My burger today was on a stale bun. I was also charged .74 cents for a ranch that was watered down. After leaving I got a bank alert for a charge of $1.74. Fat Boy has a diverse and affordable menu and good quality. Location is a bit rundown but clean, and staffed with friendly faces. I've been to the Henderson location more often, where the chencho fries are a highlight (just don't tell my cardiologist). I was recently in this area and grabbed a Gucamole Boyger- got the monster half-pound size which was obviously more than enough but so good. Single patty had crispy edges but was still juicy, guac was fresh, could've used more cheese but that's just being picky. Burgers, burritos, chicken fingers, pizza, French fries! You can add an egg or bacon to your burger and go full carnivore! Small but clean, not much in the way of seating, so ordering for takeout might be a good bet. The staff was super chill and helpful, but best of all the burger was amazing! I had a double cheese burger and it was perfection! My eating buddy had French fries and chicken fingers that also looked amazing. Ok, people, the quality was high the price was low! What can I say, being back on the east side means you have to hit up all of the east side staples. After my wife suggested burger king for dinner, I suggested fat boy instead. For around 25 bucks I got a Monster Pastrami Burger, a regular Monster Burger and 3 regular burgers for the kids. Also add a bucket of fries and we were in business. The burgers feature a beef patties on a toasted bun with lettuce tomato etc.. you know what comes on. A buyer. This home made style burger stand is what you would find in LA but in Vegas they are more rare. I'm happy to say that Fatboy not only is one of the best but also one of the cheapest as well. They also do pizza, burritos, chencho fries, but I only get the burgers. And usually I get them with a mountain of pastrami added to it. Everything is always good here and the service is exceptional. We always drive by this place, so last week Friday, we decided to check it out. This place is very small, so be prepared to either take your food to go, or find a table. We decided to dine in on both occasions. The first time we came, I fell in love. We had their Buffalo chicken wings, Guacamole burger, Onion rings and both skinny & fat fries. We told my parents about it, and they couldn't wait to try it. This time, we order a Medium pepperoni pizza, 24 Wings, Avocado burger, Onion rings, fat & skinny fries. And my Dad had his Pastrami sandwich. Place was super busy, but gladly we found a table (only around 5 small tables inside). Their prices are very affordable which makes it great for families. TURKEY BURGERS AND VEGGIE BURGERS! Yes please. I have such a hard time finding good tasting Turkey burgers that are just frozen patties with little flavor. These are obviously handmade pressed on a flat top so they get that carmelized crust on the outside that tastes like a burger should. Every Burger comes with basic Toppings including Chipotle mayo which is not at all spicy it just gives a great flavor. CHENCHO FRIES! Have mercy. They no longer do fat or skinny fries they just do medium fries which are fantastic. These come with a delicious flavorful and not too spicy green sauce with chicken and mozzarella cheese melted on top and are absolutely addictive. DRINKS: they have a few fountain beverages to choose from but the also so cancellatus 2 leaders and a few jalisco bottled drinks and Mexican coke as well. SERVICE: You couldn't ask for more friendly fast and efficient service. The lobby was well kept and very clean. We were provided napkins and forks and cups for ice to go with our canned soda. When it comes to variety and delicious food, Fat Boy tips the scale. This is the original Fat Boy that has developed such a high reputation for its delicious food that recently they opened a second location in Henderson. Although this would be my sole visit to this Fat Boy, I had visited their Henderson location three times. These visits exposed me to tasty comfort food that included the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, pastrami sandwich, monster cheeseburger, and fat fries. In similar fashion to a Beatles tune, everything was off the charts good. The Henderson Fat Boy is another review for another time. In perspective to this review, it was important to relate to the fact that I was so impressed with the food and service that I would try the original one when I was in the area. It was a few Sundays ago when I was driving with an appetite on the east side of Las Vegas on my way home from Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge. A mental bookmark illuminated. It said "Fat Boy." This mental bookmark was erased when I pulled into an old shopping center at the northeast corner of Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue. It was a short walk to the original Fat Boy. My first impression was that if I was a Fat Boy I'd have trouble maneuvering around the place. It is a small space with a couple of tables and just enough room for an overhead menu above the few tables on the right. Having dinner in this small space, I observed that there is a need for a restroom. The small dining area is the antithesis of the large dining area in Henderson. The food is just as grand. Decisions! Decisions! I decided on their Monster Cheese Boyger (they call burger boyger) combo. The kid asked my name. At Fat Boy they call your name when it's ready. At the Henderson restaurant they had said "Bye Daniel" whenever I left. The kid would tell me that it would be ready in about fifteen minutes. This brings up the point that Fat Boy is not fast food. Regardless that the setup is similar to a fast food restaurant, here the food is made after ordering. At the time I exchanged $8.24 plus tax for the Monster Cheese Boyger combo that included a fountain beverage and fat fries, they started cooking the food. The fifteen minute wait was worthwhile. The Monster Boyger agreed with my taste buds. Two white buns anchored a thick burger covered with chipotle, mayonnaise, tomato, onions, lettuce, and ketchup. Sharing the same plate were the fat fries. This was a meal requiring napkins. I'd have to venture a couple of steps to the counter to ask for napkins. By the time that I was in my car turning onto southbound Lamb Boulevard, it was with a satisfied impression of the original location. Fat Boy truly tips the scale when it comes to variety and good food. Ultimately when it comes to the Yelp scale, in my estimation the original Fat Boy weighs four stars. read more
