I came to the bar to watch a Game 7 hockey game. Requested it be put on. After the first period they turned the game off and changed the channels from a live nhl game 7 and a live baseball game to omegaball, interviews with no sound, and a replay of a golf match. Came in on a Tuesday night not busy. The vibe was cool, the games were very reasonable so it's not ripping you off. The service was nice and super spacey. The food was actually very good!!! We had hamburgers, fries, wings, California burrito and tator tots. The only complaint were the wings. They weren't crunchy and had a strong vinegar taste. But to each their own. There was originally a mixup & we ended up w/fried zucchini sticks which were decent (& gratis). Husband ordered meat-lovers pizza & I ordered a supreme pizza. They were 12" & could easily feed 3-4 people, but we wanted leftovers. Pizzas were seriously good. Nice crust and lots of toppings. One star deduction for their burgers. There were 2 All-American burgers ordered in our group and they were a bit lackluster. Neither finished more than half & didn't even box them up to take home. Went here for a holiday party for work. When we heard where we were going we weren't too sure what to think since some of my co-workers had not been here before-including me. It seemed spacious enough to fit my co-workers and we had a really nice time. The employees prepared a good selection of food for us and continued to bring out more pizza. The food was quite tasty and plentiful. It seems like they have a cool mix of things to do there like bowling and games. Very unique place to hang! I love Fat Joe's but today I had my daughter stop on her way home from work and pick up food and it was less then par. My fried pickles spears looked over cooked and they were half breaded and stuck together. The rest of our order was good. We got pizza which is always on point. Loaded potatoe wedges and tater tots. My husband got a turkey burger and my daughter got wings. I ordered more food then we would eat so I could have leftovers!!! Just very disappointed the one thing I was looking forward to earing right away were horrible. If I was at the location I would have sent them back and had them remade. This a great new spot that opened a few months ago in downtown Oside! Nice open atmosphere with plenty of seating. The place is loaded with old school arcade games, a mini bowling lane and an ice hockey table. Perfect to bring the kids and grab a bite to eat or to stop by with friends and have a drink and play a game or two. I had the chicken wings and a "no name" beer. The wings were really meaty and tasted great! Matter of fact they ended up all over my shirt. Lol The beer was a really good IPA! They had lots of beers on tap and a pretty good looking menu. I could only give them 5 stars,but really, they got 10 out of 5 stars!! We are from out of town. The kids wanted Red Robin - I said, "Nope, find something local," and Fat Joe's did not disappoint!! First, everything is fresh and local. They don't have any freezers or microwaves. They either make it in-house or source local. The burgers, pizza, fries, and Carne asada fries were all 10 out of 10. I doubt you can go wrong with anything on the menu! Second, the atmosphere is great. Arcades, air hockey, and other games for kids. TV's all over the place, so if there is a sports game you want to watch, my guess is it will be on. Third, and unheard of today was the prices. Extremely reasonable considering how much inflation has gone up as of late. Family of 6 was $100 out the door. Any place else would have been $150. Finally , and the best part is the owner. Nicest guy in the world. He was extremely personable talking to everyone in the restaurant like they were best friends and maybe they were, but he had never met us and chatted it up like old friends who hadn't seen each other in a couple years. He was super nice to my 8 year old daughter, complimented her on her earrings, and then hooked her up with some quarters to play video games. We are currently putting on the tattoos she won! Its summer time its getting busy, fast forward my husband placed an order. Tacos for me and salad for him, well my tacos came before the salad.. I ate the tacos, even reordered a drink ,still no salad. you have one guy running bar, taking orders he's doing it all. But it doesn't help when customers come to you and stand there for acknowledgement. Only to be overlooked while you chat it up with the locals... that where order comes into play. Have your friends/regulars have a seat let you work. when it settles down , then have conversations.. if staff is low let the customers now, folks getting out and expecting service and acknowledgement that thleir there and wanted to be treated as such.. what needs to happen in the kitchen , the kitchen needs to bring food out.. if their that busy. Then got his friends that wanna help but the horseplay with strangers , read before before you play with them..in the end Nobody wants a lukewarm salad.. it was just a bad experience, that we had to pay for literally.. Fat Joe's is a wonderful family restaurant. Service is good. The food comes out quick and efficiently. Pizza is above average, I usually like a thicker doughy crust and they're pretty good on that. The wings are again, above average. Better than the chain wing spots and better than most other pizza places. Plenty of beers on tap. Lots of TVs. Last time I was there was for the NCAA men's basketball final. Overall a great local family restaurant, and I haven't even mentioned the games! Lots of arcade and pinball machines to play, obviously the kids love it. Lastly, the prices are reasonable. I'd actually say Fat Joe's is a deal. Cool spot with arcade games and a small bowling area. Good for all ages! They have long table benches for bigger groups and high top tables by the bar. I love the concept of the place, although, it would have been better if the arcade games were by the benches, so kids won't be running around the bar area. Lots of TV around the place, great for watching games! --- the arcade prices, are way cheaper than chuck e cheese's and of course dave and busters, they have a good amount games ( check pictures) Will try the food next visit and update my review, but the prices are reasonable. Which I must admit was a surprise as at first glance it simply appears to be another 90s era throwback pizza joint. But they 100% delivered on food. I ordered the jalapeño bacon burger and was very pleasantly surprised when what I was served was a juicy, delicious and FRESH burger patty on a buttery brioche roll, fresh greens, thick bacon, and fresh sliced jalapeño. Absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the Carne Fries- and again a notch above what you might expect. The carne was fresh, thick cut, and charred to the perfect balance of juicy yet crispy. Cane served smothered in cheese, sour cream, and guac. Moreover- they off an awesome assortment of classic arcade games and a full wall of pinball machines.
