I don't know where to start, the friendly inviting staff, the most authentic pub menu I have seen in our area, outdoor seating area with the clover fire pit, or the new bottoms up pour system on their cider and drafts. Sat at the bar and was welcomed immediately. I love the variety of appetizers. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was excellent with a homemade cocktail sauce that horseradish lovers will surely really enjoy. Next it was on to the Reuben with homemade chips. Fresh cut corned beef grilled to perfection with a soft pickled kraut, not to mention the dressing. Out of this world! I couldn't even finish it there was so much, but I definitely took the rest home for a midnight snack. Washed it all down with a great Wyder's pear cider. I love ciders and its great to know there is somewhere to go to get one on tap. Definitely makes a difference in the taste. Their new "bottom up" delivery system made it fresh and crisp. We couldn't find the restaurant we were looking for in the area but ran across the Fat Irish and decided to give it a try after confirming that the outside seating was dog friendly. Very cute little place clean and looked freshly redone. Food was exceptional and plentiful and the waiter was so friendly and offered water to our four-legged baby. Made a to-go order, and even though there was a little bit of miscommunication about my order, it didn't even matter because of how quickly the staff fixed it. Fish & chips was a huge portion and delicious...so was the tarter sauce! Soup.....The bread was perfect and toasted just right. The clam chowder was "ok" but maybe that's because I felt like it was a little watery. Lots of stuff in it though, very filling, and tasted pretty good. We were stuck in our vacation house on 3/20/2020 with no close food options close by, so we tried our luck with the Fat Irish Kitchen & Pub. The menu and pictures on yelp looked good so we gave it a try. There was 6 of us and we had cheese curds, hot wings, fish and chips, and savage fries. Man, the food was really good and we were happy that they were open. We couldn't sit in the dinning room, but we ended being able to eat outside the restaurant across the street. Prior to driving up to pick up our food, we ordered over the phone and i'm glad we did. They only had 1 cook that day and orders were taking longer than normal. So if you do try this place out, the food is really good and the people working are really nice. read more

We stopped by this place on our road trip back to LA. The restaurant is clean and the staff is really nice. We got the cheese steak sandwich and clam chowder in a bread bowl. They were both really good! The prices are super fair and if you get there after 8pm they have happy hour. They also have a patio area with a fire pit so you can enjoy your drinks outside too. If you're there for drinks and boisterous camraderie, it's great! Dinner, not so great. Hardly any fish in the fish and chips. Tons of sauerkraut in the Reuben, Shepherds Pie was horrible. Service is super slow. We were there on a Saturday night...6:00-ish. The bar was being served every 10 minutes...our food took about 40 minutes, and they were simple orders. This is a really cool place in the harbor with a very attentive staff. Our bartenders were awesome, but the food and the beer not so much. Happy hours beers were $2, but they were served warm. The glass was warm and the beer out of the tap wasn't much better. As for the food? Bruschetta was served cold and the potato skins tasted very old and bland. We're from New England and living in the Bay Area and I have to say this sourdough bread bowl with New England clam chowder is the best I've ever had. Fresh tangy bread cooked just right, with hot flavorful chowder with lots of tasty bits in it. Wow. All other meals were enjoyed add well- chicken sandwich, burger, turkey club. We had the Irish Lord and Beef Dunker sandwiches - they are huge and amazing flavors!! We also had a bread bowl of clam chowder that was one of the best ever! And finally the calamari was outstanding. Local brews on tap and excellent Pink Lemonade (has my daughter addicted) All I can say is that we will be back, again and again anytime we are in the Brookings - Harbour area! read more

This place was okay. Ordered the fish and chips...not bad. A little greasy....the waiter was friendly. But I was a little disappointed....I thought it would be a little nicer inside the place.
