Pleasantly surprised. my wife had the cheese quesadilla which is one of the better quesadillas i've tasted...perfectly cooked. I had the 3 layer hero sandwich which I thoroughly enjoyed. The potato salad that came with it was poor and without taste. If there is a dessert menu, we never saw it. service was top notch and she made time to answer a few questions. First and last time here. Went in for breakfast around 0830 on Wednesday, June 1, 2026. Stood at the host stand for 7 minutes before a server yelled from across the room for us to sit along the wall. Not the way to greet a customer! We sat and saw about 20 tables full and less than half of them had any food on the table. There may have only been the one server. We decided to leave since we anticipated a long wait for food. Looking at other reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, this place has really poor service and attitude. Let me start with the good things. The location is wonderful as you can look out at the ocean and that's always a plus. The hobo breakfast was a generous serving and quite tasty. I suggest asking for their green salsa to top it off. The biscuits and gravy half order was also generous although the gravy could use a little more flavor. The food generally was very good and our service was excellent. But they really need to address the condition of the restaurant and the bathroom. The booths are obviously worn and one was completely unavailable because the seats were missing. Worse than that was the condition of the bathroom. We ate breakfast at 9:30 AM and it was obvious the bathroom had not been cleaned from the night before. It was disgusting. It always gives one a slightly uncomfortable feeling about the overall attention to cleanliness elsewhere. I hope the owners will make an effort to bring the facility up to par with the food. We were at the Elk Valley Casino in Northern California; went to go have breakfast and we were in shock about how much a three item omelette was and what it cost for each additional items just to build a veggie omelette. But the server was very kind and told us about Foxy's restaurant in Brookings, OR and how great their omelettes are. And she was everything and all that right about the omelettes. The restaurant was packed full at 10am with a long waiting list, but they moved through it pretty quickly. The wait staff were all rushing around getting everybody what they need. A great breakfast spot at the harbor. Has the atmosphere of a nice beach-y diner. Visited family in Brookings and they suggested this place for breakfast. Boyfriend ordered the country fried steak and eggs with home fries and I ordered the cowboy with Hashbrowns. Both dishes were delicious and more than enough for 2 people. A full for a country fried steak has 2 pieces and a half has 1 piece. Even with the half, it's a lot of food. The gravy was good. Service was good despite the place being busy. OH My God! A peanut Butter Bacon burger!!! I last tasted one of these gems at the Henry Ford restaurant in Michigan. What a surprise to find on at the coast. My hat is off the chef. it was delightful. I was almost in a food coma after that burger. and the crinkle fries were the perfect side car! They have the hard part down. The food is delicious- Several occasions at the front counter without acknowledgment- plenty of tables available and it can take a while to have a seat. The furniture is worn and our table had a hole on the seat as big as my rear. They weren't very busy and after about 10 minutes, they finally took our order. The food came rather quickly, and it was excellent. It took minutes to receive some catchup and almost as if we were such a big inconvenience for asking. We really didn't see the waitress after finishing our food for over 10 minutes so we went to the front to pay. The waitress at the front counter rudely asked my father to move and because he didn't hear her she became more aggressive. I shared we were there just to pay the bill because we haven't seen our waitress and she responded that we weren't one her tables so it really wasn't for her to handle. This happens consistently. It's hard to describe how unorganized this place is. If they are not busy expect to wait 20 minutes to get seated. Another 20 minutes to see a waitress and god knows how long to get your food. You may wait another 30 minutes to pay your bill I'm not exaggerating. This has happened to me 3 times. You'll be greeted with a sign that says don't yell at us, were doing the best we can. They know they have horrible service but nothing ever changes. You'll pay extra to use a credit card. Expect a 2 hour visit for most meals. I feel for the employees because their owner obviously doesn't care about them. But they are so war fatigued that they are rude. The first bad visit we had we had a dinner party of 6. Everyone else got their dinner in a timely manner except my mom. She didn't get her dinner until we were walking OUT the door. They kind of apologized, but certainly didn't take any money off the bill either for her inconvenience. We were shocked. The next visit, again mom, ordered a children's cheeseburger with potato salad as a side. They ran out of potatoe salad. Our very nice waitress assured us they were making more. So we waited. By the time she finally got her "potato salad", she was done with her other food. The Other waitress basically walked by and threw the potato salad on the table and didn't say a word to any of us. Mom tried and said yuck. It had Lots of garlic in it. And it was instant mashed potatoes with some parsley in it. Not potato salad. No one offered her a different side. The food could be made of solid gold and I would still not rate it above a single star. Honestly at some point I feel like they need to pay the customer to eat here. And it's not that the service is bad, or at least that's not THE issue. The issue is functional deficiency. They really need to sort out the business end of this and make themselves operationally efficient. If they focused in on getting this place to work effectively, improved turn-around etc, then the service would improve since the staff wouldn't feel overwhelmed. The food would seem better. All things flow from being operationally efficient and effective and my experience coupled with other reviews citing similar issues with wait and service tells me that's the pain point for this place. read more

This is everything you would expect from an independently owned diner. Since it's right near the water, many of the tables have great little window views of the harbor. There is also an attached store that you can shop in with trinkets and souvenirs. The food was solid diner food. It was enjoyable enough. Where we had some issues was the wait time. They were busy, but not overly so. We came on a weekend morning and waited a while before being seated. The area in which we were sitting in had some tables that had food, but many were sitting around, waiting to order. And we waited, and waited, and waited. We did get water right away so that was great, but just trying to get coffee and juice took a long time. Some of the tables were getting a little bit frustrated because not only had an order not been placed, but we didn't even have drinks besides water. And one of the waitresses got a little snappy when somebody said something at a different table mentioned the wait. When we finally got our waitress (a different one), everything improved a lot. She was efficient and friendly, and once we placed our order, things started moving. It was just that initial wait and the other waitress who was working in the area. impacted our experience. This is not a turn off. I think it's solid food and a solid establishment. I would definitely come back to try it again. read more

Not very pleased. Service is very bad, waiting time 20+ minutes just for acknowledgement and a menu. Coffee cups were dirty with old coffee splatters and silverware was spotty. The food is sometimes good and sometimes bad depending on the mood of the chef. The owner Jamie never has enough wait staff and she and another waitress work the floor, deliver meals etc. Also I have to say with an ocean view, right on the beach, the windows are so dirty with kids grimy hand prints and other smears so the view is unpleasant. It has been about a year since we had lunch here. We decided to give it another try, since the last visit was underwhelming. Service was slow. If you are in a hurry or expect prompt service, just skip it. It shouldn't be a 15 min wait to order food. My hot pastrami sandwich came on bread. Historically those are served on a roll. My fries were barely warm and the thick sliced pastrami was very salty. A man came in and sat directly behind us, and proceeded to listen to his phone with the volume up. So rude! Nothing was said to him by the waitress. That's what an ear bud is for. I was so annoyed by the entire thing. I wouldn't give it another try or recommend it either. I also witnessed a customer getting up two different times to get tableware then hot sauce. It's too bad that the restaurant doesn't match its location. read more
