Sunday Happy Hour is a deal. $5 draft beer with a decent selection. The pear gorgonzola flatbread was super delicious. The buffalo fries had good flavor and kept their crispiness despite the hot sauce it was tossed in. At the bar and the bartender was very friendly and cheerful. Soon the relatively empty bar filled up. The restaurant is a newer space for them apparently they moved from the other side of the plaza. They have a lot of space and nice sized patio. When (hopefully not if) this plaza revitalizes they'll be in a great spot.

Early May 2025 The location and service : Friendly staff, new location inside Blackhawk Plaza, location looks bigger, brighter cleaner and brand new :) The food: kids - pepperoni pizza kids portion, butter pasta, Adults: shrimp po-boy with onion rings - the shrimp could do with a little more Cajun seasoning and fried with more batter

Great ambiance outside overlooking the water and the Blackhawk Museum. The restaurant is tucked away in Blackhawk Plaza. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, applewood bacon, avocado, and blue cheese, with a delicious dressing. The salad came with pita triangles and the salad was huge; I was gonna safe for later but it was too good. Our server was attentive and friendly.

First time at their new location for Saturday night live Country music. The place was packed and mostly by reservation but they were able to seat us outside on the patio. Staff was friendly, food was tasty, and the band was great!

Fat Maddie's Blackhawk is a nice step up from the little Fat Maddie's near Danville Costco. They had a special menu along with breakfast. We are off the special menu and had a an avocado toast and blackened salmon tacos. Service was pleasant friendly and healthful. Fat Maddie's is adjacent to the pond. It was too cold for outside but the sunlight was adding a nice indoor ambiance. We recommend you give them a try.

We started with the Crispy Cauliflower, coated with tempura batter and served with lemon aioli; Roasted Brussels Sprouts, topped with chili flakes & Parmesan and served in a cast iron skillet; and the Hummus, topped with Pepitas and served with thin, crispy parm'd pizza bread. The Chopped Kale Salad came with apple, radish, carrot, cotija, and Pepitas, all tossed in a tangy pomegranate vinaigrette; and the Chickpea Salad also had a base of kale topped with chickpeas, roasted sweet potato/carrot, and charred halloumi, and dressed with herbed pesto. The highlight of the menu was their creative pizzas, which you could order either on a thin, crispy Neapolitan crust, or on a thick, soft, square-shaped Detroit-style base with crispy baked cheese edges. The Fun Guy came with porcini cream, mushroom, onion, goat cheese, and pecorino; and the Hail Mary came with beer braised chicken, caramelized onion, cotija, garlic, and Calabrian chili oil, which gave the pizza a flavorful spicy kick. Overall, my favorite items were the Hummus with aromatic pizza bread; and the tantalizingly spicy Detroit-style Hail Mary, but everything was tasty and came at a good value and with quick service too!

I went to view the place for a private event and it was so nice we had to experience the service. I had a lemon drop with Don Julio 10/10 and it was worth every penny. My friend had the avocado toast and loved it her only critique was it was a small piece of toast. Definitely a spot to hit up again to enjoy with your friends.

So sad to write this but want to warn anyone else thinking about having an event here…read more I hosted a baby shower for our party in the back garden/patio. The "event" portal was quick to take my full payment but no one ever responded to my messages in the portal. I called and left three messages to have someone call me back. Finally after 3+ weeks, Linda (the owner) called me back to answer my questions. At that time, the event was completely prepaid. It was lunch and beverages for 60 people. I was told if we did not have the entire guest count, I would be refunded the difference. Going thru the portal, I filled out the final headcount and menu 2 weeks prior to the event. On the day of the baby shower, they were still scrambling to set up when our guests were arriving. Very tacky!! We had 50 people. Lunch was served family style, and even though the food was delicious, there was not enough to feed our hungry crowd. (10 less people I paid for and still not enough food) Linda ensured me there would be staff to come out and take our drink orders. We had one server that came out ONCE to take drink orders. Everyone had to go to the bar to get their own drink. No one came to check on us at all throughout the entire event!! Again, paying for a drink package for 60 people, you would expect everyone to get something to drink. Nope! I really wanted our guest of honor to enjoy this special day and sadly it was a major disappointment for her and all of our guests. I have also text the owner with my concerns and asking when I can expect a refund and have not gotten a response.

We were seated quickly outside. It was such a nice evening out and not cold. There were heat lamps too if needed. Our server was Toni. She was amazing and took care of us! She was super sweet and friendly! Excellent service. We ordered the streak frites, fish of the day which was a salmon and risotto, Paloma and lemon meringue. Steak frites was cooked perfectly! It was a hanger steak so it was soft and tender. Fries were crispy and it came with an arugula side salad. Dressing was lemony. Toni was so nice and even found us something similar to chimichurri sauce. The fish of the day was a salmon with risotto. It was cooked medium. Not over cooked and nice and flakey. Risotto was really good and lemony. The lemon meringue was probably one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. It came with a raspberry compote. The meringue was sooo soft and whipped and came with a delicious graham cracker crust. We even asked if they sold the pie as a whole but unfortunately they don't. Loved this spot! Will def be back. It looks like our new local dinner and dessert spot!

When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town. Tonight was a real disappointment.
