I ordered wings and two dry slabs of ribs. When my family and I finally decided to eat the ribs on Monday, they were disgusting. They had seasoning caked all on them, and they were overly salty. We wiped off the caked-on seasoning and tried to eat around the saltiness. I was praying the 2nd slab was not the same. When I opened them on 5/27 to see, they were the same. I was trying to avoid calling because I just didn't feel like being bothered. But I called. I left a message for the manager to return my call that morning because "he is in the middle of an interview." So I called back that afternoon and was transferred to Ethan. I explained the situation to him. As I was speaking, he kept making the noise un-huh. So, I stopped talking and asked him what it meant aside from it just being rude as hell. He went on to explain that they missed a step and did not rub in the seasoning and shake it off. I don't care. It's an internal quality issue that should be handled with the prep and cook staff. Not me. He asked if I had my receipt and, in a tone that suggested he was doing me a favor, advised me that he would replace the slab. No apologies for the inconvenience or anything. After my long workday, I went all the way downtown to get the slab replaced. In person, Ethan is just as rude. I asked if he was going to replace both slabs. He could clearly see the quality was trash. He said no and that he would only replace one. Then went on to offer me sides and a slice of cake. No, thank you. I can afford sides and cake just like I did those trash slabs of ribs. Those slabs of ribs cost $62.40 before taxes. With taxes probably being another 5 or 6 dollars. Your mistakes and poor quality should not cost me. He had a young lady bring the replacement slab back out to me. She didn't say thank you or anything. One thing I know is that a white man or woman patronizing your business would not have been treated this way. As a result, moving forward I will spend my Black woman dollars elsewhere on barbeque and smoked chicken wings. Also, I removed you all from my company's approved catering list where we spend a nice amount with you all yearly. Tell Ethan, thanks for helping me see the light and not spend money where I'm not respected and where my customer experience isn't valued.

All of the pictures, souvenirs, music, etc. made us feel right at home. It is family owned and at the owner was super kind to my baby boy and I. Now let's get into the food! My favorite was the potato salad. It was so delicious. I would definitely go back and order it to pair with my meals at home. If you don't like it sweet then it's not for you. The nachos were good. It can with a bag of chips, so I had to assemble them myself (that could also be because I ordered them to go). The chicken was the highlight. It was juice and seasoned really well. The grilled cheese and baked beans were ok. The parking is a "thing", so I don't believe I will dine in. If I want some more or to try more items, I will order takeout!

The slab of ribs were super tender and fall off the bone but had absolutely no flavor at all besides the baked on bbq slapped on the top. The pulled pork was kind of cold and also had no seasoning or marinade. The chicken wings had some seasoning on top but no flavor inside besides some old fry grease flavoring. We were given a warm bottle of barbecue sauce but the bottle was so nasty and concerning no one at our table was brave enough to use it. Platter had Your average sliced white bread on side. The collard greens were praised by the whole table and was knocked out by everyone first. Service was good, but I would surely hope with being the only patrons inside for a whole hour besides a to go order. Restaurant desperately needs some TLC and some deep cleaning. Seasoning or a marinade needed on the meats as well. I would have to give it a hard pass next time.

The brisket is just the absolute best. Everything we had was good...including something as simple as chicken tenders. Excellent food. On top of it, the service is amazing. Everyone there makes you feel welcome, and like family. I can't remember our waitresses name, unfortunately, but she was so great at everything, and just as friendly as you can be. It turns out is not possible to give half a star but that does not dismiss the fact that its negative star worthy. There is no way if i owned a restaurant I would get into an argument with an employee in front of my patrons. If they don't have enough respect to wait and adress any issues they may have with their employees, I am not comfortable with them fixing my food. read more
