Do not listen to these one star ratings. My grandmother and I were traveling for vacation from Ohio to North Carolina. And was lucky enough to get hungry just as we were approaching Fat Patty's. we looked through google trying to find nearby places to fill the stomach. Something new. This place looked to be just an average joe kinda place, but the ratings were decent enough to give it a shot. And I kid you not, this place was PACKED. All the parking spots filled, people parking up next to the building, and people parking in a hotel next door and walking over. We were having second thoughts thinking the service would be slow, wanting to get back on the road sooner than later. THE RESTAURANT : walking in, there were people waiting, I assume for others because when we said we had two people we were seated immediately. Server came within minutes got beverages and ordered appetizers. Drinks came within a minute and the appetizers soon to follow. I had not one single complaint about the price or food quality. ordered the main entree soon after and before the appetizers were even finished our food was there. (Keep in mind this place was completely packed.) I had their main giant burger and a turkey club. And my grandmother had a wedge salad and French onion soup. The food was worth the 5 stars. Burger loaded with topping and juice dripping with every bite. And the soup was full of cheese one bite left you with a string of cheese a foot long. The salad had a hefty amount of dressing. (Usually has to order more.) aside from the great tasting food, the prices were great. We got two appetizers, a soup and salad, and two main entrees, for under 35$ including drinks! Jewels is an awesome bartender. Always knows what her regulars want before they sit down. She even knows where I want to sit and want to eat. Cant ask for anything else. Im sad she is on dayshift which is what i work. I try and see her every chance I get. read more

Cold beer and a great dinner. Creole burger was excellent as well as the Fat Italian. Messy, but worth it.

The hamburger I got wasn't fully cooked. The cheese was not melted. The bread tasted old. My waiter try touching me in werid ways when my children went to the bathroom he followed them to bathroom and waited for them to get done they came out and then followed them back and asked us for our order. I said may I speak to the manager he said no So i went to ask another person and they yeah so I talked to him and he was very rude so i said here is the money for the drinks took my children and left. read more

A local recommended this restaurant for their great burgers, fries, and onion rings. I had a vampire killer burger that truly was KILLER... Garlic galore! Three onion rings were perfectly crisp and hot, and the bistro sauce was great for dipping. I had fast and friendly service, too. I'll be back when I'm back in town! read more

There is something for everyone at this place. My personal favorite are the wings especially the gold traditional style. It's some sort of spicy honey mustard I think. Lots of people love the pretzel burger. Some of the best service I've seen. read more

Great burgers, great fries. In Ashland, (unsure about the other locations), Tuesday is buy one entre get one free (after 4 PM), plus 1/2 price selected appetizers! Service is quick and friendly. Also, chicken (grilled or fried) can be substituted for burger at no extra cost! Ambiance is loud, sports bar kind of place, not great for conversations. read more

Food is bar food but good. There's a full selection of liquors but the staff has a lot to be desired. I've been here 5 times when I've come in from out of town to visit family and every single time my order has been wrong. I'm admittedly pretty easy to satisfy when it comes to food, but Fat Patty's served me an above average burger the two times Ive eaten there. I had the Raspberry Popper burger - a very unique burger that had both raspberries and jalapeños on it, and the buffalo burger which was a burger with blue cheese and buffalo sauce. Potato chips came with the burger order, but you could pay more to get fries. However, the burger was consistently so large that I couldn't even finish my burger, let alone the potato chips. Was a little loud for my mother, but service was great and the waiters were friendly. read more

Serious staffing issues. Was served by a guy that was certainly on drugs or seriously incapable of life. Twitchy, forgetful, checks all messed up. Food was cooked earlier and reheated. Some mentioned "college bar tastes" in their review. Agreed but a bit worse. I would drive to Huntington for a five guys burger I worked there they have no freezers everything is fresh ,far party's don't even pat out their burger,which is what they're known for, they come frozen party's in a box plus it's always a mess and bad service!!!!! read more

Enjoyed dining on Fat Patty's vegetarian sandwiches tonight (the Not So Cow Burger) Mine was made like a Lava Burger and my sister's like a Raspberry Popper. They have the best vegetarian burgers anywhere! We also had the 1/2 price appetizers, onion rings & potato boats. They were so good. We will be back again soon. read more

Mediocre. They will purposely leave the phone off the hook sometimes so they don't have to take orders over the phone. My expectations are always too high when I eat at this location but I keep trying because it's in close proximity to the apartment and its convenient and cheap. read more

The food isn't bad, it just isn't great. The burgers are good, but they taste like something I could make at home, no special seasoning to the meat or anything. The produce toppings aren't super fresh. As far as quality of burgers go, Five Guys was better. That being said, the other sandwiches and appetizers are pretty good. As an "out of towner" in the area for work for several weeks we decided to try something more local and not a chain restaurant. Ashland, KY does seem to be the town of chain restaurants! Fat Patty's has a good selection and my burger was great as well as the sweet potato fries. The others in the group approved of their meals and margaritas as well. Don't tell your doctor what you eat here, but hey - gotta live a little and why not have a great tasting burger and a cold drink while you're at it?! read more

I order the grilled chicken breast dinner but instead they brought the chicken tenders dinner I told waiter but he acted as if they didn't have the dinner. So I kept the food but when I got home looks on the menu and they do have the grilled dinner. He was slow with our food and I ask for no garlic bread and ordered it plain. I received it late. My friend had to ask for refill and never came to our table much. I had leftover to bring home and instead of a box big enough bring me small box said he bring another small one but never return to table before we left. Not satisfy at all. When I first moved to the area, I had many people tell me that I need to try Fat Patty's. I went one time and I was not impressed. In my opinion the reason the burgers need to have all of the toppings because they are so very dry. If it weren't for the beer and their fries, I would have given it a lower rating. read more

My family of 15 adults and 2 children showed up at 6:00 PM on a Saturday night for dinner. Within 15 minutes of our arrival they had several tables put together capable of seating all of us. We enjoyed the apetizers, some drinks and at 7:00 PM we ordered dinner. The waiter that took care of us did an excellent job. The food was delivered to the table fresh and hot. Everyone received just what they ordered. After we ate, the waiter even took a picture of our entire party out on the patio. The apetizers were great. The drinks were cold and very good. It is increasingly hard to find a restaurant that both my husband & myself enjoy. Fat Patty's always fits the bill when we are deciding on where to eat out & since arriving in Ashland, KY, has always been one of our 1st picks. When eating in, we have never waited more than 5 minutes. Our food is always brought out fast & fresh. The variety on the menu is absolutely fantastic; there literally is something for everyone. The prices are even very reasonable. As for the bar, my husband has always found at least one beer on tap that he enjoys and any mixed drinks have been exceptionally made. (And he is quite the picky drinker!) My only complaint is that chips come customary with your burger. Though the fee to upgrade is not exponential by any means, I can't imagine too many people prefer potato chips with their meal when deciding to eat out on the town. The only reason I would not return to this restaurant is if I wanted a quiet dinner out. It is a family-style/sports bar restaurant that is as open as architecturally possible therefore noise, laughter, deep voices definitely carry. I personally find that comforting during a meal but those seeking a more solace environment should probably dine elsewhere. read more

please do not go to this establishment, its gross.. you feel like you are in a creepy guys basement.. the food is horrid, the atmosphere is weird and the employees act like they are all freshmen in high school looking to score after work. me and my husband went b/c we had never been and we were starved, we ordered chicken tenders as a starter, they were so overfried they could of been a brick in the side of the buidling, I ordered a reuben which was swimming in oil with the regular store bought beef and what seemed like soured thousand island dressing, i didn't even eat all of it .. my husband got a burger and while it looked pretty when they brought it to the table, it was the worst burger i've ever eaten! no seasoning, not even salt.. no grill.. you could tell it had just either been heated in the microwave or steamed.. it was the worst food ever and for 8.00 each one would think they could afford to attach fries to an order, but they cant' as you only get chips .. unless you want to pay two dollars more you can upgrade to fries or onion rings.. while we were eating we noticed several men just kind of "hanging out" my husband thinks they were bouncers.. which to us which just really weird b/c this is a restaurant that just happens to have a bar in it.. very strange to me.
