Stopped in for brunch on our way to Portland and we're so glad we did. We ended up enjoying this brunch over the next day's breakfast hands down. I loved that they offer fried green tomatoes and skillets, stuff that's not typically available in all breakfast/brunch joints. I opted for the vegetarian sausage Beans Wallace while the hubby opted for the Sabu Burger. Both were pretty darn good. You wouldn't be able to tell that the veggie sausage was in fact vegetarian. The only thing I would do differently if I ordered my skillet again is to ask for them to prepare the home fried potatoes extra crispy. All in all, it was a really great pit stop and I highly recommend. They even had an adoption event outside with some really sweet doggies that need homes. My 2 faves in one place - delicious brunch food and sweet lovable doggies!

Let me start by saying this.... This place has breakfast starters!!! - Brilliant!! Why more restaurants don't have Starters for breakfast is beyond me. So for Starters... we got the freshly grilled Blueberry Muffin, Cinnamon Roll, and Apple Cider Donu! Fantastic!! For our meals I got the Sabu - Think Double Smash Burger, add pulled pork and pickled onions and you have a party. Did I mention they have Sweet Potato Tots??!!! When a restaurant has sweet tots, it's a must side!! California Breakfast Burrito - steak, eggs and add some French !! Yes, please. The French toast - to quote Mrs. B - this is almost as good as my mom's. She never said that about my French toast!! Overall great visit, and since Luke is a freshman we have 4 more years to enjoy!!

Oh man, we chose this place because of yelp. Good choice. 4 of us went, I got the skillet Danny boy which was amazing. 2nd got the same as an omelette, which was fabulous. 3rd got shakshuka and practically licked the plate. The accompanying fried bread (that is not what they called it but indeed what it tasted like) was decadent. 4th got traditional French toast. 3 thick slices and he loved it so much. I would again order the Danny boy skillet. Doesn't taste like corned beef hash, it tastes like it is just corned beef. Very decadent. I tasted the Danny boy omelette and felt it was a bit over salted, but owner of omelette loved it nonetheless. He took half home, too. We started with 2 blueberry muffins right out of the oven for 4 of us. Almost couldn't finish them. They are big and light and very very good. Wait staff was excellent. Room was pretty loud, busy, bustling. Not a place to lounge around for sure, but we walked a bit outside after. It was REALLY great to go here. I think a big part of it, is that it seemed clear that the people who work here like the restaurant a LOT, and really like each other. I'm guessing owners and managers are nice people. I'm not just saying that cause owner is a deadhead either. Def going back there. We traveled just over an hour to go there cause of the yelp reviews. Well worth the trip. TY!

We have enjoyed many meals from FDK, mostly takeout. The food is always FANTASTIC and unique. And there is something for everyone on the menu, but we almost always enjoy one of their amazing specials. They are also friendly and remember their customers, which is super impressive considering the volume they must get. Definitely a spot I'd recommend everyone to check out! read more

Small, crowded, kind of loud. The food is good. A little on the expensive side for what you get, but still a good deal. Seems like a lot of people eating there are KNOWN. We weren't, and it showed (to us). I would go back, but I haven't yet. read more

The BEST breakfast place on any block. I started going to Fat Dog back in 2017 when I lived in the area, i've since moved but I make it a priority to travel back whenever I can. The owners are so kind and in the short time I lived in NH, they made me feel like family. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This is a no nonsense kinda place, meaning it's gonna be difficult to get anything that's not cooked with lotsa butter and love. I'm not the kind of person who usually digs this cuisine, but I can appreciate it. I had the joonbug dish, which is basically a gluten free version of eggs Benedict - the English muffin is replaced with a black bean patty, which was really tasty. Topped with the normal hollandaise sauce and tomatoes, it was a heavy dish. The home fries are also pretty greasy but crispy, so it's like a treat! I gotta say that when my dish first came out, there was some corn beef hash on my plate and in my potatoes, so we had to send it back. I felt bad about it because they are so sweet here! But they brought me a new one cooked without any meat grease, and an additional side of potatoes! So yea be a little cautious coming here if you're a vegetarian. They do have options, but I might go for the sweeter side on a future visit. Prices average, and like I alluded to before, its home cooking at its finest. Fat dog us exceptional in every way. The service is fabrastic. The servers are warm, friendly, inviting, and give all around exceptional service. The food is delicious, all fresh and homemade. There is nothing canned in this gem. I was absolutely blown away. Usually breakfast spots are hustle and bustle and a little chaotic, the energy in this restaurant is controlled calming, despite the volume they do. This was the best breakfast experience i have ever had, even without the mimosas. Thank you Fatdog Kitchen!!! read more

Awesome little place in the middle of Dover. I got the Fat Elvis which is french toast with peanut butter, Nutella, bananas, and candied bacon. My girlfriend got The Abby which is an eggs Benedict along with corned beef hash on a toasted english muffin. Service was quick and the waitresses were very friendly. Only complaint was that it is quite small so we had to wait for a bit but it was certainly worth it in the end. read more

My first time in today, and the door opens into what was once someone's living room, remodeled to a diner. It's small. The waiting area is the lobby of the ballroom next door. The food was worth the wait. Glad to have found this little gem, and I will be back again! read more

Had what was almost an above average breakfast. Wait staff was very attentive. Owner's wife was very sweet. The corned beef was pretty good, not enough hollandaise for a Benedict, and this isn't something I've ever said before so that tells you something. Eggs weren't poached perfectly but they were ok, and the muffin was just fine. The black coffee was good for what it was, and the waitstaff brought out water when I asked in a timely manner which is more than what I expect from these busy brunch places. What was not fine was the trash that made a joke that amounted to alluding Asians eating dog, and more than half the restaurant laughing about it, and no one working in the restaurant saying anything except laugh with everyone else. I won't penalize the restaurant for that, but see that as it is. You would never see that tolerated where I'm from in Nor Cal or even most of MA where I've been. So if you're Asian wanting breakfast food, you might want to reconsider. If you're an average white person from New England you're good to go. read more

Best breakfast/lunch place in town. Tiny and quaint. Paul is very creative and always mixing the menu up. My pugs and I love coming to hang outside to eat. The Mac and cheese hot dog is the best lunch special and the fruity French toast is the best breakfast item for me personally. Prices are on par for sure. read more

This place rocks! Great food, friendly service and reasonably priced selections. What more can you ask for... oh yeah, pet friendly sidewalk seating during the warmer months. My wife and I recently tried FDK for the first time and we very impressed. By all means, if you've never tried them, be sure to check them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I could cry every time...no BS, just killer food. Cool couple, too. This place is "The Real Deal" Holyfield. After having been at least once a week for the last 9 months I can vouch that their consistent excellence is rivaled by no one. This is what happens when a prodigy chef takes breakfast seriously, instead of scoffing at it and pretending it's the business of simpletons. I've never actually had a 'go-to-place' until moving to the Seacoast and Fat Dog is now that officially that place. When family or friends come in town, it's always the first stop for a good meal and great service. The food is literally incredible, and for the price, it simply can't be beat. Idk how you can make a $9 burger as good as they do, but i'd be damned for you to convince me that there's something better to eat around here, or even in the New England area.. hell I'll say it, even in America... Come eat here, you won't be disappointed. read more

We went to breakfast on a late Sunday morning and had no wait. There was a longer wait for the food than I would have thought as there are only a small number of tables in the restaurant. But it was worth the wait! I had the Eggs Benedict which I ordered poached medium and they were done perfectly. The ham was freshly sliced and the hollandaise was so yummy! My son ordered scrambled eggs and sausage patties which he said were delicious. The potatoes were very well seasoned as well. My only complaint was service. I asked for water but the waitress only brought water for me. And I had to ask for a coffee refill but she only had a half of a cup left in the pot. And she never returned with more. read more

We drove from Merrimack NH to Dover to have a breakfast at Fat Dog kitchen based on their great reviews. Environment was extremely friendly and the owner Stephanie makes you fell home!! The is tiny but full of love and food was unbelievable!!! The corned beef is homemade and was delicious! We also had the Fat Elvis for "desert" and it takes like heaven!! My husband and I went here for Sunday brunch and we're able to sit outside. I ordered the fat burger and my husband the Dundee eggs Benedict. The burger had great flavor, but was a bit well done for my tastes a the bun was a little over toasted. The eggs Benedict was very tasty, but could have used more hollandaise sauce. We both really loved the home fries and the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely visit again sometime! read more

Whoooo. It doesn't stand out too much from the exterior so you might miss it walking the street but goddamn it is good. Even just their simple sausage, egg, cheese breakfast sandwich is incredible. It has a grilled English muffin, and well grilled with butter not just lazily toasted. The egg was done to perfection, soft interior but not runny. Their lunch sandwiches are fantastic as well. I have only seen their big breakfast plates come out but, my word, they have made me curse the fact that I wasn't sitting down to eat. They look and smell amazing. read more

Phenomenal food and service. I love coming here, it's a definite Dover gem. The service is always extremely pleasant, and the food is top notch. I usually order the Nittany breakfast sandwich with home fries. I am always satisfied! I once wanted a breakfast sandwich to go, and they were so kind as to let me make a substitution on the sandwich that I was really craving, as well as put iced coffee in a to go cup for me. We were very lucky to stumble upon this place when we were in town! The selection of unique and tasty breakfast foods is outstanding! I wish I had a place like this close to my house! I had something that I saw in one of the pictures which was eggs Benedict with roast beef hash that was out of this world!!! I think it was called Aramis? My son had a huge and extremely delicious omelette and my wife had a more traditional breakfast with eggs toast and bacon! Everything was truly outstanding! I hope we get back there soon!! read more

This is a great little place in downtown Dover. The specials are really special - completely unique. The standard offerings are all delicious including the Fat Elvis. If you are near Dover and need some breakfast or lunch, come on in for a bite. Parking is a challenge but totally worth it. read more

Texturewise, I really liked the thickness and pliability, but this came at the expense of some crispness. I'll take that trade but same may not. I also really liked the bun, which is a seeded briochy model that's less dense than what I've had previously at Tuckaway. Overall, very good burger. Gimme some juiciness and it's a great burger. Fries: They come standard with the burgers and chicken. A small order, but enough to get by and nicely done. Many fries options with various add-ons. You can also get onion strings, even though they're not on the menu. Shake: I went with chocolate. Not as fudgy as some I've had, but tasted very natural, with the milk flavor coming through, no shortage of chocolate, and a consistently that's thick but very drinkable. Good accompaniment to the burger. Chicken Tenders: I split a trio that came with fries and choice of sauce. These were huge and flattened, kinda like a chicken parm. Very crisp, well-seasoned, and juicy in spots, not-so-juicy in other spots. Good flavor on its own and in tandem with our hot honey (generous cup), dry rub (ditto), and both. Friendly staff throughout. Looking forward to coming back.

I have been there several times now in the 5 weeks since they opened and have been wowed on multiple occasions. I was prompted to put this review up after having perhaps , the best breakfast sandwich ever !!
