The project was originally supposed to be completed on 12/19/24 as communicated by the Dr. Fix-It team but the timeframe kept getting pushed back due to miscellaneous issues including but not limited to, scheduling, broken parts, wrong parts being ordered, work just generally taking longer than anticipated. The contractors consistently put in about 6 hours days (arrived around 9am and would leave by 4pm and take a lunch at 12pm). We went with Dr. Fix-It because of their positive reviews and they were responsive to our initial call. Unfortunately, with our home project, we had quite a few unexpected issues arise. One frustration I had with this team was their inability to set expectations properly. It was evident the project would not be completed by 12/19 but we had to call daily for updates where they would continue to tell us it would be finished by xx day and when xx day arrived, they'd say they need another xx hours to complete the job for xx reason. This was the cycle and it was frustrating. We worked with quite a few contractors for this project - Kevin did the mold removal and he was 10/10 great. He was professional, communicative, and kind. He also helped quite a bit when it came to working with the adjuster. It was a stressful time for us as this issue occurred spontaneously but Kevin really made us feel like he would take care of us, and he did. We did not really work well with Keith and his style of communicating. He is pretty reactive and gets frustrated easily. He does a lot of the behind the scenes work, so luckily you wouldn't have to communicate with him regularly. There was one instance where he was yelling over the phone when prompted for an updated timeframe. The contractors who did the rebuild of our bathroom did good work but they need a lot of direction and made mistakes they had to fix along the way. We felt that Keith should have allocated more resources to our project at times especially because we were weeks off target. For such a large project, and having one contractor on-site for ~6 hours a day, the progress was often disappointing. They gave us two contractors a day once the project was already severely over-due. Due to project delays, they had to lay the new carpet prior to finishing the rebuild of the bathroom. About halfway through, our project was assigned a Project Manager, Kim. No complaints about her, she did her job well and we were happy to be communicating with her over Keith. The project was taking so long that I touched up their paint job in the master, and painted most of the bathroom myself. We also had to do all of the cleaning. For example, they were cutting tile etc in the master bedroom and we cleaned every inch of that room ourselves. They ordered the wrong size shower doors twice and finally got it on their third try (and then ultimately put them on wrong). The shower door issue alone pushed out the project over a week. Overall, their attention to detail, cleanliness, communication and respect could be improved on. They left us with the following issues after we had (unfortunately) already signed and paid them in full on the last day - We have no hot water in our shower (the temperature control shower handle is only able to reach cold), the shower isn't sealed properly and water leaks outside of the shower, all of the shower doors need to be flipped 180 degrees (door handle is on right hand side vs left and it's difficult to get out of the shower +extremely impractical), they swapped hot and cold water supply on one of our faucets + water leaks inside the vanity, they dinged pretty much every surface in existence inside our house and in the newly renovated bathroom. Do not sign that the project is complete until you have tested everything. They will offer to fix their mistakes for a cost if you've already signed. We are hiring different contractors to fix Dr. Fix-Its mistakes.

We hired Demarco Restortation after a house fire in April of 2022. Everything sounded great…read morehowever when the work did start we found out he didnt have all his permits together which slowed down the process of the house rebuild. We were out of our home for almost 2 years after he told us when we hired him he needed 9 months. He subcontracts out for each job in the house. I have a list of thing that did not get done and a list of things they were done very sloppy. From smoked damaged doors frames, terrible paint job that was not completed, we still have spackle marks that never got sanded and painted over, we have a lot of areas where the paint is unfinished. Leaks from the one of the upstairs bathrooms that left water stairs on the ceiling downstairs. Closet doors don't stay shut, bedroom door still can just be pushed open even when locked, Bathroom door has a big gap when closed so you can still see in, stairs never got a clear poxy coat over the stain so the stain in worn. We were suppose to have the patio that needed to be dug up replaced but smaller to give us more yard room, instead nothing was done leaving the yard to be a nightmare of just dirt a uneven ground. Gaps in the exterior doors where we can see sunlight coming into the house also bringing in mice so we had to have an exterminator. His electrician wouldnt run the main electrical line to the house so we needed to figure that out. Beeping in 2 of the smoke detectors kept going off during the rebuild process so instead of replacing these during the build they removed them and never replaced them. Exterior doors never painted one exterior doors never had its hardware put on. We were suppose to get a tile backsplash in the kitchen, that was never installed. The floor his guys put down is coming up all over the house because it wasnt installed properly. We were suppose to have a hallway closet upstairs, the inside of the closet still has unfinished drywall, no shelves or door so its just an empty hole in the wall right now. One of the front windows does not open and shut properly. The communication was terrible the entire time and he seemed to be very short and have an attitude with us. He now just sued us for the $13,000 that wasnt paid. We dropped the ball with filing an appeal because we have 4 kids and both have full time job. We are both very busy and missed the deadline. I would never recommend him to anybody.

Andrew was amazing in coming and saving the day to clean up the mess before a wedding was to come that weekend. The most recent occurrence was dealing with a lot of mold that had built up in my sisters apartment due to a leaky window and rotted sill. Andrew arrived at 6 AM and set up a protected barrier around the affected area and attached a sanitation fan. Then he used a massive commercial UV fan to kill any other spores in the air in her apartment. These units ran for two straight days while my sister stayed with me. Andrew also cleaned the carpets and used a HEPA filter vacuum to do the final cleaning . When Lisa returned to her apartment yesterday, for the first time in many years she was not wheezy, and her sinuses felt clear. This is a miracle and one that she welcomed after many years of suffering due to the mold side effects. Thank you Andrew for your professionalism and prompt response in helping us out. Don't go anywhere else... Andrew is the real deal so just hire him to get it right!
