We chose first available seating and got to sit at the bar right in front of the pizza making. It's a cute restaurant, not too loud , and not playing music so loud you can't hear. The restaurant was packed but service was excellent and our food came out fast. We started with the stracciatella which was bubblying hot and so creamy. The Basalmic glaze and honey gave it that little kick of sweetness. The Caesar salad was only $12 and enough for 4 of us to share before our meals. I got the Bufala Margherita pizza and added mushrooms plus onions. The crust was think in the middle and pillowy on the edges. It was great! Make sure to ask for Parmesan on top. We were a group of 7 on the 4th of July weekend and had just finished walking a couple of National Monuments. So we were kinda hungry. we were seated pretty fast even after being told there would be a wait when we called ahead. My brother-in-law and I decided to split a couple pasta dishes. Fat Olives is a MUST when you're in Flagstaff. We've come here the past 3 times we've been in Flag and they hit the spot every time. Whatever the wait for a table is, we wait. The food is incredibly delicious and fresh. I always get the pizza, it's definitely some of the best I've had, the pasta is great too but the pizza takes the cake. Additionally, the food is very quick to come to the table, which is phenomenal! Service is quick, very friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend Fat Olives to anyone for some delicious Italian food. TL;DR: Get to Fat Olives as soon as you can. It's top tier pizza without any pretentious vibes, you can't make a bad choice with their menu and there are plenty of Gluten Free options! I have been to Flagstaff my fair share of times and the fact that this was my first trip to Fat Olives is downright criminal. My group started with the Burrata which was to die for and for just $4 you can get a gluten free bread option (it's just their GF pizza crust plain with spices, but it's delicious). Next to the pizza, they are serious about pizza. They have pies certified by the Italian government because they import the ingredients from Italy and cook everything in an Italian pizza oven. We went with the Belgio Dolce which was a selection by Guy Fieri when he visited. It is hard to explain how good this pizza is adorned with brussel sprouts and pistachios amongst a slew of other toppings this may sound a bit strange, but everything went so perfectly together! Pictured below is their regular crust version and the GF version. For dessert we finished with their gluten free flourless chocolate cake which was thick, decadent, and delicious. It was hearty but not too rich as some flourless chocolate cakes can be. We left full and happy, the service was great, the atmosphere was quaint and lovely, you can't go wrong with a pie from Fat Olives if you're in Flagstaff. read more

If you're feeling adventurous, the belgio dolce is stellar! We loved the crunch and flavor of the pistachio. They also offer a lot of dipping sauces for pizza and we did the Chile oil and the honey. So good! And loved the soft but thin dough of the pizza, and the wood fired flavor! This place was slammed on a Monday night at 5, so I would come before then or a little later if you were trying to avoid the wait. We had a reservation and got seated right away. We ordered a Caesar salad, and I ordered the farmers pizza and the person I was with ordered the Ms. piggy pizza. We also ordered the cheesecake and Columbian chocolate cannoli to go. Service: Our server was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, he was very busy and the person helping him bring out orders was not friendly or helpful. When she brought out the salad, she didn't bring us any plates to put our salad on and walked off. When we finally got her attention and asked for plates, she responded with a huffy ok and a frown. We then realized that we had no napkins and so we waited for the pizzas to get there, thinking she would bring some. The pizzas came pretty quickly after that, but no napkins. Our server happened to come by at the same time for drink refills and so we asked him for napkins, not wanting to bother her by asking for anything else- I think plates for your salad and napkins should be pretty standard at any restaurant. Pizza and Salad: The person I was with really liked her Ms. piggy pizza. We both thought the crust on the pizzas was really good. Although I liked the crust, the rest of the pizza was disappointing. There was not a lot of veggies on the pizza, but way too much of the onions. It tasted like I was eating an onion pizza, and some bites were bitter because of it. The salad was good and the Caesar dressing was excellent. Cheesecake and Cannoli: We ordered the desserts to go, and they were put in cardboard containers. I opened the cheesecake when I got home and saw that the caramel sauce was poured over the cheesecake and had seeped into the cardboard container. There was no more sauce to be eaten with the cheesecake- the caramel sauce should have been put in a separate container. The slice of cheesecake was small and didn't taste any better than a store- bought cheesecake. It was overpriced at $8.50. The cannoli didn't fare any better. It is my favorite Italian dessert, and I have had some amazing ones at different Italian restaurants. It was on the small side and there wasn't enough of the mascarpone filling and there was too much of the chocolate and chocolate chips. The chocolate they use is very intense and overpowering and it doesn't take a lot of it to make a good cannoli. It tasted way too chocolatey and we couldn't finish it. This was a very disappointing experience and unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more
