Early May 2025 The location and service : Friendly staff, new location inside Blackhawk Plaza, location looks bigger, brighter cleaner and brand new :) The food: kids - pepperoni pizza kids portion, butter pasta, Adults: shrimp po-boy with onion rings - the shrimp could do with a little more Cajun seasoning and fried with more batter

Great ambiance outside overlooking the water and the Blackhawk Museum. The restaurant is tucked away in Blackhawk Plaza. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, applewood bacon, avocado, and blue cheese, with a delicious dressing. The salad came with pita triangles and the salad was huge; I was gonna safe for later but it was too good. Our server was attentive and friendly.

First time at their new location for Saturday night live Country music. The place was packed and mostly by reservation but they were able to seat us outside on the patio. Staff was friendly, food was tasty, and the band was great!

Fat Maddie's Blackhawk is a nice step up from the little Fat Maddie's near Danville Costco. They had a special menu along with breakfast. We are off the special menu and had a an avocado toast and blackened salmon tacos. Service was pleasant friendly and healthful. Fat Maddie's is adjacent to the pond. It was too cold for outside but the sunlight was adding a nice indoor ambiance. We recommend you give them a try.

Amazing and solid American restaurant…read more The ambiance is that of a nice steak house, design is subtle yet elegant. The service is on point, all of the staff is fully engaged, it feels like a 5-star hotel type of attentiveness. Manila clams - plenty of clams, the sauce is rich from the cuttings of porcherta , but it's well balanced and just delicious Halibut - the fish was cooked perfectly crispy, I would be happy getting any fish dish here. Sunday Prime Rib - also perfectly cooked, nice and juicy, the fixings were also just right. Chocolate Banana cream pie - not too sweet, really a pleasant dessert In my opinion, all of the food here is just solid and very good. I don't really have any complaints. My take is that if you're looking for a good food, nice service and a chill atmosphere, this is the place. There's nothing flashy or catchy here, just a solid experience! EZ 5/5 stars!

When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town. Tonight was a real disappointment.

I was wanting more - and my guest got the Superfood salad with chicken- that's a huge win- it was so good - my first choice was the braised short ribs- mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I like the place. It's an old house converted and it has rustic charm. Outside seating is cozy with a fire and warmers - it was a little too chilly last Sunday for us- we were out all day and inside was nice .. it was a slow and cozy Sunday- it started to pick up when we were finishing up- unlike it here and we will be back. While a little on the higher-end side for Italian cuisine, Piatta did not disappoint. The service was great, quick, and attentive, and the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, and more casual and easygoing than one would think based on location. We were offered bread and an olive oil and herbs dip prior to ordering, which was delicious and great. We ordered a ravioli dish and a steak, and my wife and I shared both, which were fantastic, and we had a little bit for leftovers, which tasted nearly as good the next day. I would highly recommend Piatti, for those looking for an elevated Italian dining experience, in a nice but casual setting. We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary, and were given a lovely anniversary card, signed by the majority of the staff, which was a really nice touch!

The slaw was perfect- not too sweet and not too moist. My kid loved the pretzel bites, I just wish they had more kid menu options because thankfully, my kid doesn't eat nuggets and cheese pizza. The restaurant has a fun Hawaiian vibe with cute island-inspired décor, a full bar, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. We ordered the garlic shrimp bowl, loco moco, a side of potato salad, and their famous Hula Pie for dessert. Every dish was delicious. The garlic shrimp bowl was packed with flavor and served over rice with plenty of fresh vegetables. The garlic shrimp were perfectly cooked and generously portioned. The loco moco was hearty and comforting, featuring a generous portion of beef over rice, topped with two perfectly cooked eggs and smothered in a rich mushroom gravy that brought everything together beautifully. The potato salad was creamy, flavorful, and made for the perfect side. Portion sizes throughout the meal were excellent and definitely left us satisfied. The standout, though, was the Hula Pie. This signature dessert is a must-order! It was topped with whipped cream, crunchy macadamia nuts, toasted coconut flakes, and a generous chocolate drizzle, creating the perfect balance of creamy, crunchy, and sweet. It was the ideal way to end our meal. The service was outstanding. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. We never felt rushed and appreciated the warm hospitality. They also offer happy hour during the weekdays, which gives us another reason to come back and explore more of the menu. Overall, we loved everything about our experience. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and a fun Hawaiian atmosphere. No complaints at all--we can't wait to come back! The vibe is very cool, little piece of Hawaiian tiki bar in Danville…read more The staff was very nice and quick to get us seated, take our order and get our drinks and food to us. Once we had the food they were often checking in on us and refilling water and drinks. The drinks were very good, the mai tai and chi chi were exactly what was needed! Now the food... very disappointed. The ohana beef stew tasted very bland, and didn't have much of a Hawaiian flavor or vibe, felt like it could have been an Irish stew with the chunks of beef and veggies in a dark brown sauce. The ramen was very salty, and it didn't have much going for it either. The teriyaki chicken we added onto it was fine, but the flavor got lost once it went into the broth. I'm used to getting mac salad at a Hawaiian place so I was interested and excited to try a potato salad and cole slaw. The potato salad had a lot of flavor, but it did seem a little salty. The coleslaw might have been the best thing I ate there ... the pineapple chunks in it were very refreshing. I'd come back for a drink, and maybe an appetizer but I don't think I'd get an entree again.
