I had the pleasure and privilege to partake in a soft open with a large group of people whom all wanted to share, so my first experience with Fat Irish was fairly all inclusive. I, myself, had the Betty Tribute - a crispy chicken sandwich with jalapeno slaw served on fresh baked roll. It was fabulous! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was able to cut my large sandwich into fours to share with others at the table. With everyone at my table eating family-potluck style and excited to share and try new things, I was also able to try the Clam Chowder (thick and creamy with a hearty helping of clams and served in a mini bread bowl - completely delicious), the Shrimp Cocktail (as the menu warns, the sauce is head clearing because of the generous portion of horseradish in it - I personally love horseradish and couldn't eat it fast enough, but it was a little too spicy for others at my table; we were split fairly down the middle of who thought it was perfect and who thought it was spicy, so it really will be dependent on your taste buds), as well as The Ham Dunker AND The Beef Dunker (both were generously piled high with tender meat, peppers and onions and served with a rich au jus). There were several people at my table who so thoroughly enjoyed their dishes that they refused to give anyone else even one bite - despite our constant asking and scowling - so I can only imagine that the Jalapeno Steamer Clams (which she literally drank all the broth out after the clams were gone), the Grilled Salmon Caesar (which I was shocked to see such a generous portion of salmon atop of - usually you get skimped, and they are definitely NOT stingy), and the Irish Lord (which looked massive and all I could hear was "mmmm" as he ate) must all be as fantastic as the rest of the food we tried, seeing as their rightful owner's backed out of our "everyone shares pact." The atmosphere was lively and fun, the decor personalized not just because of the theme, but because as he told us, the owner Ryan hand picked and photographed everything hanging on the walls. I personally felt very comfortable in such a positively charged atmosphere. Last, but definitely not least, the staff was incredibly friendly and were openly asking for suggestions and criticism because they WANT this to be a huge success as well as a place that people look forward to coming to for a good time. I see quite a few people referencing Superfly, the owner's other restaurant. I would just like to say that the comparison is quite unfair. If you want to eat at Superfly, please GO to Superfly. We all love Superfly, it's fantastic - but to come into a brand new restaurant and do nothing but compare it to something that is already established is a bit silly. The menus are only similar in that they are ridiculously affordable and have huge portions - other than that, the style of food they are serving is completely different, the culinary inspiration behind the menu choices is not even in the same wheelhouse. I believe the ONLY thing that is the same on both menus is that your kid has the option of getting grilled cheese. To me, having two restaurants in the same small town where both are affordable and offering generous portions of good food where neither is in competition with one another - that's pretty amazing. Keep up the good work, guys! I know I will be back, I WILL get to try those clams - and I've also got my eye on that hash and garlic bread. read more

As per my usual practice, I consulted Yelp before selecting a restaurant and am delighted that we chose to dine here. The reviews accurately reflected the quality of the establishment. Upon entering the premises at approximately 1:45 pm on a Saturday, we noticed the Fat Irish Kitchen & Pub merchandise beyond the main door and proceeded through the next glass door into the restaurant, where seating was flexible. The establishment maintained high standards of cleanliness, and the waitresses were uniformly friendly. Our waitress, Jo, excelled in attitude and customer service, meriting a perfect score of 5. Our experience was delightful, with delectable cuisine and Bloody Marys that stood out - the drink's substantial nature made it almost a meal in itself. Additionally, the clam chowder was outstanding. With exceptional service and food, our experience warranted a 10 out of 10 rating, and we would eagerly return. read more

I can't even begin to express how amazing I think this place is. They have a warm and inviting energy, the drinks are AMAZING and the food was great! The staff were all super friendly and laid back, which just helped with the warm-inviting-feel I mentioned before. Another thing that is pretty cool about this pub is that they've brought a bit of authentic Celtic......charm, for lack of a better word, into the place. I'd love to see more, but what they've got so far is pretty sweet. I've been back enough times to know that it wasn't just a fluke or a certain bartender or waitress working that night that made it so cool. The place is consistent and I recommend it to everyone I know. Keep up the good work guys. read more

I got mine with the side salad (really nice greens with tomatoes, hard boiled egg, carrots, and onion) he got the potato wedges (crispy and delicious). Hubby ordered fish and chips and popcorn shrimp. I ordered the breadbowl. Hubby said his food was amazing. My chowder in the breadbowl was also delicious. The bread was toasted just right- the potatoes inside the chowder were diced so it felt they kinda melted in your mouth. The clams were really delicious too! Service is hard for me to gauge but honestly I think it's pretty good since they packed everything with care! Ambience I can't answer but I will have to visit this place before we head out to SoCal!
