What a great experience. The Blue Skillet is tucked away in the corner of the shopping center of La Bonita and Ross shopping mall. The restaurant is bright clean and a nice size but does get busy. We were greeted right when we entered. Their menu is on the larger size and i wanted almost everything. I decided on the omelette and my friend ordered the chorizo omelette as well. Absolutely disgusting, the beans tasted like they have been sitting for days and the rice tastes so artificial it's ridiculous. The water tastes like toilet water. Despite the mixed reviews, I like this spot and my family loves it. It is a go to spot for a good hardy breakfast. I've been here twice recently and both times the place with jam packed! First time around I tried the Tennessee fried steak. Delicious! This time I had their green chilaquiles with steak and they were amazing! Steak cooked perfectly and the salsa verde was flavorful. Ask for their homemade hot sauce, it's a must! This is also my sister favorite spot for French toast. Really good. The chicken fried steak wasn't bad either. Was in the area looking for a breakfast spot, came across this restaurant. There was a long line on a Sunday. It appears to be a family owned, we had good service despite the fact it was busy. I ordered 1-2-3 biscuit and sausage gravy, it came with eggs and choice of meat bacon or sausage. I can say the gravy was delicious and the biscuit was soft. Food is always good. Staff is friendly and not over bearing, they allow you to enjoy your food. One drawback, hair is NOT tied up or back. Little dangles, baby hair and pieced left out of the ponytail are hairs that can fly and land anywhere. I would like to see everyone's hair tied up and tied back without exceptions. read more

I went yesterday (Wednesday) at noon. I ordered the 123 special which is a biscuit with gravy, 2 eggs and 3 sausage links. Now I have food poisoning.. that's all I ate yesterday so 100% sure it was from the food I consumed at Blue Skillet. The food was okay. Nothing special. Just the food alone I would rate it 2 stars, service 3 stars. The diner itself is okay, the mirrors were dirty, the booths are older, but overall an okay dinner (old school). I'd rate it 2 stars. Oatmeal should also include raisins and almonds. The old location on E. Charleston (same owner) offered a daily oatmeal special before 10am that included coffee, oatmeal a cup of fruit and toast for 9.99. Pancakes for my 3yr old undercooked $10? For reals! They replaced them but u would expect 2 pancakes not one if they bring you 2 to begin with. I received 1 after they replaced my baby's food. But when I flipped the pancake, BURNT!! Burnt pancake! The green chilaquiles were dry, so were the beans. But i spent $30 cause they "were nice" enough to take off the meal for my baby. This is definitely a locals spot because you can miss it from the street unless you know it's there. The Blue Skillet is on the corner of Nellis and Bonanza here the shuttered Kmart was. Tucked away in a little corner, you'll find it hidden away from the streets view. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. The food is always fresh and consistent. The delicious pancakes are always so buttery and fluffy, you don't even need any fruit or syrup to enjoy them. I love that they offer very similar dishes to some larger chain breakfast places at a better price. The staff is always very nice and attentive. The only down side is that this place is always full. There is a line and it's first come/first served. Come early and come hungry, this place is one you'll want to keep as your favorites. read more

The food here is really good but the service is not good at all. I didn't get her name but she has red hair & she needs better customer service. I had ordered the chocolate oreo pancakes & she brought me the wrong ones. When I told her that I had ordered the oreo ones she started arguing with me saying that I said chocolate chip pancakes. I repeated to her that I ordered the oreo pancakes & she was still arguing with me. I had asked her if I could get the oreo pancakes & she said she would have to charge me for both pancakes.
