Great girl dinner here last night outside on the back patio. Love that all the pasta is made in house. The portions were great so we split a pasta and added another salmon to it for more protein. The salmon dish was delicious and the sauce was so yummy. Service was great and love its location downtown so you can walk around and explore all the cute local shops before and after dining.

This small, family-owned scratch kitchen offering Italian dishes is on Aspen Ave in the heart of downtown historic Flagstaff. Parking can be a challenge so factor in some time to find a spot if you can't walk here. We made reservations online yesterday (Sunday) around 12:30 pm while driving up from Phoenix. We made reservations for 5pm, right when they open again for dinner after closing for a couple hours. You must put a credit card in to make a reservation. We walked in right at 5pm. The greeter pointed at our table and told us we could sit down. Placard with our last name and time at the table. Didn't look too busy on this Sunday but wanted to reserve just in case. Service was slow at first. Maybe because they'd just opened? Second half of the meal, our server, Giovanna, was really great, friendly, and on top of it. Scratch-made pasta, sauces, and old, heirloom recipe marinara here. I was in the mood for some good pasta and felt very satisfied with my meal. One of my daughters is gluten sensitive and thought she'd have to get a salad but good news- house-made gluten free options available! She finished her entire dish. My daughters and I were all happy with what we ordered. Everything was delicious. My bowl was piping hot. We ordered: - Raspberry Vanilla Italian Cream Soda - 5/5 - CAPRESE SALAD - fresh sliced mozzarella (5 pieces), bruschetta, topped with balsamic glaze - 5/5 - CREAMY TUSCAN SALMON - House-made pasta, creamy spinach, artichoke, sun dried tomato, caper sauce, 6oz portion of grilled salmon (chardonnay recommended) - 5/5. This was my dish and it was absolutely perfect. Looks are deceiving- this is a very large bowl of pasta. I took my leftovers home - 5/5 - LEMON CAPER - daughter chose gluten free pasta with lemony garlic buttercream sauce with capers, and fresh mushrooms - 5/5. She was trying to save this delicious sauce for leftovers at the dorm but couldn't resist eating it all - 5/5 - GRILLED CHICKEN MARGHERITA - nut free pesto sauce, fresh sliced mozzarella, NAE grilled chicken & heirloom bruschetta, topped with balsamic glaze and basil (pinot noir recommended). Daughter said this was the best. I tried a noodle with pesto and very good, strong fresh green basil flavor - 5/5 Server will shave as much Parmesan onto your dish when they bring it to the table - Yum! Really wanted to try some of the fabulous cocktails and desserts. Had to drive home so we'll have to come back soon. TV playing hockey above the small bar. Two gender neutral restrooms for customers. More seating in the back.

Great dinner experience here recently. We were visiting from Las Vegas, NV for a Christmas event. And decided on comfy Italian food for dinner. We made a reservation a week in advance, which was immensely helpful, since we noticed a lot of walk-in traffics were quoted 45-minutes of wait time. Upon arrival, the White male staff welcomed us warmly. We decided on Caprese salad as the appetizer, which was fresh & had well-seasoned diced tomato atop. I had the Tuscan salmon pasta, and it was delicious with spinach & artichoke. However, I wished the sauce wasn't watery. My husband had the pork chop with pasta, in which he LOVED with fork-tender pork and amazing red sauce. My toddler son loved the butter/garlic pasta. We also had a side of meatballs, which were amazing (not too salty like most restaurants) enmeshed well with marinara sauce with a touch of cinnamon. Our female server was very pleasant too. The restaurant was cozy & inviting too!

We are here after a long day snowboarding and were pleasantly surprised with some of the best Italian food we've had in awhile. The service was excellent and the pasta was very authentic. This last time we got the bolognese which was some of the best I've ever had, meat based and so rich with thick noodles. Aspen and Keith (with hair nonetheless!) helped us and the service was superb. The ambiance here would be great for a date with nice dimmed lighting and just an overall good vibe.

We walked past cafe Stella during the day and I saw the fresh noodles hanging in the window, thought we would give it a try! We were sat in the back which has a cute ambiance. We tried the Lemon Ricotta Pasta which was light in flavor and a splash of lemon. It was an excellent dish to share since we were surprised by the large portion. Would be a great date night spot. Service was a a little slower since it was a Saturday night. We will be back to try another dish sometime in the future.

So here's the rundown. I booked a day of NYE reservation online at 5pm like a delusional optimist... and shocker, there was a glitch. Around 4pm, Sophie (sweet angel, clearly stressed, absolutely didn't want to make that call) let me know there was a mix-up and the only option was bar seating. Did I care? No. I wanted Italian food, I had a good attitude, and it was New Year's Eve; chaos is part of the fun. So bar it was. Enter Keith, our bartender, rocking a mustard beanie running a bar on one of the craziest nights of the year without missing a beat. Funny, attentive, zero attitude, and just the right amount of charm. Then I ended up chatting with the managers, Cole and Dre, and at that point I think I blacked out from laughing. These guys run a tight ship but somehow still make the whole place feel like a party you were lucky enough to get invited to. Now the food!!!! Because yes, we did in fact eat and not just vibe. My bf got the chicken Alfredo. I got lemon ricotta pasta with chicken. Both flawless. Food: 10/10 Staff: 10/10 Vibes: Italian fever dream in the best way possible I'm already planning to come back soon, and this time I'll make my reservation like a responsible adult, but honestly? Even sitting at the bar on NYE was a blast. If you love fresh Italian food, good humans, and a place that knows how to roll with chaos gracefully... go here. I had an absolute blast.

Absolutely delicious! Would come back here in a heartbeat! My husband and I had the Sausage, Mushroom Pasta and the Creamy Tuscan Pasta and both were exceptional. Also loved the House Salad and Sourdough Bread. Service was fast, respectful and friendly. The ambience is charming and cozy. Highly recommend!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

The coffee itself was extremely strong, which is not a bad thing considering we were on our truck back home so it's a good thing to stay awake. The ceremonial Matcha was very light in the Americano. We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!

We were intrigued enough that we visited MartAnne's the very next night for dinner. That was on a Tuesday at around 6PM and it wasn't too busy the entire time we were there. House Horchata ($5.99) - This drink comes in a giant 32 oz Ball jar with tons of ice. Per the server it's made with milk and condensed milk, no rice milk at all. It's rich, thick, creamy, sweet, filled with earthy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. There's so much spice included that at some points, there's almost a gritty feeling while drinking. It's perfect for a hot day after hiking. Buckwheat Pancake ala carte ($4.99) - Buckwheat pancakes are something we've never seen before on a diner menu in the past. It seems to be pretty common around Arizona, so we had to give it a try before leaving Flagstaff. This one's pretty big, almost plate sized. It's really moist, fluffy, bouncy, and light with a slight sweetness and a certain earthy flavor. It's moist enough that it sticks to the ceramic plate it's served on. The pancake is somewhat crumbly due to the low gluten content of buckwheat, although I believe they use a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour to give some more stability. It's bluish grey in color with black specks of ground buckwheat throughout. It's dusted with powdered sugar, but it's not a ton, making the pancake not really sweet at all. The pancake comes with a small cup of their cinnamon honey butter. It's not mixed that well, leaving it mostly unhomogenized with streaks of honey and spice through the softened salted butter. Tamale ala carte ($4.99) - MartAnne's offers two types of tamales - the first a red chile beef, and the second a green corn and cheese. We went with the latter, which is a homemade tamale with a somewhat looser, coarsely ground masa shell surrounding an interior of yellow sweet corn kernels, a bouncy and somewhat spongy block of Oaxaca cheese, and a fragrant green chile. There's a slight sweetness throughout and the tamale overall is easy to eat. Chilaquiles, Xmas, Fratelli ($17.99) - This is a monster sized plate of a mishmash of ingredients. There are three things as essentially a base layer. Firstly some Mexican rice that's tender, moist, and fluffy, totally unlike the more common dry and and compact version. My guess is that they skip the initial frying step that helps keeps the starch together. It's quite fragrant and has gives a bit of heat. On top of the rice is a layer of hash browns. The potatoes are tender on the interior, griddled on one side to give a delightful crunch, although there's some acridity that develops. Another third of the plate is covered with chili beans - tender pinto beans that are well salted and seasoned. Then there's the eggs stuffed in between layers of corn tortilla chips, smothered with sauce. I went with the Christmas combination of red and green sauce, followed up by the Fratelli-style pork green chile. The green sauce is fragrant and vegetal, while the red sauce is more smoky. The pork, which is cut into chunks, on top is a bit tough and dry but there's more than enough sauce to make up for that slight demerit. Finally, there's a small mound of I believe jalapeno peppers, cut into small neon-green colored pieces. Some pieces are spicy, some are mild, all have a vegetal pepper taste. I found the food at MartAnne's to be pretty good. It definitely hits the spot after hiking all around the area for most of the day. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Note: MartAnne's charges a 3.5% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu.

The food itself was outstanding. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and my wife got the chilaquiles. Both portions were huge. The chicken and biscuits were exactly what I was hoping for: smothered in rich country gravy with a perfectly fried flattened chicken breast that was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The buttermilk biscuit was golden, flaky, buttery, and had the perfect balance of soft interior and crisp edges. I honestly got full halfway through my plate and never even got a chance to try the wife's chilaquiles. Hubby and I each got a cup of fresh brewed coffee that did not disappoint! Not too weak, not too strong... brewed to perfection! My husband ordered the chicken and biscuit and I the chilaquiles Christmas style. Lord have mercy both of these dishes were the bomb! Not only plenty of food but super tasty - I had my chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and they also came with about 1/2 a freshly sliced avocado. Nice, tangy flavor and sprinkled with just the right amount of cotija cheese! Shared with the table and still had leftovers (and I'm not mad about it). Husband's dish was perfection - the perfect biscuit combo - fluffy, chewy and crunchy in all the right places, and the gravy not overly seasoned or salty. Chicken was a breaded/fried (possibly baked) and cooked/seasoned just right. Inner meat was tender and moist and outside of course was crunchy - batter was well seasoned and breast didn't seem greasy at all. I worked in a mom-and-pop coffee shop decades ago - everything was homemade and fresh and the coffee 2 die 4. This establishment brought me back to those times in regard to coffee/food quality and hospitality! Will 100p be returning when next we're in town!
