This was my first time at the OakBrook location and I absolutely loved the ambiance and decor! Super cute and detailed, really loved the bar set up and the colors. I've been to the Lincolnwood location and really enjoyed the food, so I was thrilled about a closer location. I get the black bean hash tacos and their guac. I love the Habanero salsa as well. Our waiter was nice and as he sat us down he told us it was happy hour and that margaritas were $6. We proceeded to take advantage and order some yummy margs. The drinks and food were delicious BUT, when it came to pay, all the margaritas we had order were not $6, they were full price. When I asked the waiter about it, he suddenly had a full and thorough explanation of which exact flavors (only 3) were $6.00 and proceeded to show us the smaller cup size they'd be in. I told him one of the flavors I got was the mango, and he said "well you got the full size" Mind you, I wasn't even aware there was a variable cup size. So, all in all 2 great stars for food, drinks, and ambiance! 3 stars off because I don't like when servers try to be sneaky. This is a new Mexican restaurant that just opened last week. We went here on a Friday afternoon at 3:00. Restaurant was not busy at all. We waited and waited for a server to come to our table. No one showed up. Finally left and went to Uncle Julio's across the street. I will try them again in the future hopefully when the kinks are worked out. read more

We have given this spot a try twice now. It's recently opened so first visit, had terrible service, but gave it the benefit of the doubt. It has a colorful fun vibe- and food and drinks are decent, so had hoped to come back once they have worked out the new opening jitters. We gave it another shot, for my friend's birthday dinner. Service was so incredibly bad- I actually had to pull a hostess aside to request a different waiter- which I have never had to do. Drinks were taking over 20+ minutes, I finally got up and walked to check on them, and waiter was lost in space. Then I reminded him of the appetizers we had ordered 30+ minutes ago...it was very bizarre. 2 hours into the dinner, we finally ordered. Such a loss to the restaurant- we wanted to eat and drink, but couldn't place or receive a flippin' order! Went here for a friends birthday party dinner. 3 out of 6 of us have confirmed food poisoning. This was as of 10/18/25. Two of the people sick ordered enchiladas with cheese. One other person sick got steak and chicken fajitas. No body who got sick drinks alcohol just had water. Inauthentic Mexican food. read more

First the good, the food was great, wife got the house margarita and I had a spicy sweet jalapeño strawberry margarita. We split the mar y terria for two and got a little taste of everything. Also got the queso fundito which was also good. Ambiance was okay, they seemed to be rushing everyone in and out. Lots of birthday celebrations, which after the 4th or 5th one was a bit much honestly. Now the bad, service was awful. We had a party of 12 and the waitress was never around. We were there almost 2 hours and after our first margaritas we were never asked if we wanted more, had to remind her several times about the kids drinks and paletas. Also didn't stage the appetizers and meals and just brought it all out at once. Not sure if she was new, but as someone who has worked in food service you would expect to see more hustle and attention for a party that size. After all that I just wanted to leave, what I did enjoy was the food and one drink. But not sitting for 2 hours and waiting for a waitress to see if we needed anything else. Stopped in to Fat Rosie's for happy hour. Nice place. Dancing music playing, great vibes. Decor is upscale. Ordered a few beers and steak nachos. Female bartender was great stopped by several times asked us how we were doing. Now the disappointing part. The nachos- ordered steak nachos. Came in for dinner and drinks with friends, the margaritas were delicious and strong( the grilled pineapple Margarita is chef's kiss). The service was just okay but the food was horrible. I understand that it is valentines day weekend, but it wasn't packed in there and the fact that a table who was seated long after mine were served their apps AND entrees before we received our entrees is an issue for me. I ordered fajitas, it is known that fajitas come to your table sizzling hot, but when I received mine not only was the platter not sizzling, the food wasn't even hot. It also tasted very bland, the margs had more seasoning than the food! I tried to get the waiter's attention but he was too busy talking to his table of friends, guess he forgot he was at work (he quickly remembered when he stared us down when it was time to add a tip to our checks).. Wanted to give this spot a try being that it's new and right next door to one of our favorite spots. Went the weekend of the Fourth of July. Had no problems making a reservation for arrival in the next 20 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant, no problem being seated (we were seated at a high top table by the bar). The good: Ordered a watermelon margarita and it was really good! Guacamole (with pico) was very good. Tacos that I ordered were pretty good of the 3 I tried (el pastor, carne asada & Shrimp) the el pastor taco was my favorite. Room for improvement: the person I was dining with, who has dietary restrictions had a few issues. She ordered the tuna stack and it was ok. Nothing wrong with it just not for us. She also ordered a mocktail. Again nothing wrong with it, just not for her. She really did like the watermelon margarita ( I let her taste mine). Her food came out with cheese and she's allergic to dairy. She did order her food without cheese and when the server (who wasn't really a server, we believe he's a bar back) took the order without writing any of it down caused us raised eyebrows. This is typically where most establishments go wrong when there are dietary restrictions. So her food comes out with the restricted item on it and they took it back. 20+ minutes go by and no sight of her food. I'd finished my food. So much so another bar back came over and cleared the table. We had to stop another server going by to get them to get us someone because she still hadn't received her food. The same bar back who had cleared our table came back and gave us our bill. We had to explain that she still hadn't received her corrected order. Another 5-10 minutes go by and they bring out her order; correct this time. The server who originally took our order never showed back up after he took our order. I turn around to see who was around d to help us get her food out and our original server was behind the bar cleaning or something. He wasn't serving drinks, which is how I came to the conclusion that he was a bar back. Other than that the music was way too loud. Most times when people dine out not being able to talk to the person you are dining with due to loud music is a bit off putting, however, this is a very easy fix. FYI. I DJ so I'm accustomed to loud music. Overall: would I go back, YES! The food was good, the items that weren't to our liking weren't bad but more so options that weren't for our specific tastebuds. With this being a newer establishment, that recently opened, we understand that there are things that have to be worked on like training the staff correctly (as others have said in their reviews here). These are totally correctable issues, with a little more time and training if these things are addressed. I look forward to visiting again in the future. read more
