Fat patty's...gotta love the clever name! We came here on a business trip lunch with a party of 14 (what else is there in downtown Ashland?) and were seated outside promptly (there are fans so it's not too hot). I got the Vampire Killer - basically a burger with a ton of minced garlic on top - and it was deeeeelicious! You really have to love garlic though. I got the fries which I thought were tasty as well, and for dessert I tried the pretzel bun thing, which just tasted like fried french toast, but it was tasty. My coworkers got the Lava Patty, Black and Bleu, Luau Cow, and they all liked their burgers. Service was great considering we had such a large party. read more

Best burgers in the tri-state area! I always leave satisfied and full and for the price you can't go wrong with that! It can get pretty noisy and sometimes even hard to talk to the people sitting at your own table, and the lighting is very dim most of the time, but the great food evens it all out. I always get the pretzel patty which is a big seller, and their nachos in any capacity are always top notch. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and always make sure you are taken care of. This is by far one of my favorites in Ashland. Originally coming out of WV, when they decided to give Ashland a try.. it was a major success. Close by the Paramount and not far from the Town Center and Cinemas, this location is a prime spot for a good meal during a night out. Each burger I've had has been awesome, same with the sides and other main courses. So I'd say give them a try on your next night out. read more

Cheap prices rule at this burger joint and sports bar in downtown Ashland. For a place that really doesn't have much in terms of restaurants, Fat Patty's may be among the better selections in town, and from what I've heard, even put the local Five Guys out of commission. After reviewing the menu and seeing various types of burgers, I actually opted for a bratwurst sandwich, which was served on a pretzel roll. Tasty indeed, and served with a pickle and potato chips (although you can substitute for fries for an extra fee. Service was also friendly and prompt. read more

I ordered the small burger and onion rings. The burger was good size and came with lettuce, pickle, onion and mayo. It had good flavor. The onion rings were not hot, but they tasted good. The restaurant was crowded, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. It was a little loud but tolerable. read more

Love going to Fat Patty's, one of my favorite restaurants in the area. First time to this location. Poor communication from staff as we were originally sat in a "closed section" and had to move to another table. Waitress was very rude and unapproachable from the beginning. Ordered a beer. Table beside me was sat about 10 mins after I ordered a beer. They received their beers. End of meal comes and beer still not received. Waitress would not hang around long enough to speak with her about the issue. read more

Being a busy place speaks well of this restaurant. While they specialize in a variety of big burgers, I opted for the chicken tortilla soup and Cobb salad. Both were good choices. The soup was spiced "just right". Though not a fan of fruit on my salads, the addition of dried cranberries to a grilled chicken Cobb was good. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their meals. This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat! They have happy hour on selected appetizers so they're half off. Their jalapeño poppers with the raspberry sauce (appetizer) is absolutely AMAZING! I normally get their pulled pork nachos and they're pretty bomb. Their prices are pretty cheap as well. I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with the food. Always hot and just really hits the spot. I have very little complaints about service. I think there's been maybe twice I wasn't satisfied with the service but apparently it wasn't that bad cause I always make my way back.! The crew is pretty awesome. Everyone's always sweet. This place is making my dietary change over to vegetarianism a bit more tolerable. I often would dine on their veggie burger even back when i was still a carnivore the only difference was then i would wash it down with "meat squeezings" i brought from home. That was when i still made sausage from dogs and cats in my neighborhood. That is all behind me now. Now i just steal fruit and vegetables from my neighbors garden. Let me just begin by saying Fats is my favorite place in the entire world. If I was dying and I had one single wish it would be to drink a tall country boy lemonade at the bar with Jules. So that being said, i'm obviously a bar regular, but the entire staff always knows exactly what I want before I even know what I want. There truly is no better service around. Day or night, you can't go wrong. The food is excellent, the bar tenders (jules, summer, and burns) are beyond amazing, and the fellow regulars are lifelong friends. Went here after my husband tried it and thought I'd enjoy it. I felt terrible telling him that I hated it. Waitress was rude and didn't smile, bring silverware, or seem concerned at all about earning her tip. Kept giving me the eye like she had an issue. My burger was bland without any seasoning. It just tasted like plain hamburger. Fries don't even come with the burger, you get chips unless you upcharge for fries. Who does that? Everything here seems greasy and overrated. I went to Fat Patty's while visiting my mom - and IT IS SO GOOD! The staff was also very kind! I got the triple appetizer plate but paid a $2.50 up-charge to upgrade my regular potato skins to the pig skins that have an addition of bbq pork in them (the pork was tender and juicy, and there was also bacon and cheese)... along with that it came with the beer battered cheese sticks (amazing flavor and the marinara paired so well, like it was specifically formulated to match the flavor of the cheese sticks) and wings (nice and crispy! medium buffalo sauce was just the right amount of heat for me). All 3 items were fantastic! It was filling and delicious! My mom got the Lava Burger, which is a Scorching inferno of flavor! For me, it was too hot, but for fans of the flames - it was perfect. My mom LOVED it and ordered a second one to go for my stepdad who is also a patron of pyre! She got beer battered fries with her burger and they were really tasty as well. Regrettably, I could have visited this place a second time, but wanted to try an Italian place (Alma's) a block away - HUGE MISTAKE. See their listing for more info on that. But now I know.... Great family friendly restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere. Never disappointed with service or food. Just like any other place be selective of what time you go. Parking is an issue with the only real options being off street parking. It can be somewhat a hassle finding one due to the other businesses around fighting for the same spots. read more

The patties are frozen, not fresh, but still ends up being fine burgers, nothing to write home about except the size usually ends up giving you two meals for the price. It's extremely loud so expect to yell at your table mates when it's busy. The service is usually quick and I haven't had any problems there. read more

The place for large portions and amazing burgers in Ashland! If it's a nice day ask to sit outside, you won't regret it! The service is pretty good, but the food is what brings people back. The salads, while not what most people typically get, are huge and delicious. The black and blue burger is one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. They are always playing some kind of sports program on their televisions inside and they offer free (if rather intermittent) wifi. The kids meals are just as giant as the adult meals, my son loves it here but can never finish more than half of his food. I plan to eat here whenever I visit Ashland! It can be a little hard to find parking and the wait time and crowds can get really bad. read more

I recommend the Buffalo Burger (hamburger covered in wing sauce and sprinkled with bleu cheese) and onion rings. If the Buffalo Burger isn't your style they have a ton of burgers to choose from. Very impressed! As new restaurants go, there is usually some growing pains, but this place has its act together. I've previously had horrible luck with delivery from Fat Patty's (incorrect and missing items, excessive delays, etc) so I thought to place an online order for pick up from their official website. Since the pickup was at the noisy bar (which was full and dirty), it was not feasible to check the order prior to leaving. Considering their track record, perhaps I am somewhat to blame for assuming they would get the order correct. The salad did not have the added blackened chicken, there was no side of chipotle ranch (additional cost), the burger was sans the purchased loaded fries, and the additional pickle spears were also missing (again, at additional cost). To my understanding (according to previous orders through a delivery service), the low carb burgers are meant to come with a side salad, which was also omitted from the order. Despite all these issues, I would not have come to a public forum except they refuse to answer their phone. I tried over ten minutes and left a voicemail using the phone number listed in multiple areas on their website and on Google to no avail. I do NOT recommend anyone order delivery or pickup from this restaurant. read more
