Came here on a Thursday and wow! Absolutely amazing! I am visiting from Texas with my best friend and we saw yelp reviews and honestly this did not give it justice! We enjoyed every bit of it from the side salad (ceasar), Big Band Briski-O-Li's, Hakuna Piccata, and the Numero One O! It was all soo delicious! Service was amazing, the old classic ambiance was impressive! I'd dine here again and again.. AND AGAIN! The pain reliever drink for Happy Hour and Anita Margarita and Dirty Monkey (no we're not alcoholics) were super strong & delicious! This is a must see and try! Great location not far from the hotel. Stopped in for dinner it was pretty empty to my surprise. Everyone was nice on the staff. Food did take a while to come out despite them not being crowded. My daughter chose Oregano's for her birthday lunch as she was in the mood for shrimp scampi. My slice was good as was my husband's personal pizza (not as good as it use to be). My daughter's scampi was very good and she loved the chocolate chip pizza cookie for dessert. Service wasn't great. Our waitress would be in our aisle and not make eye contact. Had to call out so we could ask for to go containers and order dessert. Also my items were rung up separately on the bill and when I mentioned it her response was "oh I just have to hit a button" and left to run our card. If I hadn't noticed it was a $4 overcharge. Oreganos was absolutely delicious. Started off with the Boom dip ,super cheesy and just everything you crave in a hot dip. The pizza sticks they serve it with are super tasty and crunchy. I had the shrimply caprese pasta. Shrimp was super juicy and the flavors in the pasta were a perfect pairing , It definitely kept me full for a good while . The atmosphere is very inviting and homey, I liked how the menu has playful names to each item. And of course we had to get the cookie desert with ice cream. Chefs kiss all around . We moved from Chicago in August. Have not found a decent pizza in all of the valley. Oregano's has been recommended, and finally stopped by this spot in Flagstaff. It has an Italian/Pizza vibe with checkered table cloths, big band music. We ordered a thin crust, ZA, with italian sausage, pepperoni, onions and mushrooms AND fresh basil. We took a chance, we told Annalise our waitress that we were from Chicago. Warned her I was a Pizzza snob. Just messing with her. She was great and took great care and put up with our jokes. The 18" pizza was loaded, loaded, with sausages, basil, etc. Everything tasted fresh, basil makes it pop. Italian sausage had lots of fennel flavor. So far, best ZA in the state of AZ. Michael, the manager came over, guess the secret was out, we were from Chicago. Gino's East deep dish is my fave. Gino's East also rocked with think crust as well. We yucked it up with Michael, told him we were impressed. Fresh ingredients is the key. And the big band music and Sinatra songs, added to the vibe. Next time we will try the pan (deep dish). This is a well known chain. Served seven of us without reservations on Sunday evening. Food was good and served at the appropriate temperatures. Ambiance is fun even if similar to the rest of the country where these restaurants are. What really set this visit apart was the server! Margo was amazing! Great customer service! If you're in Flagstaff and hungry, just go here. Seriously. I'm in the food industry up in Seattle, so I don't get impressed easily, but this place delivers. It's the kind of spot where you sit down planning to just eat, and next thing you know you're fully locked in, enjoying every bite and not thinking about anything else. The food is straight-up comfort, but done right. The pizza has a solid crust, not soggy, not overdone. The pasta is rich, filling, and comes out hot like it should. Portions are big, but it doesn't feel sloppy or thrown together. You can tell they've got their system dialed in. Even with a full dining room, everything came out at a good pace and nothing felt rushed. That's not easy to pull off. We tried the cookie at the end and honestly it's just one of those things you order because everyone else is, and then you get it and go yeah... that was worth it. Oregano's has always been a family favorite Flagstaff restaurant. Our last visit didn't feel as favorable. With as many good visit in the past, I was hesitant about commenting this time. The Big Beefstro salad we regularly order, was disappointing. The cooked onions were burned black, not really a terrible thing, just something negative that was unexpected. We ate the meal, only making mention of the onions when a manager(?) Stopped and asked how our meal was, we made mention then, thinking it was something they should be made aware. We were disappointed in the ensuing conversation. "that's how the chef sautés the onions, they are not burned", we were told. Which lead to more conversation. We, then, felt comfortable mentioning what we had discussed between ourselves doing the meal. The " manager" assured us, that there was no change in quality, it had been consistent for the year, that he had been there. I wish we were as confident, but we're not; compared to the early era a step or two has been lost. Example, the Guaca-Tony, early days, the bread was brought to the table as a hot freshly cook thin crust pizza bread, now it seems like warmed premade individual slices. Ya, small difference, but a really nice touch to dinning out was lost. read more

I'm doing a review on the oregano's located on country club. They move from the old place on South Plaza Way years ago. It's not the same as it was when it was located on South Plaza Way either they changed ownership or something. [We used to love going to the one on South Plaza Way. The pizzas were perfect, crisp toasted edges. The garlic bread was so good, and my favorite with the pesto bowl. They don't have the pesto bowl anymore. It was the best. I don't like the red sauce on my pastas] I've been to the new location, 4x. The first time I took my family out, it took us about 10 minutes to be seated, and we had children with us so it wasn't fun waiting. We were seated waited quite a while for someone to come back to take her order. You would think that waiting 15 minutes we looked at the menus are ready and we knew what we wanted. 10 minutes for someone to come back to take our orders. We order appetizers and drinks so we waited for that. We got the drinks and we asked for the appetizer. I think they forgot so the appetizers came five minutes before our pizzas. I panicked because I can't eat without drinking anything and the person took a long time to come back to refill our drinks, I asked for my food to go because everybody else was ready to leave. And asked for my coffee to go and I asked for decaf. I can't drink decaf because it will make me sleep. They gave me regular coffee. Lol coffee is like a sleeping pill for me, I think people in the food industry need to know that some people when they ask for decaf that's for either a medical reason or it works like a sleeping pill for them. Our food took 53 minutes, these are pizzas. They take 17 to 25 minutes tops. The next three visits were the same in a sense just different servers. The third time I went back. I made sure that I had a water bottle in my bag so that I don't run out of anything to drink. We come with children every time we were meeting at this place to meet families driving through and didn't want to go into town. I'm a server so I was taught to always put extra napkins on a table and to keep the water filled or their drinks and when you deliver the food you come back in about two minutes to ask if everything is OK and if there's any complaints or anything that needs to be corrected, it happens at that moment and you refill drinks. You check on your tables every 10 minutes to make sure that everyone's being taken care of and if it's super busy, you apologize that it will be a long wait instead of making people think that it's gonna be quick. It's pizza, wings, pasta, bread and salad. Those are super easy quick foods to make so maybe retrain your servers. I think the oven is not as hot as the old restaurant. I had no complaints abt their food when it was located on South Plaza Way. And the servers were like really super nice, peppy and quick with getting food and people in and out of there. I haven't been there since 2022? Garlic bread isnt the same so that was what was so good abt oregano's. If you have kids under 13 or elderly folk, or people who have ADHD; the waiting is too long for foods that are quick to prepare. I don't think they have booths, every time we went there we were seated at tables and chairs. Extremely noisy. And the tables are very close to one another. You can hear people talking about their conversations. It's kind of like claustrophobic feeling to the place. I know some people don't like things like that especially elderly people who have hearing aids, wheelchairs, those with autism, people who need a quiet relaxing placing. There is so much noise that you need to lean over to talk to your companions. Table of 6, max 7 every time we ate there. I'm not too sure how it is now. 4x is good enough to let me know, if I want to come back. Maybe I'll come back if they bring back the pesto bowls or something pesto, if they can get the original yummy buttery garlic bread back. read more
