Vegan options for days! Fat Boy's did not disappoint in the category of damn good comfort (not healthy) vegan eats. Food truck, turned somewhat brick & mortor (you've gotta go to understand), but great vibes nonetheless. After placing our orders at the walk up window, my husband and I decided to stay, sit and eat in their connecting building next door. The separate eating area was not traditional in that there were was no one present to wait on us, but the space provided everything we needed and more. There was a tv, games, drink machine, condiments, Togo plates, restrooms, and even a kiddie table. We actually appreciated the solitude and ability to grab what we need whenever we needed it without being "waited on". After playing a quick game of jenga, our food was brought over. I ordered the buffalo "chicken" wrap, and my husband the Philly cheesesteak, complete with an order of fries and fried okra, ALL VEGAN! Everything was delicious! Period! This place is amazing. I had the Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls and fries. If everything else is as good as this I'll be making this my new favorite lunchtime spot. Went to eat there some months ago and there were tons of vegan options, went back today and there was very little options. I tried to order the vegan Philly, they didn't have it, no Philly egg rolls, no vegan potato crisps . I ordered a burrito with BBQ & vegan Mac and cheese, instead of letting me know they did not have vegan Mac they just made my burrito and omitted the vegan Mac, & when I asked them if it was supposed to be on there they had to go make it, which took another 20 minutes. I've had almost everything off the menu here and many of their seasonal/monthly items. They are always amazing. Their tacos are my go to in the summer. They are loaded, cool, and refreshing. We've had them delivered multiple times and once a Togo order - there food has always been exceptional! We've used various delivery services for various restaurants - and we've NEVER had any issues with their food. It's truly fantastic! If your vegetarian - they have this veggie burger that is the best I've ever had. And I grew up on them. I actually like them better then the impossible burger! I got the fat boy burrito which is a delicious bacon cheeseburger in a burrito. My wife got the patty melt which was good, but they did not follow directions and put Swiss cheese and thousand island on it. My son got the buffalo chicken wrap and said it was good but needed more chicken. My daughter got the Mac and cheese that looked liked boxed Kraft with extra cheese on it. She wasn't impressed. She said the nuggets and fries were good. I didn't like the air conditioner blowing hot air on me as I ordered, but overall the food was good and if I'm in the area I will stop again. Amazing food. It was so busy and cold the day I went, I had a serious wait getting food, and the cold was murderous. It is a food truck with a small, unheated(? Barely heated?) room. This is the only reason I am knocking a star. I imagine that I will try it a second time and update it to a full 5 stars. I cannot wait to try more of the food items. I got the worse fully loaded bbq chicken baked potato ever. My chicken was mushy and all stuck together like a patty (I'm still trying to figure out how that's possible when it's pulled chicken) there wasn't any bbq sauce incorporated which made the potato very dry so I had to use the sour cream as a sauce to combat the dryness. IDK what has happened. When the location was on Standifer Gap the food was BANGIN! DELECIOUS! You could count on the food being cooked right and the quality right. Now it's hit or miss meaning you may have a good meal or you may not have a good meal. The Customer Service has always been great so no complaints on that. But my food was horrible and I didn't want to drive all the way back to return it so I dealt with it. The wings were a hit- both Thai and BBQ. The egg rolls were good as were the chicken tenders and burger. The fat boy burrito was forgettable, but wasn't terrible. The fries were soggy and clearly weren't fried in the correct temperature of oil. The biggest problem, though, was with what they omitted from my large order. I ordered an appetizer platter with 5 choices. The person on the phone even read the order back to me. However when I received my order they only included 3 of the 5- left off cheese curds and green beans. Maybe they ran out. But they should've communicated that instead of not saying anything. I let the employee choose for me, so I had a bbq pork sandwich and fries. Wish I had gotten a burger! The pork was just average and I dont like the bread they use. But the fries....OMG, the fries!! Best I've ever had, and I don't usually like fries. Their fries are delicious. They come with a dipping sauce which is also excellent, but you can eat the fries just by themselves. Yes, the wait is a bit long but soooo worth it! Everything is made to order (no soggy food!) and really good! I had their cheese stuffed Doritos and a burger that was on the special that day (it had Mac and cheese) and both were phenomenal and filling. I also tried their apple pie eggrolls and although they were made fresh and smelled amazing, I personally found them to be a bit on the sour side. After driving by this food truck a few times. I decided to stop by there today for lunch. Both my son and brother in law raved about it. Being a native NY'er I love patty melts!!! And this one does not disappoint! It was delicious, as good as any I've had. Up north they are made on sourdough bread or rye but here it was on fresh toasted Texas bread. Nice and juicy, cheese perfectly done with onions that dont crush the taste of the burger. I read in a previous review that the fries were good. They were BETTER than good! Mediocre food at best. The young lady taking orders was very friendly and polite to say the least, but she, for me, was the best part of the visit. I ordered a smoked chicken enchilada stack and my wife the frito pie. The food took a bit too long to get to us when I realized what we received for our order. My wife's frito or was good , but that's a hard dish to mess up. Mine was another story though. Cold, bland and unappetizing. The chicken barley had any smoke flavor and the cheese sauce left much to be desired. It was basically a few tortillas with tasteless chicken between them covered by a forgettable queso sauce. I ordered Buffalo Wings to go. I opened the box and a odor came out so I was thinking maybe it was the sauce. Ate a flat and it look yellowish and dried out it tasted it funny. Ok 1 bad wing. I get home open the box to eat and tried another wing. It was not good either. I convinced myself try it with the dressing which I am thinking it's blue cheese or ranch. It's sour cream in both containers. I called the restaurant and told them and the gentleman said to bring it back. I tell them nit only do they taste funny they smell funny. The box was still full with the wings. I requested a refund he said I can make you some more. I told him I didn't want anymore because I don't want to get sick off of chicken. Here is where I became livid. He ask the female manager to try one of the wings off of the plate that I had eaten off of. She said oh no these taste great. How disgusting. At this point he is suggesting I come back later. I knew they were not giving me a refund. I told them I want be be back. That was my first and last time. I've only had good experiences here. This is a "food truck" that is definitely not going anywhere without a lot of work. And it now has a dining room right next to it for days where the weather isn't optimal to go along with the outdoor seating. This place is bbq/Mexican/burgers is the best way I can describe it and it's all amazing so far. The portions are huge except for the tacos. (They really should give you more than three tacos to match the portions of everything else, but it's the most sensible thing I've seen so far). Love the buffalo quesadilla and blue ox burger. Just tried some special pumpkin egg rolls that were mind bending. I don't see the item I ordered on the menu, but it was something like a veggie quesadilla. I think my husband ordered a chicken quesadilla. We didn't care for either one...they were greasy, over-cooked so much that I couldn't decipher what veggies were there--it was smashed and all smushed together in one messy mess. Now as I go over the menu, I shouldn't have been surprised at the grease and mush since that about looks to be the typical fare. I hate to leave such a negative review, but maybe it will warn others out there who don't go for grease either. One adult ordered a burger hold the tomato and lettuce, it was served with tomato and lettuce. 3. One adult's order they didn't even make, started working on it after the rest of the adults were served and we asked where her food was. 4. The 3 adult meals they did bring, they brought before the kids' meals and it was 5 minutes later that they brought the kids food. Adults don't want to eat while the kids are sitting there waiting for their food. 5. The mac n cheese was barely warm. 6. The fries were served with ketchup packets sitting on them... completely unsanitary, who knows how many times those packets had been handled. I don't usually post anything about anybody business negative or positive but, I think people should know this. I was just at Fat Boys Roadside Eats on Apison Pike in Ooltewah TN. There were two dogs on the front porch which I assume the dogs were friendly because who in their right mind would have dogs in front of their place of business if there was a possible chance of them barking, charging, or chasing any customer. Once I stepped on the porch the black dog jumped up and started charging toward me and then the brown dog came right behind the black dog, they both chased me off the porch where I fell backwards in their parking lot beside my car, bruised my elbow and my knee and my butt. I was so startled I could not get up, some lady who I assume she worked in Fat Boys came out and she had to help me up. She did ask if I was okay and said she would just give me the food I had ordered, but when she came to put the order in the car, she said she would just give me a 15% discount off my order. I guess that's what they call "Good Customer Service" for their dogs charging and chasing a customer until they fall backward in their parking lot, so I told her to keep her food, and I will NEVER come back to her place of business again. So, people please be award of these dogs because they are not friendly to everyone. read more
