last time (3rd) time he rushed to get my hair cut and almost nipped my ear 3 times. I was so afraid of that I almost wanted to leave, and he really seemed like he didn't want to cut my hair this time. So I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon.
