We've been here 5 or 6 times, and the food and service has been very consistent. Today we enjoyed the stracciatellia - tasty blend of fresh mozzarella, cream, pepper and EVOO along with some fresh shaved prosciutto. We also ordered a pizza from the wood oven, called the Miss Piggy, which had pesto and bacon. Very delicious! Sit at the pizza bar and watch them use the wood oven, it's a lot of fun. Horrible service, first and foremost. I wish I would have read the yelp reviews first, as I bypassed due to it being Triple D. Sat quickly be the host, as there was plenty of tables available. Then after 10 minutes of no one even acknowledging my table of five existed, I started my normal 5 minute countdown to leave, giving them the benefit of doubt of some unforseen issue. Needless to say other than the host saying hello and seating us, not another word was spoken to my group even after we all got up and walked out. We ordered bruschetta (mixed) and I had a small Caesar salad. A real Caesar has anchovies, which were not on the ingredients list, but I get not everyone likes them. The bruschetta was great! We had 3 pizzas, and everyone at our table agreed that they did not arrive hot and the crust was soggy. My adovado pie (see photo) was pretty peppery, a bit too much in my opinion. Some folks would have liked it but the server should have warned me about the high spice level. So if you read no further, absolutely make a reservation or use the check in feature before you leave. We ended up waiting for about an hour for a table for four on a Sunday night. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Fat Olives managed to be the best and somehow least expensive meal we've had in flag. The kid's menu is very reasonably priced at $7 for a good sized cheese pizza. My husband and i split a salad and a pizza. The salad was solid--very fresh, an interesting mix of savory and sweet. The goat cheese on it was wonderfully creamy. We got the bufala pizza. It was excellent. The crust was that perfect wood-fired chewy. I didn't realize how perfect the cheese was until I finished the last slice of my kid's and was a bit jarred by normal mozzarella. We wanted the smores pizza for desert but the kitchen ran out so we got the cannoli. They were good but nothing special. My only issue was that we were seated in what I think is the private dinning room/event space and while it was adorable and cozy with a fire place burning in the fire, our table didn't seem quite big enough for four people in terms of finding space for plates. Not sure if the main dining room has bigger tables. They do tack on a 4% service charge which is a bit annoying. Does the server get that? The service was great, so she should. read more

I mean it was packed. Thursday night and the place was hopping. We had a reservation but people were being told there was a 40+ minute wait. There were too many tables populated with too many diners to say it had a comfortable atmosphere, I would have liked to have been able to move my chair a little more comfortably. This place is amazing and quite delicious. Pizza is Neapolitan style and done right. Crust was perfectly chewy with a light char throughout. We got the Calabrian Dolce which was DELICIOUS. Pretty much a fancy version of pepperoni pizza with hot honey. The sopressata came out like a half ham half prosciutto meat that was thinly sliced with a hammy flavor. One thing that stood out was how much you could taste the honey, while it wasn't overwhelming, it added the perfect amount of sweetness. I also appreciate how serious this place is taking covid. Every staff member was masked up and there was hand sanitizer throughout the establishment. My one slight gripe was how long the pizza took. We went here for dinner for a friend's birthday this past summer. It was at the dinner rush peak so it was beginning to become quite crowded. Upon entering we were seated instantly, where we immediately looked at the beer and wine list, then the actual menu. When I looked at the menu, I realized that this restaurant was on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives starring Guy Fieri. It shows what types of pizzas Guy ate when he visited. The Baked Rigatoni's sauce did not taste homemade, it tasted like canned sauce. :( Also we were missing the sausage in it, and the server mentioned something to us after we got the bill that they were out of sausage...The Chicken Alfredo was better, but still didn't taste like homemade sauce and noodles tasted a bit rubbery. For the price we paid we were disappointed in the quality of the food. To be fair...our server did recommend the pizza because that's what they're known for. Ok so I created this account just to say what my heart is demanding I say about this place. Yes, this place was on our generation's greatest culinary programme (spelled it fancy), Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Yea there is a signed poster of Guy with his bleached inferno of a hairstyle on the wall as soon as you walk in. The truth is... ...none of that matters. I was there with my wife and two daughters. At one point during dessert, my wife threatened divorce because she witnessed the true me as I could not hold back tears of pure spiritual fulfillment roll down my cheeks. I ignored her because I knew that as long as I had this cheesecake, I would be alright. We shared an appetizer (or anti pasta which I assume means that it will one day rise up an army to oppose pasta and ultimately fail) which I could not pronounce. It was life changing. The emotional journey, the hero's journey, was not over. Next, I had a pizza that is so superior to any other pizza I have ever had, or heard tales of, pale in comparison. It had goat cheese, marmalade and what looked like weeds from the very Garden of Eden itself. It was joined by an intoxicating elixir of soda water, vanilla and blackberry. The flavors joined together in carnal unison on the bed of my tastebuds, which, while horribly inappropriate, was the stuff of dreams. It was all followed by what the menu modestly refers to as "créme brûlée cheesecake". I scoff at this horribly inaccurate and woefully inadequate description. Truth be told (Truth with a capital T), this slice of Divinity, this wedge of forbidden knowledge, this caramel drizzled triangle of ambrosia was exactly the perfect combination of flavor, texture and haughtiness that turned the very laughter of my inner child to liquid and sent it down my face. How did we come to this moment, you ask? How did this veritable smorgasbord of sun take its place upon the table? A messenger of God Herself named Haley set it before us. Yes, Haley. No i.
