They had Karaoke being hosted by this lady named, "Comedian Ms.Anita," and she was HILARIOUS and she kept us customers entertained!! I can't remember my servers name but she was kind, familiar with the menu, and gave recommendations. I did go on a week day so it wasn't crowded. She recommended the Rum Punch, I will say I wasn't crazy about it but it did what it was suppose to do ‍ lol. I started with the Crab Fries, to die for....yummy! Tried Fat Boiz for the 1st time and I was impressed. It started with the amazing General Manager Keysha who greeted me like I was already family. She struck up an amazing conversation without rushing me thru my order. We connected on L.A. roots. The food was so well seasoned and that Salmon and Grits hit the spot. A very generous portion for sharing. I also ordered the Chicken Philly, Salmon Bites, and the Triple Egg Rolls. Each bite was better and better. He got the Sweet Jones sauce on the side for the wings along with cheese scrambled eggs. I ordered the Gritz, Gritz, and More Gritz with salmon with the cajun sauce and spinach on the side and scrambled eggs. It also came with a biscuit which was a surprise. We then ordered 2 mimosas, strawberry for him and mango for me. It took some time for the food, but we were thoroughly pleased with the outcome. Presentation was beautiful and everything tasted delicious. The grits were creamy, salmon seasoned and cooked to perfection, scrambled eggs were flavorful, and the biscuit tasted homemade. Was in the area and a fellow shopper recommended it as a good spot for lunch. I was seated soon after arrival. I had a little trouble with the QR code menu but my waiter, Moses, was great! He offered to describe some of their most-ordered meals along with his personal favorites, but the menu finally loaded. I chose an appetizer of five wings and a Bowl with a small side of greens. The collards were probably not the best I ever had - a lot of thick stems in my serving, but the serving was ample. All in all it was a very delicious meal with great service by Moses and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place. We ordered online and carried out on a Saturday early evening. This was just an okay experience for me. We ordered ~20 minutes in advance and were quoted an 8-10 minute wait when we arrived. It actually took about 15 mins to get our food and drinks. Beware that the menus uploaded here on Yelp are a little outdated so all of the options you see on the menu may not be current. Here's what we had: --Gritz, Gritz, & More Gritz with salmon. Wanted snapper but that's no longer an option. It was salty and overall just okay. I wouldn't want the salmon again. --Cheeseburger and fries for the preteen. She said it was delicious --Veggie burger and fries for the family elder. She said it was also delicious and noted that it was probably the exact same process and fixings as the preteen's burger. --Crab fries for my sis. I wanted to like these more than I did. The fries were made well. The crab sauce didn't seem to be enough and I didn't love the seasonings. --FatRollz Platter to sample. It was supposed to have one chicken, one salmon and one steak. They're cut in half so, you'd get 6 total rolls with two of each flavor. As fast as we could tell, our box only had chicken and salmon, no steak in sight. They were okay. The chicken had too much cream cheese in it. The salmon had pieces so small (think tiny riced pieces) that I really couldn't taste that it was salmon, just see it. I've been wanting to eat some oxtails and I landed Fat Boiz. I ordered the oxtail plate with rice and got Mac and cheese and sweet potato soufflé for my sides. I paid close to $30 for this plate. It is a bit on the pricey side but I will say it is worth it. I got so much food and it was very delicious. The oxtails were very flavorful and juicy not dry at all. The Mac and cheese was decent not the best I've had but still good and the sweet potato soufflé was also good I wish it had some pecan topping but that's a personal preference. I did take this to go and didn't eat there however I was immediately greeted and was helped as soon as I walked in. Employees were very polite and helpful. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:47 pm on 9/1/24 and my to go order was taken within 5 minutes. This restaurant uses a text service to keep you updated on when your food is ready. While waiting, I noticed it may be a family owned business. I received my receipt which included a 10 percent service charge so $3.75 based on my order for 2 meals. Why the service charge? And for a to go order. At 1:10pm, I received a text that my food was ready. I alerted the young man and he ignored me. Ten minutes later, I demanded he get my food from the kitchen. I am a Caucasian female and this is an African American business. The young man brings my food out and shows me that he got it. It's in a clear, plastic box that clearly shows its hot without touching it. The young man proceeds to assist new customers coming in and ignoring me. I had no other choice but to make a scene and request a bag so I can leave. The racism is disgraceful and disgusting! I am not the customer to be treated like this and I will make sure to expose this restaurant to the fullest extent possible! I left the restaurant at 1:28 pm. The food was cold and I was not able to reheat the fries. I had a catfish po boy and my African American friend had a Fat Boi burger both with fries. Food was ok but fries were cold.
