Went to celebrate my uncle birthday the atmosphere was nice. We sat right next to the DJ and he was playing some Old School music. It was a mixed crowd but everyone was enjoying themselves. I went in thinking I was going to get the Chicken N Waffles but as I'm looking around I noticed the table next to me had some Oxtails that looked really good. So I decided to order the Oxtail dinner with rice and mac n cheese. For my appetizer I got the fried green tomatoes. I taste the Chicken Alfredo the Alfredo sauce was really good. My uncle ended up getting the Conch it was a little too rubbery for me but seasoned good. Sweet potato soufflé had to much nutmeg in it. Collard greens was seasoned really good. Absolutely some of THE BEST service I've ever received. We drove an hour and a half to get here and unfortunately because it took so long it was later in the evening, so things were running out. Despite that they did their absolute best to make sure we were satisfied. It's small inside so expect a wait for a table. Food is also cooked to order, and there's a sign when you walk in that says expect to wait on your food, so you get where I'm going lol. The staff was cool tho. The food was delicious. I got the crab fries, snapper (get it grilled) and the chicken tender kids meal. Those chicken tenders were good too and I'm no tender fan. My husband and I tried to patronize this restaurant today. We arrived around 11am and were seated after about 5 minutes of waiting for a table to be cleaned. The hostess left the table wet and placed 2 plastic silverware packets on the table. From that point on , no one came over to take our order or ask if we were ok. We literally sat there for 20 minutes with servers walking past us, including a man who seemed to be the manager/owner, and no one came over to take our order or even bring us water. They would look at us but did not stop at the table. We got up to leave and walked out as a large crowd was coming in and again....no one said anything to us. I heard that this restaurant was pretty good and the food was bomb. I decided to try it myself and see what the hype was about. When I came in they were only doing to-go the dine in area was closed. The server did inform me that the shut their grill down because they were closing soon. I got the medium heat wings with lemon pepper sprinkles on top with the fries. The wait time was about 15 minutes which wasn't bad. All the food was very delicious, nice and hot. I will definitely come back to get some med heat wings with fries. Went to grab something to eat New Years Eve and they had a DJ playing (wasn't expecting that). We were greeted by a young man at the door who gave us time to look at the menu and place our to-go order. We tried the Snapper 2 ways with grits & greens, Catfish po boi w/crab fries, mac n cheese, and the Garlic butter wings Pro: Snapper meal was amazing, didn't survive long. Grits were some of the best I've had in a while. Catfish po boi was very good. Fries were good, however, I would recommend eating crab fries there as they don't travel well (get very soggy). Garlic butter wings were solid. The remoulade sauce is the star! Cons: Location, too far to be an everyday location. All in all, the food was good, Mac n cheese needed some love, and fries were ok. Our server was absolutely fantastic!! HOWEVER, we had an issue with one of the orders. We came in at 2:30 and were immediately seated (at two tables instead of one we were promised when we made the reservation - party of 9) My husband's order of steak (well done) and eggs was mixed up so they said it would be a few minutes more. Everyone else at the table was through eating by the time his order came out (at 3:30). Still not right but he was starving. One of our friends asked for the manager because this place had been a go-to spot for the men's ministry at church (for breakfast or brunch) and they had always had good service. The menu needs to be updated in regards of the chicken it was very much giving pull chicken not grilled chicken as described on their website. Today was my first time trying Fat Boiz. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. I work in McDonough and I visit Origin Story comic shop in this plaza frequently on my lunch break. I'd seen the sign for Fat Boiz several times, but never tried it. The good: * The service was great. The hostess was very friendly and offered up quite a few suggestions. * The restaurant was very clean. * The fries were still crispy by the time I got back to my office and they were delicious. The bad: HOO BOY! *I ordered the 8 piece wings and fries. The wings were tossed in a sauce they called "Sweet Jones" and that was an understatement. It's a syrupy mess that cooled into a candy-like shell by the time I got to try one. Coupled with the breading the wings were...unpleasant to say the least. Maybe I caught them on a bad day...or the day before they change the oil in the fryers. Don't take my word for it, I got pictures! If I were a dine-in customer, I would have sent them back, but being a takeout customer who just paid $16(!) for wings and fries, I tried to soldier on. Alas...I couldn't do it. I need y'all to truly take this in and understand it...I'm a fat guy who loves wings and his money and I threw the tray away after many fries and two wings. The crab fries are a hit, the chicken alfredo had good seasoning and was very good as well, only thing missing was the broccoli (as stated on the menu) it came with spinach instead. The fried catfish seemed to be over cooked just a bit, the collard greens had a heavy dash of salt and the mac & cheese was "decent". I enjoyed the red velvet chicken and waffles. You can really taste the flavor of the waffles which I enjoyed. My friends enjoyed the oxtail omelette and the fajita omelette. The restaurant was cozy with music playing at an appropriate level for conversation. We changed seating because of the sun and the hostess was very accommodating. so I'm here at in Georgia right now my son here I offered to pick up his food. I have been standing here for 15 minutes. I have not been greeted not once by the staff. The is right by the door the bartender has looked up six times. It's Mother's Day and no one has greeted anyone standing up here that is not customer service. after 18 minutes I've gotten doing and then the person at the front walks away has not even asked me. Here's another update 6/24/21: They now have a store-front location with a sit down restaurant vibe with a full bar. They also have daiquiri drink machines! The food comes out much faster and still taste delicious! Prices are a little on the high side ($10-17 a meal) but well worth it for the quality of food.
