I've eaten at Fastino's since they opened and the food is amazing! The salads are fantastic! Seriously, the salad dressings are incredible and the veggies are super fresh! The pasta is always incredible and they have a killer family meal deal. I like the pizza too. Frankly, there are just a ton of great options. The real star here, however, is the fresh squeezed orange juice! It's incredible. My husband craves it and he is super picky when it comes to orange juice. But remember to ask for it without ice because they put it in as a default. The location is super convenient but it can get a little backed up because they never have the second lane open. I think this is probably due to staffing and cost efficiency but it would be nice to have the option of both lanes again. read more

Social isolation drove me to this place. We pulled into the parking lot and started to go past the menu when I heard a voice say may I help you?. We were both surprised that it was open. The place looks a little rundown and the trashcan/dumpster right by the order window while waiting to pay was very unappetizing. We placed our order, Got our food from a very pleasant cashier, drove down the street and tried out the food. It was great! The pizza crust is thick and loaded with cheese. They were good. The salad was very good as well. They give you a big box to eat out of and Parmesan cheese with red chili sprinkles with each slice. It's kind of weird getting used to eating out of your car. Drove up and the wait time was about 30 minutes. They didn't have anything but the pasta menu and few desserts. I got green chili chicken fettuccine Alfredo because they were out of penne. And it was SPICY HOT. But after waiting for that long and being so hungry I tried to eat it through tears and runny nose. Keep in mind I'm from New Mexico and I love hot green chili. BUT THIS. This is the second time Fastino's has canceled a large group order. Today Fastino's canceled my catering order 32 minutes before delivery time. The order was for 25 people. I had to scramble to find food for the entire office. The service at both Saggios and Fastino's is terrible. We don't go to Saggios in the UNM area any longer because of the terrible service. From the moment we pulled up to this drive thru Italian spot, I had my doubts about the quality of the food. First, I've never heard of a drive thru Italian or pizza spot before. I think there's a reason for that. Quality Italian food requires more time to prep and cook than a drive thru allows. Second, we learned right away that they were out of pizza dough and therefore couldn't make a fresh pizza with our desired toppings. It seems pretty bad for a pizza place to run out of dough. Instead, we ordered a few slices of pizza with mushrooms and green chile. I'm assuming that they must take their pre-made cheese slices and add toppings to it. However, we didn't receive what we ordered and instead got slices with fresh tomatoes. By the time we realized this mistake, we were already home. Luckily, it was a mistake that the boys were able to deal with. As vegetarians, they would have had a lot of trouble if we had received a meat topping instead. I wasn't feeling in the mood for pizza and decided to try their baked ziti instead. I was happy to find that you could order the smaller lunch portion at dinner time but I wasn't overly impressed with the pasta as a whole. The sauce didn't have a lot of flavor and the ciabatta bread didn't add much to the dish. A garlic bread would be a better option for a side. read more

The food is great, and the main reason we keep returning. However, the last three times we've been to the 4th Street store, there have been problems with our order. The first time, there was some problem with the ovens and our order took over 30 minutes to get to us. The second and third times I got home without one of the items that I ordered and paid for. I returned; the second time I received an apology but nothing else. This evening, I arrived home without an entire slice of pizza, so I returned to the store, and I didn't even receive an apology, much less a free slice or dessert. The pizza probably would have been better had I eaten it right away (waited about 30-35 minutes by the time I got home and situated) but it seemed fresh, the tomato sauce is robust. Next time, I will get the regular slice and see how it goes. My favorite part was that I can get saggios pasta salad in a drive thru. The portion is huge and it was one of my favorites to eat in college. The drive thru attendant was kind. I recommend cleaning the side drive thru window, just because I notice those things. Fastino's is a place I happened to stumble upon about a year ago while driving around searching for a place to eat. Since then, I've had their food a multitude of times, with the same result each time I visit the restaurant: great food and great price. The food is of relatively large portion sizes and is of consistently good quality, and is served up rather quickly through the location's drive-through window. The employees are also always very polite, and overall the experience I get from each trip to Fastino's is always a positive one. My personal highlight would be the calzones, and I would highly recommend them. It's great to see Saggio's expand and try new methods of delivering their food to more consumers, and the quality remains consistent with what people expect from Saggio's. read more

I would've given Fastino's 5 stars for their awesome pizza...but then I ate (or tried to eat) breakfast here. Ok...maybe it's my fault for ordering breakfast from a pizza joint, but this was the saddest excuse for a breakfast I've ever seen. The breakfast items they have to choose from are pretty odd (think carne adovada on ciabatta bread). I tried the Butter Love...or something like that...either way it sounded like the safest choice (croissant with egg, ham, and cheese). I can't remember ever having done this before, but I actually spit out the first bite. It tasted like greasy, BARELY WARM, freezer-burned rubber with an odd film on it. How sad is that? I gave it another shot and took another bite; Still no improvement. There is one tiny, thin slice of swiss cheese, a paper-thin slice of ham, and a greasy, floppy croissant. The only way I can describe the eggs is two round, rubbery egg discs. It's a darn good thing that the pizza is so good there or I wouldn't have been able to keep the 3 stars I gave. I tried this place on the way to work for the first time today. I'd seen in a couple of times, but never have been there. I was in a real hurry to get to work and wanted some good food. This place is set up really cool and has a good concept. The concept is to get you in, out, and on your way. The skinny building has a drive through on each side so whichever way you come from, you can get into the drive through easily.It took me about 3-5 minutes from driving into the drivethrough to get my food. I was impressed with the food. I had both a large green salad and the lunch portion of the penne with green chile and chicken for under $10. I would go to Fastino's again. Honestly I have been pretty impressed with this restaurant. I have dined here twice and I have had pretty good experiences both times. The food is pretty good and it's pretty fairly priced. I was able to share a build-your-own pizza with two other people, and for $8.36 (the price with tax) it's not a bad deal. With the build-your-own you get to pick a sauce, a meat, and two veggies. You can also add additional toppings for a small charge. I would suggest to maybe add an additional meat because they are pretty heavy on the veggies and that can take away from the meat taste, but it is good anyhow. I also really like their specialty pizza called HEAT. It is really delicious and I high recommend it! I will say the pizzas do take a little while to cook, but honestly since they have to build it and cook it, I feel it is totally acceptable. I would really like to try a rice bowl or a breakfast item the next time I dine there. I really feel you should give this place a try. The food is of a pretty good quality and the price is fair. This place is great for a couple of reasons. I got the number five combo which comes with a drink choice from Pepsi products, A slice of pepperoni pizza, and a "side of pasta." It's a drive thru quick service place, no seats to sit and eat. It's great for a fast lunch. The pasta side was huge. It was like a second entree. The pasta salad is made with Penne pasta, tomatoes, broccoli, covered in pesto, and topped with dry parmasan. The pizza was huge as well. It was very cheesy. The crust was crispy and overall not bad. Saturday night visit... drive up menu board says open Saturday until 9pm. I'm at the window at 8:50 and the employee tells me.. "sorry I'm closing up. Ordered lunch through Grubhub. The cheesecake from the kids meal was missing so I contacted the restaurant and was told to stop by after work and I would be given 2 slices. When I arrived I was rudely told that since I ordered through Grubhub there was nothing that could be done on the part of Fastinos as Grubhub was responsible. The manager went so far as to accuse the driver of stealing the cheesecake. I don't have an issue dealing with Grubhub over this, but I do have an issue with being told one thing and this not being honored after I've gone out of my way to go to the restaurant. My wife and I ordered a slice of pizza, 4 meat calzone and a canole. When we got home we started to eat our meal and quickly noticed that the pizza is definitely not the same as Saggios. The calzone was super greasy and the sausage was a very strange Grey color. After dissecting the calzone I decided not to eat it and offered it to the dog, he refused to eat it!!!!!! My wife had only take a few bites but about 5 hours later she was vomiting and stuck to the toilet all night. This food is poison!!!!! The Fastino's staff on Juan Tabo are great staff!! The 4th street staff is awful. After returning to work and not having dressing in the bag for a salad I purchased,I called the 4th street location finally after this being the 3rd time it has happened at that location. I advised the female worker who answered the phone that this has happened multiple times before. She asked where I was at and I advised her my location and that it was too far to come back and retrieve my dressing. I asked her if she would eat salad without dressing, and she responded that doesn't use it on her salad. I said okay, but why have a citrus salad w/o citrus? She kept telling me to call her manager as he comes in a 3p. When I asked for her name, she said she didn't have to give it me because she wasn't a manager. I asked to leave my name and phone number and she responded she wasn't a manager and wouldn't take it. I admit, I began to get rude with her. All that had to be said to was, "I am sorry there was a mistake made to your order." Why is it soo difficult to speak to a customer in a kind manner? I would have acted completely different if there had been some sort empathy. I will call the manager on duty at 3p, however, myself and my 4 co-workers who purchase food from there fairly often, will be no longer. read more
